Frequently Asked Question #264

What is the navigation strip? How do I modify its settings?

The navigation strip gives you easy access to common site features from a toolbar at the top of your journal and Friends pages. You can change your navigation strip using the Customize Journal Style page. If your account is set to use the old style system, see the Journal Display page to set your preferences.
You can choose to:
  • Always see the navigation strip when you view any journal or community
  • Always show the navigation strip to anyone who views your journal or community (even if the viewer has disabled it)
You can also choose from the two default colors (light grey or dark grey), make the colors match those of your theme or set custom colors, with or without the background gradient. Without the background gradient, it will use a single solid background color. Some of these features are not available to users of the old style system.

Some layouts or S1 styles may need updates before they will display the navigation strip.
