Настоящий американский блюз — что может быть интересней? 20 марта в 19-30 мы, как всегда, ждем вас в тель-авивском клубе "Азира"(ул.Ицхак Саде,45 зд. Синерамы) Кто лучше всех исполняет блюз? Его играют многие... французы, англичане, русские. «Блюз — это не музыка, а состояние души». Но именно поэтому лучше всего, как считают многие, блюз играют американцы. Представлять Дова Хаммера и его друзей нет нужды. Этот концерт для тех, кто любит это направление музыки — щемящую трель губной гармошки (кто на ней нынче играет?), взрывные импровизации гитары Саги Шорера, головокружительные переходы на барабанах Орена Ависара и мягкий, ухающий, непредсказуемый бас Голана Зисковича. Их команда давно признана как одна из лучших и по ту сторону океана и по эту. Каждая композиция словно снова пишется прямо на сцене — этим и хорош настоящий блюз.Закрываешь глаза и с бокалом хорошего бренди словно переносишься на много лет назад, в те времена, когда вся эта музыка только начиналась. В клубе «Азира» Вас ждет заказанный столик, где вы под идеально выстроенный звук сможете и поужинать, и выпить тот самый бренди. что-то жестокая неделя. много беготни и всё на ушах.
в среду кажется улетаю в отпуск, но отпуск этот даже не виден за той зверь-багой, с которой борюсь уже неделю (такой зверь, что в перерывах я чиню баги попроще в качестве отдыха). хуже нет, чем ковыряться в чужом старом коде, про который никто не помнит не то что как это работало, а работало ли вообще когда-нибудь. теперь еле-еле просвет появился. хотя вру, будет кое-что похуже - тестировать потом это всё.
а по вечерам ещё культураня прогармма типа театр-пиво-особый вечер-фотовыставка.
короче к пятнице я уже мечтала о субботней йоге в тайной надежде умереть прямо там на коврике в какой-нибудь маюрасане. сходила, на удивление осталась жива и вот опять на работе. потому что я трудоголик идиот и забыла вчера вчекинить лишние три строчки в одном из проектов, без которых в понедельник опять навернулся бы билд. |

Torchwood: Children of Earth.
What. The. Hell. Five episodes, five days, I was glued to the bloody TV and that kind of sums up my main reaction to it.
I think I could probably go on for quite a while about it, especially as I've not really talked to anyone IRL about it.
I am really glad that I stayed away from the internet and remained spoiler free, apart from seeing a few filming pictures last year (which were mostly from the team stealing stuff montage!). It was kinda odd watching the end of series 2 and having an awful sinking feeling that rumours I'd read online were just about to come true.
Most of the non-spoiler-y things I'd read, like in TV guides, I kind of agree with. There was a lot of action, the team did struggle and were out of their usually comfort zone.
I was kind of surprised that they blew up the Hub on Day One, I did think, where are they going with this? How can they do five days without the Hub? But then the action moved to London, and by Day Five, well.
I was slightly confused and then wondering about who exactly Agent Johnson was, and who exactly she was working for. Were they SAS, a Government assassination team, military, or all of the above? Because they were ordered by the Government to kill Jack and the others involved in 1965, but then at the end, they took things into their own hands when they liberated Jack and forced him to solve the problem with the 456. Maybe it would be clearer after another watching, I was prehaps too tense to pay attention to Johnson much while watching Day Five.
Honestly, I don't think I liked Lois that much, and I don't particularly like myself for thinking it, partly because I'm not entirely sure what my reasons for not liking her are. The fact that she was sort of naive, and yet really wanted to help, she slightly reminded me of Gwen, maybe it's something to do with RTD's writing. Anyway, I think perhaps I don't like her because it all seemed slightly unrealisitic that she'd be allowed that close to Frobisher (although it was a time of emergency and they needed an extra pair of hands I suppose) and that she was able to look through the restricted files the way she did, and then she started on about treason later, when she'd used someone else's login and password to view restricted files, which surely is almost as bad.
Ianto's sister telling Gwen that his father worked at Debenhams was kind of heartbreaking. For both Gwen, who was obviously hurt by being told she didn't know him, and still grieving. Also for Ianto because for me it seemed like a reminder of just how young Ianto was, the idea that he lied about his father (and that was obviously a very complex father-son relationship but I'm getting off the point going into that), it's about the fact that I don't think Ianto truly knew who he was, because even though he'd been through so much in his life, he was still only in his twenties. An odd thing about Ianto's lie for me was that when Ianto turned up at his sister's house, I remember thinking, what about their parents? Did their family live on that estate too, and Ianto left as soon as he was old enough or did that just happen to be where his sister lived? I wondered if maybe Ianto's mother was a bit chavvy and her and his father fell in love. Or if his sister had fallen in love with her chavvy husband and she'd got pregnant and married young, and they'd only been able to afford an ex-council house. I didn't quite make the connection that Ianto could have been lying about his family, but seeing his sister was an interesting hint that he was.
I know a lot of people are saying it's not Torchwood, but I think it started off as Torchwood, and then by the end of Day five, everything that was Torchwood was destroyed. Literally, in the sense that the Hub was blown up and the SUV was stolen, and also because Ianto died and Jack left. There was also none of the humour and slight absurdity that most people expect from Torchwood in Day Five, which was there in the first few days, it was sucked away in favour of breaking viewer's hearts.
I'm now wondering if Captain Jack will turn up in DW at any point, and if he does, what will he be like? Part of me is hoping he will, just because surely seeing him with the Doctor couldn't be more hopelessly depressing than seeing him leaving a sobbing, pregnant Gwen.
I could write so much more, but I don't think I'd have the space and I don't really have the time either! :( Anyway as some point I think I might go through each episode and character perhaps, and my overall opinion of the series.
I still love Torchwood, but it's a very different Torchwood now, if it even exists at all.
(Oh and I still want to work for Torchwood, and Christ it's made me want to do something, something with my life, or just get ou, get away from here and change something. Despite what Jack said there's a big world out there, and my job I waited months for just makes me hate the world and forget that there's more to life.) |

I'm done with BNCOC and I finally get to go home...next week. I can wait a few more days though. I'm just glad that its over. It was such a waste of time. The only thing that I probably got out of this course was the information that I got from the active army soldiers in my class. I was the only reserve guy and everyone else was active. So I get to go home while they get to go to their respective unit stations and play army again, everyday. I don't know if I can do that. I learned a lot about active army from those guys and it got me thinking about going active. On one hand, it'd be nice to actually be able to do my MOS, which never happens in the reserve side, if I went active. But on the other hand, I'll have to leave home for lord knows how long. I like putting on my uniform and being a soldier and all that stuff, but I don't know if I can do that everyday. The army just makes me feel so...restrained. I felt that way from this two week course and I felt the same way from my last deployment. Granted, the military order and structure are good for me and keep me from being too self-destructive, but are they really? I ETS in two years. I have a deployment and grad school up ahead. I might go active. Who knows? I have to wait this out. |
