02:23 pm: Yay!
I have added [info]weiskind as a friend!  Do not be shocked -- this does not mean that much as all my posts are public!  Yay!

I have a new daughter who is five or so weeks old.  Great stuff.  This week I have seen sun, rain, snow, hail.    Soon there will be frogs and lava falling from the sky.

Puns

Happy Easter!

10:54 am: Oh, what fun it is to ride inside the four horse of the apocalypse like Luke.
There have been some big events in my life, and it has been great fun.

I am a new father. L.O.B. was born on Friday February 16, 2008 at 0220 at home. S was transfered to a hospital via ambulance at 0700 due to hemorrhaging. She received two blood transfusions and we spent the night there. Friends in the community watched X for us as he could not spend the night. It was some big fun. We are now home. S is resting. L is healthy. X is rambunctious as ever. It is great bug fin.

12:23 pm: Stuff has been happening....
No new human yet. We took a long walk to aid in the process, but to no avail!

We say King of Kong last night. WOW! There is some great music on it that is 8-bit style. The special features are fun. I am surprised just how hard Donkey Kong is.... Wacky.... It only takes a little over two hours to get the highest score in the world! After you see the movie, NOTE THAT THIS IS A SPOILER, you might like this as it will give you a taste of Austin. Do check out the special features: There is one character that is pretty Awesome. Wow....

NetFlix
IMDB

Fun stuff. This reminds me of my video game past. I think that J8H would like it.

Here is something that I found on Digg. I feel a 'little' bit better now! Phew: Give me a *!

Also, I found this great thing for V day! Holly Crampskiis

Spowsiis will be happy to know that there is a Sex and the City, but will it be good.

There is also a new version of Vector TD out. I am not too much into it this time. The puzzle mode has a great fire-and-forget quality. Make your towers and walk away. Check in thirty minutes and see if you have a high score....

12:40 am: Wacky...
I found these old links from some fun that I did back in 2001:

There really isn't that much attention given to first ascents or first traversals for that matter. This stuff feels like a lifetime ago.

10:40 am: A weekend sans X
Friday 2008-01-18:
The LSXv went to see across the universe. X has a good time and likes the music. The movie tried to do so much. In some cases it succeeded, but in others it failed. They needed more money and time to make it more polished. Too bad -- it's is a cool idea. I think it would be cool if they make some Pink Floyd music into a movie....

Saturday 2008-01-19:
The SXv drop me off in Albany, OR so I can catch the Amtrak to Portland. I went to see JHogan. Portland was grand fun. We went to Ground Control and play ancient arcade games. We made many high scores. Ms. Pacman gets particularly hard when the ghost no longer turn blue. I got the mud-pie level in Donkey Kong. J8H got to level four in Tron. As usual I sucked in Tempest.... Those games are wicked hard.

Sunday 2008-01-20:
We drive to Astoria, OR to celebrate the goonies. We lunch at a Bosnian place and have some great food. We go to see the Astoria Column. It was grand. We drove to Seaside, OR and grabbed a motel on by the beach. J8H wanted time to nap, read, journal, and stuff. I went out to explore the beach. Droves of folk were headed out to clam. I decided I would run. I went south toward Tilamook Head for 30+ minutes and walked back. I returned some 1.5-2.0 hours later. My desire for Cloverfield was not to be staunched so we went and enjoyed. We spent too much time driving back. We saw so little old-growth on the drive. They have hacked this state into one big tree-farm. It would have been grand to have seen this place in the 30s when many of the grand valleys still stood.

Monday 2008-01-21:
Prior to going to bed I watched Randy Pausch's Last Lecture. Quite amazing. The way he deals with mortality is a big reason to like this, but he does so much more.

X starts getting really sick.

May I suggest some Su?

Tuesday 2008-01-22:
Some time around 0530 I get asleep after trying to help X in his sickness. I think this is the worse night ever with any illness he has suffered. I woke up around 1400, but could hardly think. Sleep deprivation is poopy.

Wednesday 2008-01-23:
They folks are making tons of noise in our Flat. There is a suspicion that sound travels too well from our unit to our neighbor below. I am in a coffee shop drinking herbal tea. Caffeine is poopy and shall not be consumed.

Here is some older stuff:
-Sunday I went on a hike to traipse in Oregon Old Growth. I found out a tad more about the WOPR initiative.
-XMas was white. We traipsed to Mary's Peak to see more snow with the Kimdom Complex.
-Tried to work on the day after.

09:49 am: Amtrak Baby....
The SXv sleep.  We have started doing shifts again as the Le X Mang is having some trouble with it.  We are going to train down to LAX and arrive there sometime in a few days.  Will you be ready to party?

We are currently thinking about going to Catalina Island.  Can you stand it?

I have started running again.  I bought new shoes and go running in the park next to the home.  It is spiffy goodness.  I hope to do more FFP in the future.  That is all.

Curtains, Sleep, night-time rest, may I rest now;
I wake to hurry eager, not to sleep more.
The easel that holds my life lifts me;
Its good in-trenched mirrored with my soul;

There was a break of rain today.  D. with D has ventured up and gets the first house guest award!  Yay!  We walked in the park and chatted about the Bay Area Folk (BAF).

We have been moved in for a month.  Sun sun sun.

We have moved.  Finally, we are done living in squalor.  Yay.  It is crazily social doing this thing.

02:27 pm: S's Suprise Belated Thirtieth and X's Second Birthday Celebrations...
...a success!

We had six house guests this last weekend:
-J8H
-KP
-D^2
-P&L

It was supra-fun.

X is now two and changes occurred over-night!  We have to spend more money to fly.  He sleeps more at night. He speaks more. The change was immediate on his birthday. Maybe he knew.

I am reading a good book series.  I will not say what it is.  But if you are part of the KK, you will know what it is.  Thanks ZK!  It is most excellent.

Work is stressful.  Parenting is stressful.  X is spending some time at Day-Care.  We decided that he was old enough and we needed some sanity prior to having two kids running around.  It has increased the average happiness level of The LSX by 4.32.

I played CrimsonLand and enjoyed it.

What else?  Oregon rocks.  The LSX will be traveling South to CA around the end of November.  Remember the 5th of November.  I have a YEG in BUR to attend.

01:47 pm: X's BD Approaches!
I want to buy him a cat or a cat.

Is safety first, second, or third?

This is cool.

This is probably more likely, but I bet it is not for sale, but this one is for sale.

That is Dvorak for Happy October! We are now in Fall. The LSX took a trip to SEA, but we sleep poorly and are somewhat sick. It has been rainy too and a tad cold. The leaves are changing providing a gamut of colors. X noticed a double rainbow out of the car during our drive. He learned that word quickly as rainbows are quite nifty. The LSX is still hear nurturing our sprinting pneumonia, or at least it feels like that!

We'll be closing on the place on 2007-10-12. Woo-hoo!

03:06 pm: Mame, my saviour...
Now that I have OpenGL hardware support on my Mac I can finally play I, Robot again. It was perhaps the first 3D raster arcade game. Sadly, the saving does not work. I have always wanted to see its 99 levels. Perhaps I will just need to be good.

We'll be moving soon. We are getting ready to leave. This has been an interesting stay in Austin. I have had a big fun time with the K. Family. I am looking forward to nature excursions and getting back in shape. Oregon should be a big fun place to live. Much growth to come.

03:54 pm: Backpack Cowart?
So when in the next Arroyo Seco hike? Would the ABL know? I just posted to the AlpineButterfly live journal account. Wish me luck. The family is considering hiking for a week in the Sierras. Who wants to come? It will most likely be in the end of July to beginning of August. This will be the LSX contingent and we are thinking of going on the Rae Lakes Loop, John Muir Trail, or High Sierra Trail. Mt Whitney would be fun to see. Anybody interesting in going? Also, it would be grand if we could bring your car so we can take a one-way trip! Ye-Ha!

LSX will train from Corvallis on Harry Potter Day and arrive in SJC on Sunday. We'll be in the area to see folk for few days. I'll need to go to BUR to see work folk on 2007-07-[25-27]. After this we want to backpack somewhere? Who wants to go for the following week: 2007-07-28 - 2007-08-03? Please do not speak all at once!

After this day we may spend a tad of time in the Bay Area for few days to say hello to folk. I'll need a mid-week bike ride with Alon and Ohlone Adventure Ride with Chris on the MTB.

06:28 pm: ¡Yay!
Yet another FlipSide Chariot photo.

I have finally finished rereading the Harry Potty series 1-6. Good stuff. Now I can resume sleeping.

We also decided to turn on the AC. I can actually be productive now. I think that I was too hot while working. What else is there?

We are moving on July 4th to Corvallis, Oregon.

We will be hopping down to the Bay Area in mid-to-late July. I am hoping that I may see my peeps there, catch an Arroyo Seco hike, and bike, and see some groovy Sierran nature.

I will be hoping down to LA in mid July for work. Who wants to see me?

Hmmm.... Tasty?
