Music was constantly playing in his house growing up, but it was not until 1992 that he finally realized his love for Dance/Electronic music at the age of 8 when he heard Snap!'s "Rhythm Is A Dancer" and Opus III's "It's A Fine Day." As he grew older, he broadened his musical tastes by checking out other genres. He got his musical education by going deep into the Disco classics of the 70s, the Hi Nrg and Freestyle of the 80s, and the early House of the 90s.
As he began high school in 1999, he took an interest in DJing after seeing a schoolmate of his in action at a house party and talking to the resident DJs at some teen clubs. As DJ AK47, he spun private parties, school dances, and at some clubs. He continued DJing for 8 years until he announced his retirement in 2007 just as he completed his bachelor's degree in Communication.
Sean dabbled in producing mashups and re-edits in early 2006 as he was inspired by some other mashup artists who were coming up at the time. He still produces his mashups to this day.
Sean made a foray into blogging about the Dance music he heard in the San Francisco Bay Area (where he was born and raised) in 2004. Reviews of new and recent releases were a regular feature of the early blog. In 2007, the Sweet Muzik blog was launched with a focus exclusively on reviews of new music and occasional features of up and coming singers, remixers, producers, and DJs.
Sean recently completed his MBA focusing on the areas of marketing and management.
