Viper and You'll Have That creator Wes Molebash have collaborated in creating a truly awesome contest...Here are the details:::
Here's your chance to make a guest appearance in a future You'll Have That comic strip and win some great prizes! All you have to do to enter is send an e-mail to yhtcontest@vipercomics.com with the following information:
1. Give us some basic information about yourself! Who's your favorite band? What's your favorite book? What's your pet peeve? Whatever you want us to know about you. Be as long or as short as you want; just give us some background information on what makes you tick!
2. If there was a character in the You'll Have That universe based on you, how would your character be linked to the existing characters? Was your character best friends with Andy in the third grade? Did your character date Katie in high school? Is your character the second cousin of the guy who was best friend's with Steve's sister in junior high? Be as creative as you want! This is the section of the entry we will be judging for creativity!
A panel of judges (including myself) will decide the winner based on what we feel is the most creative background story of your potential guest character! Basically, make the second part of the entry as creative as possible, because that's what's gonna win you loot, bub.
When the winner is announced, we will send an e-mail to him/her asking for a picture. This will help me do a caricature of the guest character. File types and sizes for the picture will be discussed when we e-mail the winner.
If you win, not only will you be featured in a You'll Have That comic strip(s), but you'll also win some fabulous Viper swag. What kind of Viper swag? How's this for you:
A Dead@17 Revolution trade paperback, a Daisy Kutter trade paperback, a Josh Howard Vol. 1 Art Book, one copy of The Middleman, one copy of Karma Incorporated, a set of You'll Have That buttons, and a You'll Have That poster. On top of all that, you'll get a Viper messenger bag so you can carry it all over to your friends' houses and rub it in their faces!
Now, if guest starring in a comic strip and winning fabulous swag weren't enough, I'm going to throw in all the original artwork from your guest appearance in my strip! This includes all the original strips and sketches of your guest character!
So what are you waiting for? The contest starts today, Friday, July 1st and ends on Friday, July 15th! You've got two weeks to send in your entries, so get crackin'! We'll announce the winner on Monday, July 18th (my birthday)! Again, the e-mail address for contest entries is yhtcontest@vipercomics.com!
*If you have questions, please visit the YHT forums or feel free to e-mail me at wesmolebash(at)gmail(dot)com!
Yep, I'm a few days late in posting, but you've still got plenty of time. Get crackin' Lots of great PRIZES!!!

As mentioned before in the "Sites of Significance" entry a while back I would update when I knew of someone else's website. Apparently, I've learned of someone else's website and that person is Mr. Tom Kurzanski. Name sound familiar? It should. He's the awesome artist contributing his talents to Karma Incorporated! (which comes out this month and is being premiered at SDCC! In case anyone forgot)

The site has "illustrations and other goodies for your viewing pleasure. There are even a few easter eggs if you can find 'em." So check out his site and let him know what you think. Comment here or at the Karma Incorporated forums.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!!!
Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to say that once again I have managed to neglect the community...I'm not going to bother with apologies or excuses this time...(and hey no one else posts in here right? :oP) so we're just going to focus on the now and future involving things Viper Comics lol. So yeah Flashback Reviews: Part 2 is probably not going to be seeing the light of day... Hope that doesn't disappoint anyone.
Anywho, some might be wondering if I am going to flood this community shortly with posts? The answer to that is...most likely. There are quite a few things going on that are more than worth mentioning so I'm going to go ahead and get to some of that and wrap this up. Hmm...[ponders] is there anything else I should mention here? Not really any other announcements are way off so I'll do those closer to the date. Ciao for now folks.

Heh came across it and thought to post, yeah I know just doesn't seem like I'll get to the Flashback Reviews: Part 2 lol, but I will. Anyway. Josh Howard fans enjoy if you haven't read this already.
Catching Up With Josh Howard by James W. Powell-"Josh Howard was thrust into the spotlight toward the end of 2003 when Viper Comics released Dead @ 17, a 4-issue miniseries about a young girl resurrected from the dead to battle demons from the underworld. Now, Howard's saga concludes with Dead @ 17: Revolution...or does it? I caught up with Howard days before the collected version of the final chapter was released to get the scoop on the future of the franchise and the creator, too...."

I read this and thought it was a really good interview to post. It gives some great insight about Karma Incorporated like the characters/story and what he's worked on and will be working on. So if you want to know more about his comic check it out.
Equal Footing interview with David Hopkins-"You're working on a new series for Viper Comics called Karma Incorporated, what's it about?" "Ah, the pitch? 'Two con artists, two hackers, and a retired hit man go into business, turning a profit on minor sabotage. These mischief-makers wreck havoc on everyone from the average Joe to the corporate CEO.' You should always memorize the pitch!"

Part one features some reviews of Kazu Kibuishi's graphic novel, Daisy Kutter. I own a copy and read it the day I purchased it. The artwork was amazing and I really dug the story. The two, I feel, are in perfect sync. I hadn't gotten around to getting the individual issues of Daisy Kutter, but Kazu informed me that it was made for the graphic novel format and I agree. If you haven't had a chance to check out Daisy Kutter at all, just take a glimpse at some of the reviews to get an idea of what you're missing out on.

The Reviews
Snap Judgments by Randy Lander-"Mix equal parts George Lucas, Miyazaki and Sergio Leone and you've got some idea what to expect from Daisy Kutter, the western/sci-fi adventure by Kazu Kibuishi. In structure, The Last Train is very much a pure western, complete with poker, a train heist, an outlaw struggling with her choice to live in or outside the law and a corrupt robber baron, but it has a sci-fi tweak in the form of a couple memorable robots and a quick-moving, animated style art look that helps to keep it light and fun." Read the complete review here: http://www.thefourthrail.com/reviews/snapjudgments/020705/daisykuttertp.shtml
Line of Fire Reviews by Keith Dallas-"Although the 'gunslinger pulled out of retirement for one last job' plot is derivative, it nevertheless remains compelling IF engaging elements are thrown into the mix…, and Daisy Kutter does just that. Instead of being gruff, grizzled and squinty-eyed, the retired gunslinger in this story is a gruff, 'girl with the curl' (quite literally), carrying a shotgun whose length and power really qualify it as portable artillery."

DAISY KUTTER: THE LAST TRAIN REVIEW by Andrea Speed-"This is a true genre bender, in the best sense of the word, and as such it’s difficult to describe it correctly. It did remind me of Cowboy Bebop, in that when you describe its separate elements, it sounds a bit tepid, and odd, but when you actually see it for yourself, you realize it’s more than the sum of its parts. Certainly I felt lukewarm about this series when I first heard about it, but it turned out to be one of the best [things] Viper has ever done."

Book Marx:Daisy Kutter:The Last Train by Tommy Marx-"I am seriously in love."

Apparently, I haven't posted anything in well over 2 weeks now. I'd say I have other "projects" going on, but that's not really the case. I mean I have other journals and such I tend to, but it's moreless just having moments where I'm not sure what to post or just don't have that much time. Sometimes I just get frustrated with my comp (I have dial-up) and others I'm lost in reading/foruming/social activities.
So with that being said...I'll try to figure out a few things to post soon, and keep the "neglect" to a minimum lol.

Yes, it (Revolution #4) is out and Dead@17 has reached a conclusion, but that doesn't mean you can't still talk about it right? Do you have a favorite villian? Series? Heroine? Well then you need to tell Josh Howard about it, and you can by stopping by the forums on his site and voting on the polls.
Here's a direct link Dead@17 Fan Awards
Become a member and join in the discussions, or at the very least sign in as a guest and vote and leave comments :D So come on and "Vote! It's your civil duty!"-Josh Howard
Also, if you missed out on the Revolution series or just an extreme fan then be on the look out for the Trade Paper Back! I don't know about you but I know I'm getting one.
Hmmm why that came out so huge...I don't know. But it looks sweet doesn't it?

Webcomic on Viper

If you enjoy comic strips and you like what you see, you'll want to check out "You'll Have That" created by Wes Molebash. The webcomic was a new idea Viper decided on a while back and Molebash's first official strip appeared on the Viper site December 6, 2004. Aside from just checking out his strip, you also get some insight into the creator's world, his inspirations and whatever rants he has when you read his News blog located just below the strip.
If you're a person that favors print comic strips as opposed to the web, guess what? By the end of the year one of Viper's goals is to have a "You'll Have That" book. Unfortunately, I don't have any specifics on it just yet, but there will be one, and if you continue to show your support and interest in YHT there's no telling what other merchandise will develope.
As a result of his contribution to Dead@17's Rough Cut Vol.2, and having a lot of support and fans this past Saturday (April 16) Wes participated in his first comic book signing at ACME Comics a local comic book store in his hometown Chillicote, Ohio. If you'd like to see what took place and what you missed out on stop by the forums and take a look at the photos he posted capturing the event. Better yet, here's a link Comic Signing Pics!!!
To see the rest of the strips that follow the sample just click here ( More You'll Have That ) NOTE: unfortunately due to resizing and saving in a different format some of the quality of the strips are compromised
The image you see is actually a flyer that you can download at the site if you really dig YHT and you want to help spread the word just print it out and distribute around your local comic shops or wherever you'd like to post them to help out.

July is going to be a great month for Viper Comics and here's why...
The Middleman (Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Les McClaine)-"Your reality is a sham. Your way of life is constantly under attack by monsters, aliens and talking primates - and the reason you and the rest of the pink-skinned normal world don’t know it? THE MIDDLEMAN. Working in absurd secrecy, aided by talented amateur Wendy Watson, the Middleman stares down threats extra- infra- and juxta-terrestrial with a big gun and a have-a-nice-day grin. The Middleman: he fights evil, so you don't have to!" Preview the first issue here -->>The MiddleMan You can also check out info about the creator and artist there.
Karma Incorporated (David Hopkins, Tom Kurzanski, and Marlena Hall)-"Ever have a bad day? What if it's not coincidence? Karma Incorporated is the story of two con artists, two hackers, and a retired hit man who go into business, turning a profit on minor sabotage. These mischief-makers wreck havok on everyone from the average Joe to the corporate CEO. No one is safe, if the money is right." Preview the first issue here -->>Karma Inc. Also for even more info regarding Karma Inc. check out David's site Karma Inc. antihero style
Both of these titles are scheduled to premiere at the San Diego Comic Con International and may make their debuts with exclusive covers find these books and the creators at the Viper Comics booth.
But wait there's still more....
I already mentioned a sketchbook by Josh Howard, now I'm announcing the Josh Howard Artbook!
The Art of Josh Howard Vol. 1-"This volume showcases tons of all new, never-before-seen art by Josh Howard, creator of Dead @ 17. Best known for his unique rendition of cute & sexy females, Josh has assembled a brand new collection of school girls, pin up beauties, and punk rock hotties. If you're a fan of Josh or just an admirer of "cute girl" art, you won't want to miss this limited edition volume."
Inticing isn't it? This is 72 pages folks and how much will it be? Only $11.95! Color and Black and White pages. The sketchbook sold out before but luckily found it's way back into the Viper store, so there's no doubt this will follow down the same path but who knows if this book will make a comeback!
