It showed at first in the small details. Trouser creases that weren't perfectly straight. Slightly frayed cuffs. Shirts without starch. Then the shoes were scuffed and the tie clip was crooked. Soon there was no tie to clip. No suits to have pressed. Only jeans and big shirts, covering the reminders of greasy take-out dinners and too many shots of Jack Daniels. His appearance spoke loudly what his heart could never say. Mornings with grizzled cheeks and chin. Curls along his nape growing long and unruly. Like him. Raging against life's unfairness. Unable to keep step, keep right, keep up.

And it's Saturday again. Strange how that always seems to happen every seven days. In any case, the SVU Season 9 Ep Challenge is now over (though you can catch the S9 marathon on USA today, lol). Thanks to mikelogan_3728x4, bast2, midtownangel, sipman, and myself for the entries.

The Money challenge is now closed. Thanks to the following writers for the great drabbles: uisge_beatha, daf9, redwingx (3 times!), mikelogan_3728 (3 times!), havers, bre_the_writer, and pr1nce55k1tcat. (Sorry, LJ won't let me format the names as journal links.)
Our new challenge will be SVU episode titles from season 9. Find a list here. You may choose a title and base your entry around that concept. You may write about any L&O characters you wish. Your drabble does not have to mirror the episode...just use the title any way you like. You have the usual 100 words...due next Saturday.
BTW, it wasn't until I looked at the list of all SVU eps that I realized nearly every title is only one word. Interesting.
