yep I tried, but that is to my old hotmail account, and it has not received the email since I tried it this afternoon

Please note that many email providers use anti-spam services that can filter out email from LiveJournal before those messages reach your email account. If this is the case, blocked LiveJournal email messages may not appear in a spam or junk email folder on your account. LiveJournal's password reset system is an automated process. The only way to reset your password is by using one of the methods detailed in the FAQ located at [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=17]. To reset your password you must:

-- Have access to either the current email address associated with your account, or to an address validated for use with the account in the last six months.

OR

-- Have created a secret question in the past. The FAQ at [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=287] explains how to determine whether you created a secret question in the past and, if so, how to use it to reset your password.

If you don't meet either of these criteria, you will be unable to reset your password and regain access to your account. Please note, password reset emails cannot be sent to addresses other than those described above.
