Do cats eat bats?
Because I'm waiting for me tea to cool down a bit and because [info]suzyx  said so.

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about themselves on their journal.
3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people. (everyone who's bored or needs to waste some time)

1. I'm currently reading Alice in Wonderland. If you know a bit about me you'll know why.
2. In case you don't know - all it needs to get me interested in a book is Tim Burton announcing a movie based on it. Casting Johnny as lead is optional, but always welcome.
3. I have a thing for the long words you can construct in German, which is probably the reason why every creative writing I've ever done was in German. For things that are more on an information level I rather use English though. It's the less complicated language.
4. For the first time in what feels like ages I've written a real letter today. I mean, a handwritten letter with real ink and real paper and all that. It's for my aunt's birthday.
5. My dinner was roasted chestnuts and an apple.
6. I just managed to juggle with 3 apples for quite a while. Then my cat Sam came in and gave me a "wonder when he'll drop one" look ... and then I dropped one.
7. I'm still blond and I think my crazy haircolor days are over for good.
8. I have more shoes than some of my girl friends.

Now you know
New Twilight trailer: UGH! Yeah, everyone knows the story, but still - a trailer is supposed to give you a little glimpse and a vague impression of what the movie will be about. After watching a good trailer you should be curious, wanting to see more and finding out more. You should not be able to tell almost the entire story of the movie. Yeah, people are excited and yeah, it's cool to see that much of the movie BUT - major marketing department fail.

Oh, and I'm having an extra day off today. It's so foggy that after a few meters everything fades to white and because the fog is so heavy you get wet from just being outside for a while. I went back to bed after I got the news and I just got up now. It's been a while since I didn't wake up from an alarm clock but because my body had enough sleep. Feels good.

I still need new icons.

I filtered the wind to sense the colours of the air
True Blood: Needs more ERIC! And for a moment I thought we'd make it through an episode without Jason having sex. I was starting to feel sorry for the guy already, not getting laid for a whole episode ... well, not really ... *lol* ...

Heroes: Here we go with the time lines confusion stuff again. I'm lost. Not as lost as with Lost, but getting there (yes, this sentence only makes sense when you see it written down).

Me: Same old, same old. Still playing adult. Still being a bad LJ friend as a consequence of playing adult.

Oh, some book news: I heard a rumor about a 5th book of the Night Watch series (I have no clue how the series is called in English, since I'm reading the German translations.) that is in the making. Which of course means that it will probably take a year or two till it will be released in a language I can understand, but still, great news.

Random note: Jeez, I'm so bored of my icons. Need to get some new stuff.

Bring in the clowns!
Just got home. Switched on the TV. Zapped around aimelessly (like always, because I never remember the TV program). Wasn't that ...?. Fullstop. Return. Yes, my favourite demon hunting brothers. German TV is showing Supernatural and I didn't get the memo. So, I got myself a cup of tea and just when I was about to make myself comfortable I saw IT. Yes, it's the clown episode. The episode that is too creepy even for me, because clowns scare me. There goes my plan for a good hour in front of the TV. Life is NOT fair. There are so many other Supernatural episodes, why do they have to show this one just when I'm watching?

Raise your hand if you find clowns funny! (or leave a comment)

It´s cold and it´s rainy but my heart´s all warm ...
... when I´m walking the streets of my homentown

1990 Germany was reunited and 18 years later I get a day off because of it. History is a great thing, isn't it? Especially when that history happens on a friday before a weekend that is off too ... :D
The weather is not in celebration mood, but I really missed the rain and the wind that smells like the sea and that is so typical for my home town.

Back to the past ...

Remember all my recent bitching about LJ problems? Well, I had even more problems with other websites and figured that they are probably to blame on my recent browser update (Firefox 3 point whatever), so I digged out an older version, installed it and now everything is back to normal. Firefox 3 has some good new features and I thought it was faster too ... but that becomes pointless when the websites you want to access don't work properly.

Mmh ... Revenge of the Sith on TV ... yummy Jedi ...

Side note (in German this time): Der FC Bayern gewinnt nicht mehr automatisch und jetzt hat auch noch die CSU die absolute Mehrheit verloren. Dieses Wochenende muss echt ein Kulturschock für manche Bayern sein :p

Back to the Jedi business.

Help!
I'm trying to post on [info]daily_gaspard  and whenever I try to post my comment I get this:

Comment not posted: POST required, or missing parameter.

Needless to say, that I of course did not want to post an empty comment!

And now I managed to comment with a *test* in another post and I can't even delete it because I get an error message there too ... the person who gets this in their inbox probably thinks I'm nuts (which isn't far from the truth of course, but don't tell anyone). I'm so sorry.

Anyway, what I really wonder is, if anyone else has the same kind of problem. If no one replies to this it probably means "yes".

On other news, I'm looking forward to new Heroes, new True Blood (haven't had time to watch yet) and sleep. I need a Heroes icon ... and talking icons - I played a bit in photoshop *points at icon*, it feels like I haven't done anything in ages. But, I might post some stock icons soon. Same stile as the one I'm using here.

Hey, I have never used the infuriated mood before. I had no idea that it has Hannibal with a gun ... yum ... note to self: use more often.

How to delay the spread of fire
It's this time of the year again ... the first leaves change colour, when you get up early you can see the valley covered in myst before the sun gets strong enough to vanish it, the grapes you steal in the wine yards start to be eatable, pumpkins show up in the shops (next to the first Christmas cookies) ... and I'm wondering about my Halloween costume.

As always it will be a group thing and here are our first ideas - vote now (pretty please):

Poll #1257318 Halloween 2008

PS: I guess I would have noticed by now if they created a black hole in Switzerland, it's just around the corner after all. Soooo ... I'll have to think of another interesting way to die then *sigh* "and then I was sucked in that big black hole that appeared out of nowhere in front of my door" would habe been such a good ending for my biography.

PPS: True Blood = Love. I'm afraid that accent might be catching though *lol*

PPPS: Damn Photoshop. Load already. I NEED these new Gaspard pictures on my layout. NOW!

You know what the real advantage of being able to see France from my bathroom window is?
I'll be able to get my hands on this in less than 30 minutes:

Also - I have True Blood sitting here. *squee* I need something good and vampire-y badly. Reminds me ... I haven't got any plans for a Halloween costume yet ...

[ETA] And I hope the Doctor Who news are true. But it's almost too good to be true ... Master back, Donna back, David staying on board ...

Snow in summer > rain in summer
And totally weird too. I'm just not used to white summers.
I stocked up on Swiss chocolate, btw, as everyone expected me to.

"Leaked" Midnight sun chapters > All of Breaking Dawn (yeah, that's not hard at all, I know I know ... but I thought I'd mention it anyway :p)
And of course, it totally "leaked" (as oposed to, you know, put online by some kind of authority just when half the fandom is pissed off)

The prophecy says ...
... that the release of the new Harry Potter movie has been moved from november to june (or july?). Afraid of the Twilight hype? *lol*

I haven't watched more than two minutes of Olympics so far. Germany is 3rd best or something like that ... and I just don't care.

I'd like to pretend this is a political statement but I'm just not interested in seing people do whatever they do at summer Olympics. The girls beach volleyball could probably hold my interrest for a while (nice little clothes ... :p) but whenever I come across Olympics it's people shooting at stuff or trying to make their horse dance or swimming, for some reason it's always swimming.

Anyho, only 2 years till the good stuff - Winter Olympics! And endless nights of watching Curling and wondering what's so interesting about Curling and why I watch it. Which never keeps me from continuing to watch of course.

Coming up next week: A work trip to Switzerland and hopefully a bit of snowboarding :D

Paris for president!
Yeah, I find Paris Hilton as useless as everyone else does, but I think starting her own election campaign in reply to being trashed in a McCain commercial is actually pretty funny.
And Bush fans, this is your chance! Vote Paris! She'll let others do the work, every once in a while you'll get funny news about her private life ( ... falling off bikes), the rich will get richer and sometimes she'll show up somewhere in person and say something stupid. In short - you won't even notice the difference.

Looky what Amazon has delivered today. Just what I need to help my recovering (yes, that would be the Nessie shock I'm recovering from):

Yes, I'm reading a comic ... I mean, graphic novel ... wouldn't want people to think I'm reading a comic, right? Graphic novel sounds so much smarter! Who came up with that name anyway? Thanks thanks thanks, unknown graphic novel inventer, because now I don't have to write in my LJ that I'm reading a comic.
I'm not usually a fan of these, but this is Dark Tower *squeeeee* And it's a new story too, I thought it's just The Gunslinger in pictures, but it's a prequel to that. :D

Random thought: I'll be totally disappointed if they make a Dark Tower film (which they probably won't because 7 books would translate to like 10 films and that's without short stories and references in other books ...) and the music in the intro is not Fields of the nephilim's version of "The Harmonica Man" ...

And I'm totally not in the mood for a serious Breaking Dawn review. Most of you know already what I'm thinking anyway, with me ranting all over the net about it *lol

PS: Someone in chat mood tonight?

Smuggling chocolate across the swiss border to Germany = great fun!
Well, I don't know if it is really considered smuggling, but we did buy a lot and I'm sure there is some kind of limit on how much chocolate you can bring without having to pay additional tax.

Let's just pretend that we did something illegal and feel like gangsters while eating Ovomaltine chocolate (I LOVE this stuff and it's so hard to find in Germany, while even the tiniest swiss supermarket has it)

Help!
There are hundreds of flying ants fucking on my window! Some of them have threesomes and I spotted some group sex too!!!!
It's not that I have something against ant sex ... but ... can't they like, get a room or something? And preferably a room that isn't owned by me? Because I can't open the window or else I'll have the whole orgy in my bedroom.

Where's that Adam Ant album when you need it? Staaaaaaand and deliver .... *yodel yodel yodel* ... good soundtrack for an ant orgy, right?

*off to film ant porn for youtube*

Edward Cullen and the curse of Loch Ness (part 1 of the venomous sea monster chronicles)*
- I forgot to post about that Obama speech in Berlin. You have probably heard the speech by now (if you're interested) or don't care anyway ... in short, nothing new. It was a great atmosphere though, more party than political event. I had some great talks with American tourists and I think if we could get some of these to show up when our politicians perform it would be much more fun there too.

- The lake where I go swimming hosts a "mosquito party" tonight. Doesn't sound too promising, but we are brave and will check it out anyway. If everything fails there's always nude night swimming to fight off the little blood suckers.

- I miss YIM / MSN chats :-/ I need an evening off to catch up with everyone.

- Isn't there a new Harry Potter trailer out?

Albus Severus > Nessie
Breaking Dawn "spoilers" before bed aparently lead to weird dreams ... this is what I remember of mine:

I was a vampire in Hogwarts and me and my house mates were bored or something and someone told a story about the Hogwarts lake (lake Hogwarts? Loch Hogwarts?) monster and Draco digged out a picture that his father had takem of it and it showed the typical Nessie wearing a tartan hat. Somehow, no one complained about the hat and we went on a Nessie hunt and from there on things got really weird and we were on my boat somehow and there was a Nessie monster playing the bagpipes and then someone said it's all for the paying tourists anyway and someone asked me what a half vampire eats.

Marco - who's staying with me here for a couple of weeks, btw *happy* - was a bit confused when I started to laugh after waking up. I'm usually not in the best mood in the morning.

There is a hint of Armageddon in the air
I spent the weekend at my sister's new house, or should I say soon to be new house? Because they still live in the old house and we painted the walls in the new one.(Orangy kitchen! :D ) ... and that's all there is to report about my oh so eventful life *lol*

*rofl* of the day goes to the "Tankshop" and the two Canadians who tried to figure out the meaning of it.

It's a terrible habbit in Germany to make up English sounding terms for stuff and this often goes very wrong (hello "bodybag") ... a "Tankshop" is just a shop that belongs to a gas station (the tank part comes from the German word for gas station - Tankstelle), not something for army supplies.
Today, while paying for my gas, I came across two guys in that shop, wondering where the tanks are sold. They totally cracked me up and we agreed to meet for coffee and picture taking tomorrow at the "Backshop" (no, they don't sell backs, they sell bread :p).

And Faking dawn quotes of the day:

Edward: "OooooooohOOOooooohhh"

Emmett: "Oooooops, I did it again ..."
Jasper: "You don't look cute in that cheerleader uniform ... just sayin ..."

Gaspy in b/w (sans Kate Moss) ... or some Doctor? ... let's see ...

*rofl* of the day:
Someone created like a dozen accounts last night and spamed me with comments (and most likely others too, because I checked the comment count on one of the journals and it's more than what I received) ... only, they didn't notice that I have the IP logging thing turned on and therefor can see that it's all coming from one person only.
For a moment I thought about reporting them to LJ abuse, but then I thought their IQ is punishment enough already.

Help! I'm developing a week spot for idiots! :p
