You have reached LiveJournal support. You will need to contact WordPress support to learn why their feature is not working properly.

Well, dur...

According to WordPress, when an import is started, LJ acts like the repeated requests look like a dDoS attack and LJ servers.

First I get this:
Import LiveJournal
Importing Posts

We’re downloading and importing your LiveJournal posts...

Imported post ...
XML-RPC Request Failed -- -32700: parse error. not well formed

Then when I try again, I ALWAYS get this:

Import LiveJournal
Importing Posts

We’re downloading and importing your LiveJournal posts...

Uh oh – LiveJournal has disconnected us because we made too many requests to their servers too quickly.

We’ve saved where you were up to though, so if you come back to this importer in about 30 minutes, you should be able to continue from where you were.

I've been trying for 2 weeks and the best I've done is 110 journal imports. Any advice on how to get LJ to not think my import request is not some sort of attack?

I'm sorry for the delay in following up your request. Yes, the error message you report indicates that your WordPress imports are timing out because of high traffic at LiveJournal. However, there is nothing that LiveJournal users can do to make third-party tools better able to access their journals. You may wish to contact WordPress' support department again and ask them if they can adjust the way in which their import tool works so that LiveJournal does not reject its requests.
