| Summary: | comment posting is no longer inline (loads a new page) |
Original Request:
Until today, clicking on "reply" to a comment when viewing an entry caused the textbox to appear inline in the page. Today it's loading a new page that shows only the post and the comment I'm replying to. In addition to the unnecessary page load, this is an important reduction in functionality as I often find myself referring to other comments when writing. I'm hoping y'all agree that this is a bug and that it wasn't designed to do that. Thanks.

It turns out it does not happen all the time. On this entry:
http://cellio.livejournal.com/925794.html?view=6850658#t6850658
it happened when I replied to the comment from shalmestere (and I filed this report), and it did *not* happen when I replied to the comments from alienor and risiko. All of these are top-level comments with nothing obviously special about them. Why do they not behave the same way?
(When I click the reply link on my reply to shalmestere it also happens.)

I apologize for the delay in responding to your request. Several people have tested this and reproduced similar problems. Specifically, clicking reply on 2 of the 17 comments in this thread results in being taken to a new page instead of bringing up the quick reply form. We are uncertain why this occurs, but it does seem to be isolated to occurring in the style that you are using; viewing the page in various other styles prevents the problem from occurring.
