Joined a knitting club
I recently joined a local knitting club called stitch n' munch. We meet twice a month at some local Panera Breads, and eat, drink, and knit! I'm glad I've found something to join that gets me (and my knitting) out of the house!
It's really fun!

Quick question, if anyone's still out there--
I'm picking up some knitting again (after a year or so stand off with my needles), and I'm reading this pattern and thinking--what the hell do all these abbreviations mean?

If anyone could just help my lameass self, that'd be great.

Ex. CO 1st., pm, k1tbl, p4, etc.

I know what the CO and p stands for, clearly, but knit 1 tbl? Thanks in advance.

Go, Me!
Things are certainly quiet here at TBTK. Are people not knitting any more? Are they confident enough to not need a support group?

I quit knitting after I started working full-time again, but I'm back and at it again.

i just wanted to announce publicly that I've mastered the M1 increase and can move on to knitting this round blanket situation I've had my eye on for the last year or so (... when I have time again, I'll knit... someday... etc)

Who's working on something?

Vickie Howell's Pattern
http://www.vickiehowell.com
I'm currently making the Hand Like A Hole from her website. I'm making the large, and I've noticed something. I think there might be a small eroor in the patter. The pattern told me to knit 19 stitches, knit 1, yo, knit 2 yo2, knit 3, yo3, knit4, yo4, then knit 5. I wound up knitting 6 stitches when I reeached the end of the row. I took it apart, and then I knit 20 stitches, and continued with the pattern. I figured out that if your making the large, you need to knit 20 stitches as soon as you achieve 4 inches.

Feeling:: confused

This is serious business.
I've been attempting to knit everything from scarves to socks to hats, and everything I make has never turned out right.

So here's my question:
When you knit, and you get to the end of a row, do you start knitting back with your left hand, or flip it and purl?

I first was flipping my work over and knitting, but when it turned back over the rows were like knit purl knit instead of knit knit knit. You get me? It's frustrating.
Then I taught myself to use my left hand to knit, WHICH WAS HARD AS HELL. And I've been doing it that way so I don't have to flip.

How are you really supposed to do it???

Please, help.

Feeling:: distressed

FRUSTRATION! Help?
I just started knitting a blanket. For the size I want to make, it calls for 142 stitches to be casted on. After knitting 12 rows in stockinette, the pattern is as follows:
K10 *K2, YO, K3, SSK, K2 tog, K3, YO* Rep from * to * across row, K last 12 sts

The problem is that I follow that and at the end of that row, there aren't 12 stitches to knit across, there are only 6. I've done it over and ripped it out and done it again two times and the same problem comes up. Ideas? What's going on?

Dance wear problem
I have been on the hunt for a pattern for genuine ballet leg warmers.  I can only find the fashion ones, which is a problem since they're made for warmth and fashion, not function.

I've googled, yahooed, you name it.  Anyone have any idea?!?!?!?!?!

Anything would be great, thanks!!!!!!
