I was just looking at the list of open tickets and found one with a similar issue with a response that said Hughesnet seems to be a common factor. Hughesnet is my internet provider as well. |
As you may have noticed in the replies to the other requests, LiveJournal staff is currently working with HughesNet to investigate this issue. Additionally, HughesNet has requested that their customers experiencing this issue notify them as well as it helps them gather information. Thank you for your patience while this matter is investigated. |

Any estimate on how long it will take to fix this? I cannot access anything without jumping through several hoops because I'm not logged in, ditto commenting, I can't see my friends' friends-only posts... This hindrance is incredibly annoying. On top of that I have PAID for the account that I can barely access or use right now. |
This issue is still being investigated and no estimate is available as to when the problem will be fixed. Some users in the same situation have reported that disabling applications such as web boosters or accelerators has resulted in improved performance. If you are running any such applications, you may wish to try disabling them to see if this helps out. |
I don't have any web boosters or accelerators. |

I called Hughesnet, by the way. They had no idea wtf I was talking about when I told them about my issues logging into livejournal. |

Your Internet Service Provider uses a caching system, sometimes referred to as "turbo-charged" or "boosted" browsing, to improve overall load times for your entire browsing experience. For most sites you may visit, this is not an issue. However, LiveJournal serves dynamic content, which is often only visible to logged-in users. However, your ISP's caching system cannot log in to LiveJournal. As a result, when you login in and try to view a new page, you will be served the cached version provided by your ISP instead of the most-recent version from LiveJournal. This is an issue outside of LiveJournal's control and we encourage you to contact them for assistance as you may be able to disable it for your account or for specific sites.
