Known Issues
General:- Numerous reports of apparent Russian bot accounts are currently being investigated by LiveJournal's Abuse Prevention Team. You can report these accounts for further investigation using this form. As explained in this FAQ, these users cannot see any protected entries on your journal.
- If you are not receiving email notifications, please see the troubleshooting information here. You may also wish to report the problem to your email provider. You can also subscribe to be notified through the LiveJournal Inbox in addition to email.
Mobile Features:
- Access to the TxtLJ services via Verizon Wireless are currently unavailable. LiveJournal staff are working to restore these services. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please watch the
lj_releases community for updates. While this problem is being worked on, you may wish to post via e-mail from your phone instead. - Additionally, VoicePost access numbers outside the United States are currently unavailable. LiveJournal Staff are investigating.
Entries:
- A recent code release unintentionally altered the behavior of the Post an Entry page so that community entries will default to Members-Only if you have your journal's minimum security set as Friends-Only. This problem has been reported to LiveJournal's developers. In the meantime, you can change the security of your entry from Members-Only to Public using the security level dropdown while composing your entry.
- After clicking "Unscreen to reply" when replying to a screened comment, you must refresh the page before a "Reply" link will appear. Developers have been alerted to and are investigating this problem.
- Users are receiving Bad Unicode Input errors when trying to comment on articles in The Independent when their comments include certain characters that post without problems on regular LiveJournal entries. These characters include, but are not limited to, smart quotes (“” instead of ""), apostrophes (’ instead of '), em dashes (– instead of -), and the British Pound symbol (£). Until developers resolve this issue, you can avoid using these characters or replace them with their standards-compliant equivalents to avoid this error.
- The combination of lj-cuts and aligned text in entries composed in the Rich Text Editor can result in problems such as multiple lj-cuts appearing where there should only have been one, some content not being cut that should have been cut, and </div>s being added to the entry. LiveJournal developers are aware of these problems and are working to resolve them.
Scrapbook:
- Users who have selected the "Bind to IP Address" option at login are having difficulty using ScrapBook. Developers have been notified and will be investigating the issue. If you are experiencing problems logging in to ScrapBook and you have this option enabled, please try temporarily disabling it as this may resolve your problem in the short-term.
Web:
- If your journal, Friends page, or other page on the site is not appearing to update properly, please clear your browser cache and see if that resolves the problem before opening a request.
- Users are currently unable to change certain subscription tracking options, including "Someone comments in my journal, on any entry", "Someone replies to any comment I make", and "I comment in someone's journal, on any entry". LiveJournal developers are aware of this problem and will resolve it as soon as possible.
- The "Search your email contacts" function of the Find Your Friends feature is currently not working with some webmail providers, including Hotmail and Yahoo. LiveJournal developers are aware of this problem and will resolve it as soon as possible. In the meantime, you may wish to use the "search for an individual user" function.
