Are the very old messages that are still there flagged? |
|
No...I've never used flagging. |

I'm forwarding this to our operations team to investigate. To help them investigate:

I apologize for the delay in responding to your request. The behavior you describe, that messages were deleted which were not flagged, is consistent with what the "delete all" button at the bottom of http://www.livejournal.com/inbox/ does. We unfortunately lack logs of actions taken within the inbox to confirm this button was unintentionally used, but will be adding better logging in the near future. I'm also strongly suggesting the "delete all" button be removed, as its usefulness is limited and it is very capable of deleting large amounts of information a person did not intend to delete. Unfortunately, the messages which were deleted cannot be recovered. |

Thanks...I guessed as much.
