Summary:Adverts still showing on Paid Account ...
Original Request:
Why are adverts still being displayed on my profile page and journal entry pages when I'm logged out? I've just upgraded from a Basic account to a Paid Account to eliminate ads completely. Please advise asap.
Diagnostics: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1

LiveJournal uses server-side caching to improve site performance during periods of heavy load. This can cause a delay between when a change is made and when logged-out users see these changes.

If several hours have passed since you made your changes and clearing your browser cache (as described here: [[http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=160]) does not update the logged-out view, please reply to this request with links to affected pages.

Really. Since upgrading about an hour ago I'm having real problems navigating livejournal. It's taking minutes to navigate from one page to another. I hope this isn't the shape of things to come. It's the very reason I downgraded to a Basic Account before. The quality of service I was getting was atrocious. I wasn't having problems before I made the upgrade.

Some users reported site slowness around the time you reported problems navigating LiveJournal, however they have indicated they are no longer experiencing trouble. Are you still experiencing difficulty navigating the site?

Yes. Still experiencing frustratingly slow page upload speeds. I can't believe it. Barely an hour into upgrading to a Paid Account, the same old issues again. I'm so glad I held off upgrading my other LJ accounts back to Paid status.

And while I don't have adverts on my main journal pages, they're still visible on my profile page.

I see the livejournal status page is reporting no site-wide problems. As ususal I have to go to 'Downrightnow' to get an accurate update on LJ status.

LiveJournal Support did eventually receive additional reports of slowness, but has not received any in several hours. Please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue.

With regards to seeing ads on your profile page when logged out, this issue cannot be replicated. Please clear your browser's cache [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=160] as this should resolve the issue.

Maybe you should check out 'downrighnow' at little more often. There has been sitewide disruption since last night. How do you expect people who are having problems to get in touch with you if they can't access their journals/lj?

The adverts have finally disappeared from my profile page.

I'm continuing to have intermittent access problems. It's my own fault. I should have known better to go back to a Paid Account. Lesson learned. My other two accounts will remain Basics. This one will revert back to a Basic Account after a couple of months.
