Original Request:

I have opened a support ticket for this before, but received no resolution, so I thought I'd try again.

I am constantly being logged out of Livejournal. It doesn't matter what I doing - I could be reading my friends list, making a comment, uploading an icon - and suddenly I am logged up. This happens several times a day, sometimes multiple times in an hour.

It happens in both Firefox and Chrome (although much less often in Chrome). Support has previously suggested it was a browser issue with Firefox add-ons, but I have disabled those, and it still happens. I don't believe it's an ISP issue, because it happens to me in multiple locations, using different ISPs.

Is this a known problem for anyone else? Is there any help for the problem or is my only solution to suck it up and deal with it? I have to say, it's very frustrating, and really not user-friendly at all. I lose posts and comments multiple times a day, to the point where I just give up on posting them.

So again I ask for help.

I'm sorry for the long delay in providing you with a response. We've been researching this issue with remaining logged in and have found that it is your data provider's improper handling of the cookie (that contains login information) being sent to them.

Please see this entry in our knownissues community [http://knownissues.livejournal.com/293.html] for a full explanation of the issue. Unfortunately, it is something we need mobile data providers to resolve from their side and cannot be fixed directly from LiveJournal's side at this time.

Well, AT&T is not my ISP, but I'm glad there's something of an answer, finally.

Actually, this is not an answer at all. I am still constantly being logged out of LJ, in multiple locations, with different ISPs, none of which are AT&T (nor any of the others mentioned in the linked post).

So, what IS the problem? Why can't I stay logged into LJ?

I apologize for the delay in responding to your request. There are several things you can do to try and resolve this issue:

1) Check the "remember me" box when logging-in to LiveJournal. If you do not select this option, you will automatically be logged-out every time you close your browser.

2) Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies.

3) Disable any antivirus or internet security software on your device for testing purposes. Software such as this can interfere with cookies being passed properly between LiveJournal and your browser which could cause this issue.
