If anyone is interested, Planet Organic Market is looking for a part time cashier. It's a pretty decent job, and there haven't been a lot of resumes in. So, if anyone's looking for a job, drop by during the week, and there's a pretty good chance you can get it.

the fairfield thrifty's in hiring soon in the bakery department..we've lost two employees on x-mas day(lucky buggers went to Australia) and i got re-hired before they left to cover for one of them..but they are still gonna need to replace the other employee..plus we have an employee leaving for a camp job next week and i believe another one is leaving for a higher paying job with the canada post soon...so anyways what i'm saying is..if you need a job, you're good with customers and you're a hard worker..the bakery will be hiring soon so get your resumes in. the job is for bakery clerk, so you basically package all the goods, stock the shelves, deal with customers and a bit of cleaning. i don't think they care if you apply as full-time or part-time, and my assistant manager rick who does the scheduling is pretty good at making sure he doesn't book you to work when you have a class(and if he does, it always fixes it the second you bring it to his attention). okay, that's enough of my rambling!

Hey all.
The company I work for had an ad in the classifides over the weekend, but got no response. I've decided to try here.
I work for Aloyd Fitness Equipment (www.aloyd.com). It's a pretty small company, only about 7 guys working for us right now. We recently lost one of our sales guys and are looking to replace him. I'm thinking it's part time for now, but i'm not totally sure. Sales experience/knowledge is a plus. Sales guys at Aloyd are not on commission. As it is a fitness equipment company, it's preferred that all our employees be physically fit. A drivers liscence is definately a bonus.
We're located in the Selkirk development near the Gorge Tim Hortons. Further directions can be found on the website. Come on in and drop off a resume, or email them to my manager, chris@aloyd.com
Any other questions, feel free to ask.

so my boyfriend is looking for a new job, because his boss isn't getting him or his friend any work(and that's a problem when his friend has to support a one year old!). they are painters, so something in that field would be best, although my boyfriend's worked with a construction company when he was 16. neither of them gradded from highschool, which would make it hard for them to really get any job other than as painters and such, because they are 20. anyways, i was wondering if any of you knew if any of the painting companies were hiring? we have two leads, my boyfriends been approached by two guys from different companies telling him he'd make $15-20/hr but if their boss aren't hiring as it turns out or don't want either of them, it would be nice to know someplace else to try. thanks!

La Collina bakery is looking for people for a variety of positions, shifts, (including evenings, nights and days), and locations - see their employment page, here: http://www.lacollina.ca/employment.h tml

Thought I'd post another job offer. They're looking to hire two new front people full time at La Collina's Bakery on Cedarhill. I love my job there but I can only work part-time with school, so if you're a social butterfly (guy or girl), can handle a fairly busy atmosphere and like bread, sweets and coffee you should totally come and apply. Shifts go by really fast and fun is to be had. Hope to see you applying ya'll!

So I finally having internet back so I can finally ask this question.
I need a new job. I really don't enjoy the one I have(besides having fun joking around with most of my co-workers and managers). Right now I work in fastfood and I really don't want to end up staying there forever like so many people I work with have. I could go and apply at Thirftys since I know they are almost always hiring..and I've worked in their bakery by my house, but I'd rather use that as a last option since I didn't really enjoy working for that company.
So anyone know of any job openings that a 18 year old(with plenty of customer service experience, cashier experience, hard working team player) would have a chance at?

I've looked on the Job Bank, on the Canada.com site under Victoria..with no real luck. Tomorrow I'm gonna get him the newspaper..but in the meantime..
My boyfriend is going back to school to finish highschool, but he still needs a job to support himself. He had a job this summer with Island Blue Print..but it was nightshifts and he can't do that while going to school. He's 20 and has no facial peircings or tattoos, so theres nothing like that for employers to have to think about..and pretty much any job(although I don't think retail would be good cuz he gets bored easily) that he could do around his schedule for school(10am-3pm) would work awesome. So if any of you know of anything coming up, I'd love it if you replied..so tomorrow I can kick his butt to check out the places. :)

I've given in! Sitting around in my pajamas all day is not as profitable as one would hope. I need a job!
Dear Victoria,
I am a twenty-year-old girl with two visible facial piercings (small, tasteful septum and labret) and not-so-shockingly dyed hair (blonde and black). I have a decent amount of retail experience, lots of customer service experience, and a crazy amount of design and art experience. I am an outgoing, personable-type-person. I've worked in clothing stores and I've done portrait photography and I've sold shoes and I've cut fabric and I've opened stock, but the last year of my life has been spent doing web and graphic design, holed up in my bedroom, sitting on my tush. I am tired of doing my own accounting and secretarial work.
If you know of any jobs in the downtown, Hillside or Fort St. areas that are hiring people like me, please let me know! I can work full-time although I wouldn't mind working part-time, either. Nothing food-related except for maybe cafes. Ten jillion bonus points if you can point me in the direction of a company looking to hire a web/graphic designer/developer who codes in CSS and w3c-compliant XHTML.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
Sincerely,
Malloreigh

I added
victoria_jobs to my friends list but it won't let me post there yet so i'll put this up here
I currently work at Big Brothers and Big Sisters as a Telephone Rep. I call people for 4 hours a day 5 days a week and ask them for donations. We're DESPERATE for people at work for all shifts. They're usually 4 hours a day from 9-1 or 5-9 with early release on Friday's. The office is VERY laid back and comfortable. I hate working and people and am happily employed there, I love not having to deal with customers face to face. When i started there i'd been in retail for 3 years and it was such a nice break. I'm not sure about the availability of fulltime work but they're super understanding and great people to work for.
Anyone interested can contact me or just show up @ Big Brothers which is located at the end of Bay St. (over the bridge in Vic West) beside Rona, across from The Westside Village where Save-On is and fill out an application.
It's a great job for students or anyone else looking to pick up a solid 20 hours a week with a fixed schedule.
