_caladrius - ca·lad·ri·us
1. a mythical creature in the form of an all-white bird. When placed on the bed of an ill person, it can predict whether the sick person will live or die. If the bird looks away, the sick person will die of his illness. If the caladrius looks into the sick person's face, it draws the sickness into itself and flies into the sky, where the sickness is burned up and destroyed by the sun.
