Marian spent the better part of two days sitting in the abandoned barn taking care of Guy.
The morning of the second day, there was a knock at the barn door. No one knew they were there other than the physician, so Marian went to the door and opened it.
Robin tried to push his way past her, “Nice place, I must say. Much nicer than the forest, I think I’d want to live here too.”
Marian pushed him outside and shut the door behind her.
“What do you want Robin?”
“You.”
“What, no sarcasm?”
“Marian, you used me.”
“Robin, you tried to barbeque the whole of Locksley!”
“That wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t think of Guy all the time.” Robin stated.
As if it was that simple.
“Every time you were with me you were really with him, weren’t you?”
“You’re jealous!”
Robin looked away angrily.
“You are, aren’t you?”
“Marian,” he said wearily, “if you love him, why did you leave him? Why did you come to me and give me false hope?”
Marian looked down at the ground, “I don’t…I don’t love him.” As soon as it came out of her mouth she realized how contradictory she was being.
“Look where you are!” And with that Robin left, his retreating back a reminder that she had finally made her choice.
Now there was no going back.

I’m dead, I’m dead and I’m in Hell, thought Guy, After all I died in a fire fit for the Devil himself.
The first thing Guy felt were hands, touching his cheeks and forehead, brushing back his hair.
Hell has changed.
Guy shut his eyes tighter, stealing himself for the horrors of his eternity. He slowly opened his eyes, and Marian was sitting next to him. He closed his eyes quickly, Well played Devil.
He had to see her again, even if it was just an illusion. Guy opened his eyes, this time Marian saw him.
“Guy!” She cried, and a flurry of kisses rained down on his face.
Guy laid there, waiting for her kisses to burn or for her to disappear altogether.
Neither happened.
Marian pulled away, “Guy?”
He reached up and fingered a strand of her hair, “You’re real.”
“Yes.” She said, as though it should be obvious.
“I’m not dead?”
She smiled, and his heart seemed to stop. “No.” She whispered, and kissed his forehead.
“Not that I’m complaining,” he said, his voice rough, “but why did you come back?”
Marian looked down at his still slightly swollen face, Djaq had been right; there were dark circles under his eyes.
“I love you.”
The corners of his mouth turned upward.
“I love you Guy.”
Now the smile threatened to break his face in two.
“I love you, I love you, I love you…”
Guy pulled her down onto the straw bed and kissed her.
“I love you.” He whispered, wrapping his arms around her. Marian buried her face in his shoulder, “I’ll never leave you ever again.”
He smiled, “That could get to be a problem.”
Marian looked up at him, “I missed you.”
“Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Guy murmured against her neck.
Marian pulled away from him suddenly, “Guy, what would you do if you could get away from the Sheriff?”
“Hmm,” he pondered, pulling her into his chest again, “I would take you to a far off land where I would hide you from the world and keep you for myself.”
Marian laughed, “Guy, really-“
“Marian can we not talk about this now?” He asked, kissing her neck.
“Very well.”
“Good.”
Soon the kisses turned to nibbles, and began traveling further down her neck.
“Guy,”
God, it was so good to hear her say his name like that.
“Guy,”
This time he stopped because of the sense of urgency that flooded her voice.
“The physician is going to come sometime today…probably soon.”
Guy groaned, “Do you plan this?”
Marian smiled, “Yes, of course.”
“Really?”
“No.” She said, giving him one last kiss and then getting up and walking toward the door.
“Where are you going?”
“To get you food.”
“I wasn’t kidding about that far away land and keeping you to myself Marian.” He called after her.
She peeked her head back in the door and smiled at him, “I know.”
