» How do I upload images to Scrapbook?

You can upload new images to your Scrapbook either by pressing the Upload link in the upper right corner of your Scrapbook (or any of your albums), or by pressing the Insert/Edit Image button while posting an entry. After uploading files you can post pictures to your journal, move them to a different album, and manage your images.

From that page you will be able to change the title, description, and security of the image, set it as the cover image for its current album or change the album it's in, and delete it.

Other users can view your Scrapbook at http://exampleusername.livejournal.com/pics/catalog. This page can also be accessed by clicking the "Scrapbook" link in the statistics section at the top of your profile.

You can control who can see your Scrapbook pictures using the Security menu, found by clicking the security icon when uploading pictures or editing them later. There are three default security settings: Everyone (Public) (visible to anyone), Friends (visible to anyone on your Friends list), and Just Me (Private) (visible only to you). In addition, you can also choose any one of your custom friends groups.

Albums are collections of images that you have uploaded to Scrapbook. You can create new albums in a couple of ways: 1) Click the Create album link in the upper management-bar of your Scrapbook. 2) Choose (Create new) when moving an image to a different album or uploading images.
Once you have created an album you can change its title or description, change its security setting, or delete it and all the images it contains.

» Why can’t I upload an image to Scrapbook?

Problems with uploading new images to your Scrapbook can happen for various reasons.

First, make sure the image that you try to upload is under the file size limit, and is one of the supported file types (you can learn more about these limitations here). Also check whether the browser you are using is officially supported by LiveJournal and there are no add-ons or other applications running that are blocking the upload.
