Once Upon A Time In China - classic! Reservoir DogsOcean's Twelve - at least on first watching. pere_chan: wow, it's been a while...

My goodness, but I'm getting erratic with this community. Sorry, all. This week's post: your top ten Greek myths, because I'm on a roll. ^_^ Moderator's list: 12 tasks of Heracles Prometheus Eros and Psyche Perseus and the Gorgons Bellerophon and the Chimaera Hyacinth and Apollo Adonis and Aphrodite (especially Old Will's version, Venus and Adonis) Oedipus and the Sphinx (but not the bits that came afterwards) Theseus and the Minotaur The fate of Ganymede The first three are in order of preference. The first story I ever remember reading--the first story I ever remember--is the story of Heracles. That kind of thing tends to leave an impression.

pere_chan: Happy New Year!!!

Hello all and Happy New Year! I wanted to go on last Saturday and have you guys post a list of top ten favorite Christmas foods, and then this week ask you your top ten New Year's resolutions. But we've been having stormy weather and Internet interference, so I missed my chance. Want to do two top tens instead, this week? Ok then. First list: top ten favorite food that you guys had this Christmas. Second list: your top ten new year's resolutions. I love you all and want lots more years with you as friends!

pere_chan: oops.

Um...o.O Looks like everybody was busy last week. But I like Ly's idea so much I've decided to leave it up again this week, to see if we get any good lists. So, to reiterate: If someone made a movie of your life, what would the soundtrack be like? Choose the top ten songs on your life soundtrack. You can add an explanation if you like...or not. ( Moderator's list )Phew! That was hard. Go on, you try it. Lots of songs omitted, of course, it's a whole life after all, and we only have ten positions on the list. I did mine in chronological order, but you don't have to. edit: added lyrics, because I suddenly realised they were apt as well. I actually tend to soundtrack my life as it goes along. Grand delusions...

lyrakristine: Hello Everybody!

Our moderator is drowning in school stuff (so send her lots of love and support!) and she asked me to do our week's top ten: Songs of Your Life's Soundtrack Wed, Dec. 1st, 2004, 10:35 pm
pere_chan: sorry...

Hey all, sorry about last Saturday. You're all on my protected friends list, so you know why I didn't post that time. Things are better now. But one side effect of my black mood has been my staying inside and reading all kinds of random material, and that has inspired today's list. Name your top ten favorite couples. Fiction or historical, fanon or canon, completely weird pairings...go nuts. ^_^ You can include your own characters too, if you want. Since this is such a small list, and most people here know each other, I don't have to worry about flamers. Yay, that's such a relief! Still, expect man-love on my list. *unabashed* Moderator's list: The Beast and the girl ( The Tiger's Bride, Angela Carter) Curt Wild and Brian Slade ( Velvet Goldmine) Gingetsu and Ran ( Clover, CLAMP) Hephaestion and Alexander the Great (tenuously historical, but in particular as they were portrayed in Fire From Heaven by Mary Renault) George Koizumi and Yukari Hayasaka ( Paradise Kiss, Ai Yazawa) Shinomori Aoshi and Takani Megumi ( Rurouni Kenshin, Nobuhiro Watsuki)--and I know just who to blame, too! Kurogane and Fye D. Flowright ( Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, CLAMP) Imp y Celyn and Susan Sto Lat ( Soul Music, Terry Pratchett) Ginger Kincaid and Skank Zero Hopeless-Savage ( Hopeless Savages: Ground Zero, Jan Van Meter and Bryan O'Malley) Lord Asriel and Mrs Coulter ( His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman)

pere_chan: guest list!

This week's list courtesy of saki_g. Name the top ten weirdest movies you've ever seen--and indicate whether you think they're weird in a good or bad way. Special note: Please notice I said "you think". pere_chan: oh. my. lord.

Wow. I was so sleepy when I made this Saturday's post that I forgot to post it to the community and posted it on my own journal instead. Brilliant, folks. I must never be allowed to operate heavy machinery. Or delicate machinery. Or indeed, any machinery at all. *turns Amish*

pere_chan: hello all!

It's finally Saturday! I definitely have to post now--going to the Barbican first thing tomorrow, so don't want to miss a Saturday post again. I've been quite a bad moderator lately... Whee for chocolate-covered coffee beans!!!

pere_chan: sorry!

Sorry for missing the past two weeks! Livejournal is going nuts, and I have to pry my cousin's laptop out of his fingers just to update. So here's the current list: Name the top ten people you'd most like to take out and shoot. Note: I mean specifically, not just a group of people like "politicians" or "girls who think Avril Lavigne invented punk". I want names, people. Or at least distinguishing physical features. ^_^

pere_chan: New list!

It's still Saturday! ;P The last five minutes of it, anyway. Idea originally from petronia: top ten redheads in fiction. (Actually hers was top ten books with redheads in them.) In no particular order, moderator's choices: Door, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman Menolly, Harper Hall novels by Anne McCaffrey Nausicaa, Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind by Hayao Miyazaki Quentin McLeod, Highlander animated series Shidou Hikaru, Magic Knight Rayearth by CLAMP Himura Kenshin, Rurouni Kenshin by Nobuhiro Watsuki Jamie Fraser, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon Jean Grey, X-Men (who created her, anyway? I am woefully behind in Marvel knowledge.) Ariel, Disney's The Little MermaidPaul, Audrey Hepburn's Neck by Alan Brown Which gives rise to some questions, such as: What is "red"? Devi in Jhonen Vasquez's I Feel Sick has violet hair, although in the black-and-white Johnny the Homicidal Maniac her hair is inked black. Miwako of Ai Yazawa's "Paradise Kiss" has pink hair (most of the time), as does Hikaru of Angelic Layer. Is Sakura Kinomoto a blond or a redhead? Manga is harder because the characters can change hair color from illustration to illustration, plus most of it is done in black-and-white anyway. So this list only counts true redheads, but if you're in doubt stick the characters in an honorable mention. Mon, Sep. 13th, 2004, 10:08 am
pere_chan: Ack!!!

Everybody, so sorry!!! I've been so busy I totally forgot to post this week's top ten! This week it's your top ten favorite songs to play in bad weather.
