My dear friend visited Stockholm last summer and as she knows that I love ugly cards, I received this few days after she came back. "Smack" means kiss.

Here are a couple from my ziploc baggie of choicest homely postcards:
North American XB-70 "Valkyrie" XB-70, world's most exotic aircraft, was designed in the 1950's as high-altitude bomber flying three times the speed of sound. Due to limited funds, only two built as research aircraft to study aerodynamics, propulsion, and other aspects of large supersonic aircraft. Surviving XB-70 was retired to AF Museum, W-PAFB, Ohio, in 1969.
Skyline of Austin, Texas, from U. S. 81 expressway.
And God bless TinyPic, the image host who offers a way to make a truly awful thing just a little bit worse: http://tinypic.com/flek.php?f=9ru59k&s=2.

Late 70s postcard from Marine Life in Gulfport, MS. Caption on back reads: The act, "on the back" of the porpoise, is a spectacular attraction here, where the sea comes alive before your eyes. There's something before the eyes, I'm sure--even the porpoise seems to be smiling...

[06 Dec 2007|05:38pm] |
Normally I wouldn't post anything not jackalope related, but this was just too ugly. That poor tree getting tons of smoke in its face! I got this card from my grandma after she went to Germany.
