Welcome to 3options. I'll refrain from making one of those boring introductory posts and just cut right to the chase. This is a journal in which I'll post occasional insights of my life and rare short stories. Blogs I read daily can be found in the sidebar on your left.

Mac VS. Windows
Dec. 22nd, 2005 | 09:12 pm
I've been running on Windows all my life. I grew up using Windows 95 and have yet to convert to this new 'Apple Hype'. I have always loved these machines and enjoy visiting their stores in order to gaze at the lovely products. Recently I used my cousin's new G5, which enabled me to see a whole new side to computers and standard design. Apple runs smoothly while still maintaining a wonderful userface and crisp graphics. The only problem is that I just recently got my Windows XP computer that was created by a friend of mine. It's less than 2 months old yet I'm really not too fond of it (my previous Dell Inspiron laptop was four years old and barely manageable, thus I was offered a mere 300 dollars for a brand new desktop...which I took because I could afford such a bargain. Now I'm stuck with something I have little fondness for.)
So, what I'm really asking is this. In the next 4 to 5 months I'll be raising enough money to buy a Mac Mini with help from babysitting, holidays, confirmation presents, and more. Would it make sense, with all that Apple has to offer, to make a switch or is this decision just plain stupid? If you were in my shoes, what would be your decision? I know paying for a computer and then disposing it 6 months later sounds idiotic, which is why I'm impartial as to what should be done. All comments, advice, remarks, or whatever are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
