Summary:Comments no longer showing up
Original Request:
When I am looking at my friends page, and I see an entry that has comments, I click on the comments to view them. That takes me to my friend's journal...except I can't see any comments. At the bottom of the page it shows me how many comments there are, then there is a box you can check that says "Check All", a button that says "Collapse" and one that says "Expand". If I click "Expand", I am taken to an error page that says "Error You have not selected one of the actions. Please go back and choose if you would like to screen, unscreen, or delete the comments."

There ARE no choices present for "screen, unscreen or delete", and why would I be able to delete comments in someone else's journal? NO comments are showing up at all. This is very frustrating.

Your browser did report when your request was opened that JavaScript was disabled, meaning it is either turned off in your browser, or something is interfering with it functioning correctly.

There are many things which can cause this to not function properly, including:

* JavaScript could be disabled in your browser. Please ensure your browser has JavaScript enabled.

* Setting the "security" level of your web browser too high. Adjusting your browser's security setting to a lower level can help in this case.

* Installing add-ons or toolbars in your web browser, especially add-ons which attempt to block ads or scripts from running, can cause this behavior. Disabling all browser add-ons and toolbars can be helpful for the purpose of testing this.

* Anti-virus software interfering with scripts being run. You may need to try disabling your anti-virus software before loading LiveJournal pages for the purpose of testing if it is interfering with pages loading correctly.

* The presence of spyware/malware on your computer. Third party programs installed without your permission can change the way pages load. Many popular programs exist to identify and remove spyware/malware from your computer. We recommend using your preferred search enginge to search for "spyware removal" to find a program which can help remove spyware from your computer.

* You may have an outdated JavaScript file stored in your browser's cache. Please see [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=160] for information on how to clear your browser's cache.

If all of these steps have been tried and the problem still occurs, so we can continue to investigate the problem please try to ping l-stat.livejournal.com and let us know what IP address you see.

To do this:

Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Network Utility

Click on the "Ping" tab. Enter l-stat.livejournal.com. You should see output similar to:

Ping has started…

PING l-stat.livejournal.com.cdngc.net (174.35.40.3): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 174.35.40.3: icmp_seq=0 ttl=54 time=8.407 ms

The IP address in this example is 174.35.40.3 but will be different for you, and it is this information we need to further investigate the problem.
