I cannot figure out how to have my friends page display more than the last two entries. Is there a place where I can customize how many entries to show per page?

You can change the number of entries on the "Customise Journal Style" page, as mentioned here:
http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=171

However, your Friends page is subject to several display limitations, which are described at [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=219]. In particular, your Friends page will only display entries that have been posted within the past two weeks and will not display more than 1000 entries. You can view your friends' older entries by visiting their journals directly.

You can find some additional information about why you may not be seeing entries where you expect them at [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=92].

past two weeks only? that's so dumb. it should just scroll back infinitely.
