Alas for Cuban Lunch bars. The most delicious of candies, gone from this earth, at least in their commercial form. (It turns out they manufactured in Winnipeg, by a company called Paulin's that doesn't exist anymore.)

I wish I had one now.

ETA: There's a very tiny picture of a Cuban Lunch here.

A very tiny Facebook group (I make five members) is devoted to bringing 'em back.

11:42 am - Fic archive: Star Trek TNG/Voyager - "Comme si de rien n'etait" 1/1
This was, back in the depths of time, my very first slash story.  It's ... wow.  Well, I wouldn't have written it now, but I'm posting it for posterity just the same.

TNG/Voyager
NC-17
Picard/Paris
Summary: Wickedness comes in pretty packages. On the Enterprise-D, Picard encounters something beautiful and amoral that proves impossible to resist.

Contains a certain amount of language not intended for children and explicit m/m sex -- slash. If you're under 18, either don't read this or don't tell me, because if you're going to corrupt your young mind, I don't want to know I'm responsible.

Disclaimer: The characters, the setting, and odds and ends belong to Paramount/Viacom, but they would never consider doing things like these. That's why the story belongs to me. Ain't neither of us making any money off this, but maybe in an alternate universe . . .

The song is "Comme si de rien n'était," written by Valerie Leulliot and recorded by Autour de Lucie. I've eliminated the translation that accompanied the old version of this story, but the title translates, loosely, as "As if it had never been."

This story has little plot and less relevance to canon reality. It's almost pure smut. It just drifted into my sick and twisted little mind one evening and got typed out over the next couple of weeks.

11:39 am - Fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "Cracked" 1/1
 21/11/00
Voyager
Janeway/Seven

Summary: Dirt and gaps in vocabulary.

Copyright disclaimer: Voyager and all its odds and ends (biological and technological) belong to Paramount/Viacom. The story is mine. Profit is irrelevant.

Sex disclaimer: Never ever have I ever done it on my bed upstairs while the family was dining together below us, even if the lights were low and the excitement of nearly getting caught was almost irresistible. Oh, also there's some f/f stuff here. You been warned.

Notes:
I stopped paying attention to the show after the fourth season, so this takes place sometime around then.

The original first section of this story got stolen and became the opening of the X-Files story Half a World Away. Remaining similarities between the two are not coincidental.

It's worth noting that I started this something like two years ago, and abandoned it, and came back to it and finished the story in a night. So if the style's a little disjointed, that's why.

11:35 am - Fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "A Kiss on the Body Electric" 1/1
Voyager
NC-17
Janeway/Seven

All things Voyager belong to Paramount. The story belongs to me. It's strictly a non-profit venture. Don't sue me. I got nothing but a cat.

This story contains explicit sex between female consenting adults. That makes it slash. That also makes if off-limits to the children of the world. Behave yourselves. This is among the joys that you may experience when you're older.

Thanks 'specially to Boadicea, who betaed and suggested.

(For Dawn.)

02:09 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "Snow" 1/1
Voyager
Janeway/Seven

Summary: A late night, a cup of tea, a hairbrush. A story without a trace of a plot.

Disclaimer: If a story appeared on the Internet, and no one made any money off of it, would Paramount make a sound? (Voyager's not mine. Don't sue me. All I've got is a cat.)

This story contains no sex. I'm sorry. I promise to do better next time.

02:04 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "Sleepers" 1/1
Voyager
Rating: NC-17
Paris/Torres, Janeway/Seven
Summary: The Captain's having an interesting evening. We're getting to know each other better in the dark corners of the ship. Hide and seek. Very little angst. An unabashed sex romp, with costumes.

Itty, bitty spoilers for The Killing Game.

Copyright disclaimer: Voyager belongs to Paramount/Viacom. The story belongs to me.

Sex disclaimer: If you're a kid, you probably shouldn't read this. Sex is for grown ups. Lesbian sex (not shown, but it's a nice thought) is for girls. The boys can watch.

Notes:
And now for something completely different (for me, at least).

This is for Katie Redshoes, who put the idea of writing P/T into my head. I said, "Never happen," which of course meant that it would. Seventy-two hours and two new CDs later . . . well, you know. I'll try anything once. Katie did specify angst, but she should know by now that Jane doesn't ever do the expected.

01:58 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "Is a Boy Forever" 1/1
Rating: R
Paris/female
Summary: Tom Paris remembers a night he spent as a teenager and fragments of an afternoon spent in New Zealand. Leaning slightly towards costume slut fantasy.

Disclaimer: Paramount owns Tom Paris and all things Voyager. They would never generate something like this, so obviously what remains is mine. Not a bad deal, when you think about it.

Warning: This is not a happy story. It contains implied (consensual and non-) sexual situations, and some violence, as well as gratuitous profanity and escapism. Also Paris angst, because it's just so easy.

Translation from the Russian courtesy of the Canonical List of International Swearing. The title and complete quotation are drawn from my beloved copy of "The Little Lavender Book on the Love That Once Dared Not Speak Its Name" (shoulda seen my mother's face when I brought that one home...) The Gibson quote is from my favourite of his short stories.

... Is a Boy Forever
by Jane St Clair

"It's just a blink...one of a thousand things you remember, go back to, incorporate into your own vocabulary of feelings. Amazing. Freedom and death, right there, razor's edge, forever.

What I got was the big-daddy version of that, raw rush, the king hell killer uncut real thing, exploding eight ways from Sunday into a void that stank of poverty and lovelessness and obscurity.

It probably took all of four seconds."

04:54 pm - fic archive: Star Trek Voyager - "Softer Than the Rain" 1/1
Series: VOY
Rating: NC-17
Codes: J/P
Summary: Sequel to "Softly." Chakotay does a bad thing and spends the rest of the story scrubbing out Jefferies tubes with Ensign Expendable. Other people go on to do other things.

Disclaimer: All of it belongs to Paramount. Absolutely all of it. Can you believe it? Where's the justice here, I ask you? How can a cultural phenomenon be owned? I demand to know the reason! (Oh yeah, the story itself is mine. They can't take it away from me, so you don't either, OK?)

This story contains sex. It's going to be described in loving, exacting detail. It takes place between two consenting adults. In the real world, sex takes place all the time. If this bothers you, tough. If you're under 18, you don't know about sex, and I won't be the one to tell you. Besides sex, this story contains *lots* of snugglebunnies (in honour of Easter, of course!), limited angst, homesickness in spades, and miscellaneous mush. You been warned.

This is a sequel to Softly. I didn't intend to write a sequel, but people kept asking for one (Sasscat, I'm looking in your direction!), so here it is. Most of the background is contained within that story. If you haven't read it, this won't make any sense. I'll re-post "Softly" for convenience, but if for some reason you need a copy, e-mail me and I'll send you one.

The title is taken from the song "For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her," by Paul Simon.

To Ann Page and the Yarning Piper for reading this for me and telling me when it made no sense. I love you guys. No, really, I do. Really. Oh, never mind.

This was, a decade or so ago, my first-ever fanfic. And it shows.

Series: VOY
Rating: PG-13
Codes: J/P
Summary: A morale exercise from Chakotay yields some unexpected answers

Contains a certain amount of swearing, and mush, but no sex (sorry).

disclaimer: The characters, the setting, and the what-all belong to Paramount/Viacom. The story belongs to me. Neither of us is making any money off this. Sucks, doesn't it?

The music described is from "The Piano" soundtrack.

To the Yarning Piper for reading, encouraging, and otherwise giving me the guts I needed to post something, thanks so much. Luv, Jane.

04:35 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek TOS - "Crew Person" 1/1
This perhaps requires some explanation. Back in the midst of time, on alt.startrek.creative.erotica.moderated (or perhaps on alt.startrek.creative), there was a meme known as "Rude Person," wherein a tiny badfic was rendered in as many modes, versions, and accents as possible, always replicating certain ridiculous phrases. This was my contribution, fed by my undergrad boredom at reading Conrad's Lord Jim.

In honour of my 19th century novel prof,
and because you know it was always there,
and because Raku asked,

05:55 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek TOS - "Til Human Voices Wake Us" 1/1
Last story in this series. Comes after On the Edge of the Mountain.

05/08/99
Series: TOS
Rating: PG
Codes: K/S
Summary: After Kirk's death (in "Generations"), Spock is still on Romulus. But there are more things in heaven and earth...

Disclaimer: Star Trek in all its convolutions belongs to Paramount/Viacom. This story is mine. It's a fine balance, and I keep it from tumbling down by involving neither lawyers nor money. And that's as it should be.

Sex disclaimer: I wish there was sex in this. I really, really do. And I'm really, really sorry that there isn't any. So. Anyone who can't deal with m/m affection on this level needs therapy and readjustment badly, 'cause there isn't anything much here that I'd stop my grandma from reading.

Words in Vulcan and Romulan, and certain key concepts, are borrowed from Diane Duane's magnificent novels "The Romulan Way" and "Spock's World."

Title respectfully stolen from T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock." It's a great poem. And if you haven't read it, you should. (Sorry, professorial moment.)

04:03 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek TOS - "On the Edge of the Mountain" 1/1
Takes place after Wednesday Morning, 3 a.m.

Series: TOS
Part: 1/1
Rating: NC-17
Codes: K/S
Summary: Aftermath of the Refusion (Fal Torr Pan) in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock"

Disclaimer: Y'all know it belongs to Paramount, body and soul. 'Cepting, as always, the story. That's mine. No money, no problem.

This story contains semi-explicit m/m sex. That makes it slash, understand? If you don't like it, you're repressed, go get help. If you're under 18, don't read this, because there are just all sorts of things you aren't supposed to know, and this is one of them.

Well, I never expected to do K/S, and I'll probably never do it again, but I remembered today that the first time I experienced Trek in any form was when my dad took me to see "The Search for Spock," and I started to think back over the movie. Well, to make a long story short, this takes places between "The Search for Spock" and "The Voyage Home."

The two quotes in French are both by Blaise Pascal (1623-1662). I looked up "the heart" in my Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, and the other one was right there and I thought, why not? Translations are likewise from the ODQ (3rd edition). Bits and pieces of trivia about Vulcan (the planet) are taken from Diane Duane's marvellous novel "Spock's World," especially the origins of "Seleya," the origins of the Vulcan language, and the Underliers.

04:00 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek TOS - "Wednesday Morning, 3 a.m." 1/1
Takes place after Iowa

Series: TOS
Rating: NC-17
Codes: K/S
Summary: When you see someone you love, you see them as they are, but
you also see them as they were, and as you want them to be.

Disclaimer: If it were mine, I wouldn't have to deal with my student
loans. Seriously, all things Trek belong to Paramount/Viacom. The
story, such as it is, is mine. There was no money involved at any stage
of this story's creation or distribution, so I'll thank you not to make
any either.

This story contains m/m sex, the explicit variety. If that bugs you,
well, you'll probably end up shelling out a lot of money to a
psychiatrist someday, but that's not really my business. In the
meantime, go read something else. If, on the other hand, if you happen
to be under the magical age of 18/21, please wait to read this until you
become legal. Not only will that keep me out of trouble, but it'll give
you something to look forward to.

Archive ASC, otherwise by permission only.

This takes place sometime prior to The Wrath of Khan, but not too much prior, 'cause
the boys herein aren't as young as they used to be (though they aren't
as old as they're going to be). About all you need to know is that
they're past the five-year mission, but that's not keeping them off the
Enterprise -- except for this story, but this is shore leave.

Title stolen with the utmost respect from Simon & Garfunkle. Damn but I
love that song, not that it has a thing to do with this story.

03:45 pm - Fic archive: Star Trek TOS - "Iowa" 1/1
[This is the first archive story that I'm posting more or less exactly as it appears in my files. HTML formatting for two hundred-odd stories would make this project impossible. Let me know if any part of it isn't readable.]

Takes place after I Leave This At Your Ear

Series: ST:TOS
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: K/S
Summary: In his admiralty days on Earth, with Spock on
Vulcan, Kirk begins to have disturbing dreams. Other
strangeness follows.

Disclaimer: All things Trek belong to Paramount/Viacom.
This simple tale belongs to me. This simple tale belongs
to me. If anyone were to sue me, all they’d get would be
a collection of early 70s sci-fi paperbacks, a mangy old
cat, and my allergies that make such a great combination
with the cat hair and the dust-collecting books.

Warning: SEX!!! OK, that was your cue to press or
[delete] or whatever if you're under 18. If you're
offended by the idea of m/m sex, then may I suggest that
you're going to have a lot of trouble coping in this big,
bad world of ours, that it might be time for a change, and
that slash fiction is one of the best ways in which to
expand your world-view. If, on the other hand, m/m sex is
simply not your thing, then I wish you luck in finding
something to read which is.

This story originally appeared (in a slightly different
form) in 1998 in the zine KaleideScope 8. If you can get
your hands on a copy, you really should, because it was
wonderfully illustrated (not by me. By a person with
artistic talent.)

For those who might be wondering: This story is free-
standing, but it does exist in the same universe as my
other K/S stories, especially "On the Edge of the
Mountain."

Words in Vulcan and Vulcan cultural concepts are borrowed
with the utmost respect from Diane Duane's magnificent
novel "Spock's World".

Kirk/Spock

Summary: After Sam Kirk's death, Spock tracks Jim down on Earth. Takes place shortly after the episode Operation -- Annihilate!

Copyright disclaimer: The Easter bunny didn't bring them to me, so I was forced to go hunting rabbits. Ugliness ensued. (Seriously: All things Trek belong to Paramount/Viacom, and all that's mine is this story, on which I'm making no money and which you really shouldn't steal.)

Sex disclaimer: Yes Virginia, there is sex in this story. It's m/m, it's explicit, and if you're under 18, you aren't supposed to read this. If you otherwise can't deal, get a reality check. If you'd just rather be elsewhere, take a random bookmark and I hope I'll see you again someday.

Notes:
This takes place in the same universe as my other K/S stories, about a year after At My Most Beautiful.

It's been pointed out to me that some of the cultural details in this story don't match canon. To which I can only say that these stories do tend that way. I rely as much on my conceptions of how the world will look in three or four hundred years as I do on show precedent.

This is the "first-time" story for this series. Odd that I should leave it so long.
Many thanks to Mary Ellen Curtin for Spock advice and help with other details.
Title snitched from W.S. Graham.

Kirk/Mitchell, Kirk/Spoke preslash

Summary: Kirk is haunted by Gary Mitchell's death and has a strange encounter with his first officer. Takes place some months after "Where No Man Has Gone Before."

Copyright disclaimer: I dreamed that it was mine, but I woke, and it wasn't. So I hung down my head and I cried. (All things Trek continue to belong to Paramount/Viacom. Please don't sue.)

Sex disclaimer: There be suggestions of m/m relationships herein. I refuse to apologize for them.

Notes:
Title respectfully snitched from REM. I love those guys.

I'm playing in waters I don't fully understand (ie, early canon for TOS), so I've probably made some errors in timeline and whatnot.
