Companions of the Night
I don't know if I ever posted it here, but I finally decided to read Twilight and all it's subsequences. I finished Eclispe about a month ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the books. So after reading Twilight, I started thinking about the only other Vampire Lit I've ever read. It was back in 9th grade and I read it for Accelerated Reading. It was called Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde. I remembered liking it a lot, so I decided to buy it online. It was really cheap (it's about 13 years old since it's publishing). I only spent about $3 for it.
It's shorter than I remember at only 212 pages and it got a little cheesy in some parts, but i'm kind of obsessed with it now. It's not anywhere as mushy and fluffy as Twilight and i'm almost certain that those who don't favor Edward will probably love Ethan (or they will just like both, like I do). Ethan is a liar/con-artist, who will pretty much say or do anything he has to to get what he needs/wants. It's kind of hilarious. I also liked the main girl, Kerry, okay. She reminded me of Bella in subtle ways, but then again she didn't. I don't know, it's up to the reader to decide.
If you like VampLit I suggest picking it up, it should be in your local library. No, it's not fantastic literature, but it's a neat little story and Kerry/Ethan is a ship I think people could get behind.

What? An actual update?!
I've been neglecting my journal and my flist lately and i'm sorry about that! I'm getting ready to move and things have been a bit hectic the last 3 weeks. So fandom-wise, here's what i've been obsessing over for the last month!
[x] First and foremost! Those that visit FanForum, go vote for the Jonas Brothers and get them a board! They are second (by one vote) to Coldplay (why on earth do they need a board, anyway?). So go vote! VOTE HERE!
[x] New behind the scenes Hannah Montana Stills were released recently and they are made of awesome!
[x] I'm still obsessed with Camp Rock! And I found these adorable pics the other day at the Shane/Mitchie thread.
[x] I watched Drillbit Taylor last night and I think i've developed a fangirl crush on Josh Peck. I can't explain it! His voice is sexy. Has anyone seen "The Wackness"? Is it any good?
[x] I FINALLY saw Charlie Bartlett (funnily enough, my little brother was the one who rented it)..and let's just say that Tyler Hilton's stock went way up as a result. I was totally going to pic!spam him (as well as Jake Epstein! They stood by each other in only like, one scene..but still--they were totally the reason I enjoyed the movie as much as I did!), but my brother returned the DVD before I could cap it. =(
Oh, and I didn't know this beforehand, but Aubrey Graham is in it too! So that's 3 Degrassi kids (if you don't count the kid who played Linus) that are in this movie. But yeah, anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, you need to! It was a really good movie.
