Concerning TaleSpin and CDRR on Toon Disney (USA).
Sadly, you guessed it TaleSpin and Chip 'N' Dale Rescue Rangers gets booted off tomorrow, as a new week starts. TaleSpin is getting replaced by The Proud Family and CDRR will be replaced with Recess. TS and CDRR will still appear once in a while in those back-to-back stacks played during Fridays and on weekends, but they aren't going to be a regular show anymore, for now.

Goof Troop will still be staying at its current time-slot, however. And that's really the only older show left on the regular line-up of the channel as of now.

Sorry to report the sad news, but maybe could this be a small sign that the last of the DVD sets are shortly to come? Well, we can at least hope can't we? ;-)

Goodbye to Schroeder/Good Riddance to Schroeder
Due to personal, social/emotional reasons (and a lot of bad decisions I have made which have evidently hurt and disappointed a lot of people I care for deeply) I don't wish to talk about publicly or privately out of respect for all concerned, I no longer have (or wish to have) a LiveJournal. I apologize to everyone regarding this, but things have turned out very badly, I highly likely have to cut ties as a result (no one not willing to have them cut), and I feel happier posting exclusively in the TaleSpin and Rescue Rangers fan communities, and via e-mail.

T'was fun while it lasted, but now it's time to stop. :-/

I don't admit to being perfect, far from it, and I mean (and meant) nobody any harm or hurt. But apparently I'm quite capable of doing just that, and it would be the responsible thing now to disintegrate into the earth just leave and start over. Maybe I'll make wiser decisions in the end. Maybe. Maybe pigs will fly. Maybe. *headdesk* :-p

I fully apologize to anyone I've hurt or upset for whatever reason, either before this decision or due to this decision. I sincerely wish everyone here all the best, and hope to see you around soon, at least whoever still wishes to still be seen with me. :-(

Time to go. You know where to find me.

Not sure how to manage the communities' settings to both leave the community and pass control to anyone, but whoever wants it can have it.

Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines

Earlier tonight, I was thinking of the 1965 comedy movie, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, Or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 Hours 11 Minutes, and I thought "Wouldn't the theme from that movie be a great TaleSpin song?" What does everyone else think?

    TaleSpin T-shirts!
It'd been a while since I walked into a Hot Topic, but the one near me (Bay Area, CA) has Tale Spin shirts! Just thought you'd like to know, if you didn't already.

What it looks like is just the standard TaleSpin Title logo with Baloo, on an azure blue shirt. I'd have picked one up, but I really don't like azure blue ("Brain Damage Blue") as a shirt color.

They do have a Darkwing Duck design on black, and that's way cool.

A thought for a new TaleSpin music video.
I mentioned about this on High Flight a little back, but thought I would ask about it here as well.

I've had a thought for quite sometime of what might make a good new TaleSpin music video, like one a user could put up on You Tube or something similar. There's many great TS music videos on there. I don't think this one has been done though.

I was thinking it would be cool to see if someone could make one with scenes from the episodes "Flight School Confidential" and "Stormy Weather", and using the song "It's My Turn To Fly" by "The Urge".

In case you are not familiar with the song I'm referring to, you can take a listen to it here:

I don't make music videos at all. Though I thought this would make a great one. It's just a thought. What do you guys think of it?

    Plane Crazy
I don't remember seeing anyone post this here, but thought it wouldn't hurt to post it again anyway.

    Plane Crazy (1/3)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPtS54MEumk
    Plane Crazy (2/3)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln-YkY7OM9E
    Plane Crazy (3/3)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAvnc_NcIMg

I know it'll sound funny, but I -really- thought it was a good show.  If I'd been at Disneyland when I was younger I'd have forced my parents into sitting through that whole thing.  (And making sure that I was sitting towards the left of the stage...it seemed like Karnage favored it.  XD)

"Dale smale...chip dip.  Who cares?"  XD

    talespin official tee
Was in Hot Topic today and saw this baby!

    Link to buy here

Too bad they only had it in men sizes...I would've totally bought it if it were a babydoll tee :3 They're missing the whole female market here!

Nice to see something official though :]

    Real Life TaleSpin Aircraft
I know it's probably been brought up before, but since I'm trying to stimulate some conversation around here, what kind of planes do you think inspired the ones in TaleSpin?

I'm fortunate enough to live very near to the USAF Musuem in Dayton, Ohio and usually get to go at least once or twice every year (Woot. I luffs the airplanes.)

My particular favorite out of all of the planes on display happens to be this one:

    http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=338

It's almost disgustingly cute, isn't it? (And how many people do you know that honestly describe an aircraft as 'cute'? Not many, I'll bet. :))

That one in particular is a reproduction aircraft, meaning it's not 'real' age-wise, but was built to the specs (I don't know if it can fly or not. Presumably -yes-, but not all of the planes are in actual shape to get airborne.)

Why'd I bring it up? Stick another two sets of wings on it and paint it black and red and you'd have Don Karnage's plane almost perfect. XD No one understands why I stand there and stare at it for so long waiting for people. LOL I want to hug it but the USAF Museum frowns on it.

    http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=2195 <- Another article.

It also fits the timeline of the show fairly well. If anyone wants to see bigger pictures, I have some from my last couple of visits.

Not really TaleSpin related, but my other two 'friends':

    http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=494 <- The Strawberry Bitch (<3)
http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=284 <- Betty Jo (possibly the -weirdest- plane I've ever seen...)

The only plane I really -do not- like is Bockscar. That damn thing freaks me out and you -have- to walk by it to get out of the building. Arrrrrgh! ( http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=527 <- Go, get the willies from it too.)
