|Summary:||Controls not loading....|
Web controls like textbox, text editor bar, are not loading in one community I own, jamesmurraynews.livejournal.com. The phrase "Edit [date]" bounces back and forth. Every control below the "post as" textbox control doesn't load (Subject textbox & label, UserPic label and drop down, text edit toolbar, tabs for Rich Text & HTML, large textbox to for entry, Tags label & textbox, mood label and textbox, etc.). I do not experience these problems on my journal (smokeygirl19.livejournal.com) or other community (chaosfanfic.livejournal.com).
Thanks, Sallly Lay

Thank you for your report. As a first troubleshooting step, please try clearing your browser's cache, as you may be viewing a version of the page that hasn't completely loaded. Information on clearing your browser's cache is in the referenced FAQ.
If this does not help, please reply so that we may investigate further. Specifically, are you using the same browser to post to all 3 of these journals? Also, are you using the pencil link or the navigation bar at the top of the journal to post, or is it the standard "Post" entry update form?

The solution you sent is not related to my problem...as owner, I cannot post at all to James Murray News due to controls not loading. I went ahead and performed the suggested refresh and deletions...no change.

Thank you for your reply. We need more information before we are able to investigate. When you're opening the page to post an entry, are you using the same browser to post to all 3 of these journals? Also, are you using the pencil link or the navigation bar at the top of the journal to post, or is it the standard "Post" entry update form?

This problem began Sunday, after some new updates were completed on LJ. If you wish to see the page that actually displays, I uploaded a screen print: http://pics.livejournal.com/manage/annotate?gal=22&ids=10.

I just tested the "Post" option in "Manage Communities," and got the same result. The screen print reflects the problems using both techniques mentioned in your reply.

To narrow down the cause of this issue can you try posting to this community using a different browser and let me know if you get the same error?

Works in Firefox, which I DON'T use. Does not work in IE8; everything worked in IE8 until May, 2011, when HTML div's started "migrating." There are two problems:
1. Controls don't load in IE8 (regularly used browser). Tested in Chrome and Firefox. Works in Firefox but not Chrome or IE 8. I AM NOT changing browsers and shouldn't have to. Good programming practice dictates coding to dominant browser (IE 8) and having it work in all next most common browsers (Firefox, Chrome).
2. Second problem, never resolved, is search button overlays on top of logout button. I noted the exclusive use of div's, which does cause a wrap around problem in IE8 and Firefox unless the CSS sets the right hand margin at a -17px from the right hand screen monitor margin. If divs are set and coded for Opera, the overlay problem occurs in other browsers. In IE8 and Firefox, using tables inside div's resolves the problem in HTML alone.
The problems I am seeing are reminiscent of a rewriting of HTML and CSS I had to do for a client who used a consultant who coded the web page for Opera. It failed miserably in IE8, Firefox, and Chrome. Once the CSS and HTML were coded for IE8, it worked in all browsers.

Thank you for responding back. This issue has been reported to developers. The information you've provided has also been forwarded to them to help in their investigation.
I'm afraid the link to the screenshot you provided doesn't work, as it's a link to your manage gallery page, which others are unable to access. The only screenshots I see in your ScrapBook are for a different problem. Please upload the screenshot again, and respond back with the public link.
It would also be helpful if you could save the "Webpage, complete" and upload it to the file hosting service of your choice, and respond back with a link. Our development team has requested this information to help in their investigation.
Thank you, in advance, for your help.
