The Society to Cut Up Men (S.C.U.M.)

This is S.C.U.M. The Society to Cut Up Men. We are genderists who believe in the superiority of the woman gender, its attitude to the world and its perspective on life. We fight against male supremacy and heterosexual chauvinism. We don't really cut men up... well, unless they deserve it!

The foundation text for this community is the S.C.U.M. manifesto by Valerie Solanas. You can also reference any other ideas or texts to further the cause of women. Please read the manifesto before taking part in the community. You can find it everywhere on the web, by using http://www.google.com, the search engine.

Being a member of this community means that you commit yourself towards furthering the global aims and upholding the spirit of the S.C.U.M. manifesto in your daily life, in your writing, in your politics, everywhere and whenever, with no concession to "reality", no regard for danger and no fear of ostracism.

Joining means something.

Take your side. Of course, I, disconscious, maintainer of this community and fearless SCUM leader, cannot monitor your thoughts... sadly enough. But please, be honest; there are thousands communities out there for all sorts of feminists, so do not join if you don't agree with the spirit of this specific community.

This community is obviously not for women who reject the appellation "feminist"; we proudly call ourselves "FEMINAZIS", so that should get rid of those flabby-assed dullards who never got anything done. We gladly associate ourselves with the most extreme elements in the feminist movement and with all the stereotypes that were made of them. We endeavor to personnify the men's worst nightmares. We are here to scare the bourgeois and unlike the bourgeois, our pleasure is in being outrageous.

Let's clarify our positions versus other feminist communities:

1) We are Radical Feminists and we think men have no place in feminism.
2) Men who claim they are also "victims" of patriarchy still are MEN and therefore STILL HAVE MAN PRIVILEGE that women do not have.
3) Don't go telling us we are discriminating against men. We are not practicing reverse discrimination because to discriminate one needs a certain amount of power - and we, as a minority, don't have that. To those who say women are not a minority, I will reply we still are treated as if we were minors, therefore we are a minority.
4) We think that "woman-only" spaces are NEEDED in a man-dominant society. Ultimately, we want that space to become the world.
5) We do not believe in the benefit of discussing or negotiating our positions with men and supporters of patriarchy. We have no time for that, and besides, our whole society is designed by them so as to inculcate fear and loathing into us. We need to get away from their crap.
6) Finally, calling ourselves "feminazis" is a way to re-appropriate that term, in the same way as the feminist movement re-appropriated the terms "cunt", "bitch" and "dykes". We DO NOT endorse nazism, or at least, we do not require that you do.

When we say we want to eliminate men, we do not *necessarily* mean to encourage physical elimination of men. What we really want is to eliminate is the concept of “man”, which is the most harmful idea that has ever been invented and is the source of all what is wrong with our society. Males have typically been assigned the role to further and personify the idea of man, which is why they can seem to be our primary target. But they are not. We fight against the ideology of masculinity and how it is used to subordinate women. We want to overthrow existing social institutions in so much as they sustain the social definition of masculinity and therefore create artificial barriers in the relations between people and to their full development as persons.



Let's be clear and let's repeat, please do not kill men. We will not condone your action, and we don't want to hear about it. Don't come in this community to crow about violent exploits in the fight against men. We will not even rejoice at the news. Killing men = bad. NO. Don’t.

You are however encouraged to report horror stories about men; well, in fact, you are encouraged to talk about men, as they are horror stories by themselves. Making fun of men is also encouraged. You can also report your experience with rape, beating, stalking and other typical man behavior. We are here to learn about how repugnant men are. Please report also on the various tactics you are using to undermine patriarchy and contest man's power.

Men are not welcome in this community. This is woman's land.

Avoid making personal attacks; keep criticism general, or be ready to deal with the consequences. Harassment is totally forbidden and should be reported to the LJ Abuse team at lj_abuse. You can also report harassment by commenting on my journal at disconscious. Harassment is defined as repeated insults, threats, demeaning, and other violent behavior directed against a person in this community or in the journal of a member.

Note: Madness is a quality in this community, because becoming mad is the only sane reaction to our insane society.

An excerpt from the SCUM Manifesto:

"Life in this society being, at best, an utter bore and no aspect of society being at all relevant to women, there remains to civic-minded, responsible, thrill-seeking females only to overthrow the government, eliminate the money system, institute complete automation and destroy the male sex.

It is now technically feasible to reproduce without the aid of males (or, for that matter, females) and to produce only females. We must begin immediately to do so. Retaining the male has not even the dubious purpose of reproduction. The male is a biological accident: the Y (male) gene is an incomplete X (female) gene, that is, it has an incomplete set of chromosomes. In other words, the male is an incomplete female, a walking abortion, aborted at the gene stage. To be male is to be deficient, emotionally limited; maleness is a deficiency disease and males are emotional cripples.

The male is completely egocentric, trapped inside himself, incapable of empathizing or identifying with others, or love, friendship, affection of tenderness. He is trapped in a twilight zone halfway between humans and apes, and is far worse off than the apes because, unlike the apes, he is capable of a large array of negative feelings -- hate, jealousy, contempt, disgust, guilt, shame, doubt -- and moreover, he is aware of what he is and what he isn't."
