So you know that director James Gunn?

Look at his photos in the "My Photos" album on the last page. Wonder who gave him that picture?????

ME. That's who.

My brother idolizes my brother-in-law (who does computer graphics for movies and television and has a online comic) and took to writing his first comic book a few days ago. Normally I'd crack up and tell everyone what a dork he is, but this time I cracked up then thought about it for a second. This "comic book" is a fascinating look into a seven year old boy's mind.

Prepare to be amazed )

Well it's been nearly three months since my last post to LiveJournal. Oops, my bad. I could lie and say my computer was being an ass lately, but my Facebook and MySpace haven't been ignored. I'm just a crappy poster I guess.

My last post was the week before prom. I laugh when I think about how excited I was about all of that. It really was a waste. I wish I'd gotten a much cheaper dress, hadn't worried about my make-up, or had my hair done at all. It wasn't that I was wallowing in "I have no date to my senior prom" self-pity, it just wasn't worth any of it. I spent too much of the night in another world thinking about what I'd rather be doing. Needless to say that little documentary of mine went down the drain once I lost that pizazz. But since my last post I did graduate from high school. I know that the past years were the some of the easiest I'll ever have, but for now I prefer to celebrate in the end of my required education.

I have more to say, but it'll wait. For now read this little gem I wrote on the back of a receipt at work (I got promoted, too) tonight:
I'm not quite sure what I was going for with this

5:45 PM
Barely two hours into my shift and I can already feel the numbness creeping into the depths of my soul. The kind of numbness that prevents real thought, limiting you to things like "Weather sure has been weird lately." or "That music sure is awful." or even "I wonder what time it is?" I'll have to make up for this once I'm home. I'll read. I'll write. Anything to regain feeling. I realize that work is like this for every person but I hate that everyone around me seems to be completely numb, they've all unknowingly succumb to a hopeless life. All of them will leave tonight and grab a drink, maybe smoke a little. They say it's just a bit of fun but it's their only escape now that they don't see anything better. I won't be here forever and I know the career I plan to follow won't have my living in constant bliss but at least I won't be left reflecting on the awfully high amount of ranch dressing consumed by our customers.

So I started my prom "documentary". I'd say it's really shaping up, but it isn't.

Hannah and I took Emily to Hooters for her 18th birthday. We were high-fived by drunk men and Hannah was horribly excited. As part of her present from me, I gave Emily a baby doll to teach her about responsibility and she has taken to throwing it around and naming it Stupid-Baby-Fat-Head.

Prom is in five days. *girly spazz*

So I've decided that I'll be documenting all my prom crap for a movie. I'm bored and I figure when I'm old and cynial, I'll love it.

My prom dress looks amazing on me, which is saying something because I never look good in anything.

Quote #2

BACKGROUND INFO-So I may have kind of split up my work place into the Jets and Sharks because of pure boredom.

So one of my coworkers (a Jet) is leaving and making fun of my Shark-status. In response, I turn around, pretending to cry.

Coworker: Are you sad because I'm leaving?
Me: No, I'm sad because you're an ass.

Quote #2

BACKGROUND INFO-When I came home from work, my Dad was watching "Gladiator". I've never seen it and decided to be a jackass and ask him a bunch of questions.

It's the end squence and the two die. When they die, a whole crap load of people come out to the field and just stand there.

Me: What are all those people doing just standing there, Dad?
Dad: I don't know, being paid as extras.

My Dad is a sarcastic ass too!!

So The Guild is pretty awesome. Watch it.

Here's the rest http://watchtheguild.com/

Happy Easter!

Yesterday my Mom watched "Ten Commandments" like she does every year. I told her I was going to watch my own movies that have any sort of scene dealing with resurrection. She said that was very jackass-y of me.

I have no idea what she's talking about.

Anyway, these are the movies/tv shows I watched:
-The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
(Gandalf!!!)
-Buffy Season Six Premiere and Parts of Season Three
-The Chronicles of Narnia: The Jesus Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
-Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
-X-Men: The Last Stand
-Shaun of the Dead

That's all I got for now.

I took my dog for a six mile walk (most of it up hill) today...in flip flops. Needless to say my feet hurt like hell.

So, because of this weekend, everyone at Red Robin loves me. In two days alone I bussed tables, hosted, did to-go's, expo-ed (that's when you run the food), and was a server. I rock. And my paycheck is going to be sick next Friday.

I was thinkning of making my journal public again because I don't quite remember why I made it friend's only in the first place.

EDIT: So I'm in the midde of changing my posts back to public, have fun reading the trails of 14 year old Katie because I've started with the older ones.

Golly, I've had a busy week.

I got my prom dress on Tuesday. It's pretty. It's blue. It's flow-y. It makes me look like a Greek goddess. I also saw a test screening of Repo! The Genetic Opera. It wasn't "I want to poke my eyes" out terrible, you know if you don't take things incredibly seriously. Blind Mag was fun, and so was the Grave robber. And Giles was there, but he sadly fathered that chick from Spy Kids.

I've been watching a lot of Canadian children's television lately. It's borderline sad. But I've discovered that Radio Free Roscoe, while reeking of Canadian teenage "drama", has some really good music (I'll post one of my favorite songs further down in the post if you care to hear it). And speaking of Canadian drama, why has my social life become like a season of Degrassi (it's the teenage equivalent of a soap opera, for those who aren't as pathetic as I am).

Tomorrow, I'm seeing "10,000 BC" after work. I plan on mocking the lack of intelligence of the writers while admiring the god-like features of Steven Strait, who by the way is married and rumored to be having a baby soon. Why must the good marry young?

So I find myself utterly sick and tired of MySpace and Facebook. I'd delete them but it's how I talk to so many people. Pathetic. I wish people mailed letters. I find myself gravitating back to good ol' LiveJournal. So expect actual posts soon.

I went to my school's Battle of the Bands. I'd call it a complete waste of time but the money went to charity so it was just a waste.

I'm seeing a free screening of Repo: The Genetic Opera on Tuesday. It'd should be interesting. I got invited to another one a while ago, it was "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2". It had the Greek man so I was happy.

When you can listen to a pop radio station and the first 15 songs you hear you can in some way relate to your life, you know something is terribly, terribly wrong.

I saw Cloverfield and got The Supernatural Book of Monsters, Spirits, Demons, and Ghouls. Is my life complete now? Pretty much.

It annoys the hell out of me when I wake up and it's sunny. I was promised a week of a rainy San Fernando Valley.
