Tazewell's Favorite Eccentric #7 is sort of loosely themed around sex and sexuality. As always, writing about relationships sort of snuck in. There's a letter to this boy I had a crush on and why it could never be, what I want from my next relationship, a piece about sex work/domination (and my experienced therein), teenage promiscuity (again, personal experiences and reflections), homo/bisexuality and queerness, and a few other short random pieces. The deets: TFE7 weighs about an ounce and a half, is 18 pages with a violet cardstock cover. It cost $2 via mail (Sarah Arr!, PO BOX 235, North Tazewell, VA 24630) or $2.50 via paypal (to piratesarah at gmail dot com). It can also be had for a perzine trade or a cleverly themed mix cd. Questions? Just ask.

I've got a bunch of random comp zines working around in my head, and have for awhile. But for good reasons (that aren't really public blog material) I haven't really had much time/energy/money to flesh them out. If you'd be interested in any of the following, leave me a comment or send me an email (piratesarah at gmail dot com). Hometown Proud - thoughts on home. Stories, descriptions, pictures, photography about your memories and concepts of the idea of home. Your hometown, or the the first place that felt like you could make a life there. Princess Who - reinventing and redefining women in fairy tales. What would happen if Show White demanded equal wages from the dwarves or Cinderella was queer? This is a great chance to reclaim female archetypes in a more positive light. Coming Clean - the coming out stories of queer/trans folks. Mental Wealth - Dealing with "mental illness," exploring alternatives to traditional medicine, finding a safe outlet for your thoughts and feelings. How have these things affected you? How do you cope with stress? (Crossposted around like crazy. Sorry!)

Hey guys!
So we're getting this zine together and we just got some band stuff in to distro from Submarine Screendoor and Fruit Punch. I'm really excited that things are actually progressing and people are actually participating.
Our zine is called HANgOVER. We're from the town of Hanover... hence the name.
Anyway, here's what we'll be putting in so far:
-Opinion blogs/rants -Scene reports -Alternative spirituality -DIY stuff -Recipes -Question & Answer -Features of the month -Comics -Music Reviews -Horror movie reviews -Band interviews
I'm also working on an animal rescue and alternative health section for it.
The reason I'm actually posting this is because we need some help! We need bands to interview and cd's to review. Comics will only come around if people send them in. All will be excepted. Recipes, DIY stuff, opinion writings... all kinds of shit. If you want to say it, send it in!
For the distro, if you're in a band or you just make anything on your own (and we mean anything) we'd love to distro your stuff. We're taking in anything from band merch to cloth pads to clothes to stationary.
As you have read, we don't really have a theme. We're a pretty varied group of individuals so it was hard to try to make a themed zine.
Anyway, if there are any questions e-mail me at ssheely113@hotmail.com or just message me on here!
And if you'd like to send me your stuff, e-mail me and I'll send you my P.O. Box number.
Thanks!
Shawna Palsy

I've just had an offer from somebody connect to Goldblade to interview them for my zine
Can anyone who writes for a muisic zine/webzine (or anyone whose experianced at doing email interviews) give me some tips - It'll be my first interview and they're a band that I'm not that familar with (vaguely know of them - know one of the band is/was a music journalist & that they're influanced/inspred by The Clash and have performed at Strummercamp but that's it) so need ideas for questions - don't want to just do the obvious boring ones.

If you are interested in contributing please email me at: marie.oday@gmail.com for an address.
This is x-posted all over, apologies if you stumble upon it more than once.

No guidelines because I want to see what YOU can come up with. DO NOT push my buttons with this. Be reasonable not a asshole. I'll do my very best to respond. I'll take words and pictures.
to every entry. Which will probably happen. There's no deadline because there will be more than one issue. If something doesn't fit in the first then I'll save it for the second etc. Also, I have CFIDS. Getting things out on time would be a nightmare. Therefore I will not set a date for Smrat Ass's release. CONTACT INFO!!! Email: skullgrl@gmail.com or skullgrl@skullgrl.com It's easier for me if you could put text submissions in the body of the email - even if you have to send a couple of them. Contact me if you need to know more.

this is a call for submissions for what will probably be a one-shot (unless i get SOOOOOOOO many submissions that i wind up with too many for just one issue, because i really don't want to do "cuts"). there will be no remuneration, other than a comp copy, because i will probably lose $ on this, and you're more than likely going to have your submission used. the zine will be called "Am I Alone In This?" i want your experiences with the things you do when you are alone or semi-alone that you think might kinda embarrass your mum that you sometimes think nobody else does, but probably other people really do. i'm happy to take any artwork or photos you want me to include, so long as it's not going to make the zine an unreasonable number of pages or too costly to print. right now, i am going to put the deadline at november 30. feel free to send stuff via email, and i will do my best to download stuff if there are any attachments. i am also qweenoftheworld on hotmail. shoot me a comment if you want a snail mail addy to send stuff to-- those of you who already have a snail mail addy for me, feel free to use it (just please lemme know something is on the way). yes, i am aware someone else has done something similar already.....i am of the school of thought that at this point in human history, there are no original ideas. i am purposely not providing an example of the kind of stories i'm aiming for, but i suppose i can edit my post if enough people ask for an example.

hi, everybody. i am new here and posting because i am looking for submissions to my new distro, called "saudade." and, when i say new, it means i am looking for submissions. i am fairly new to zines, too. i have written one, but i have not distributed it yet. though i obviously plan to in my distro... my distro is for zines specifically for people with an illness or a disability. this includes everything from depression to addiction to cancer to whatever. there is more information on my webpage, which is here: http://www.geocities.com/saudade_distroyes, it is on geoshities, but i am paying a small fee to keep it ad free! because, as we all know, those are annoying. feel free to drop by my site and contact me if you are interested or have questions or tips, etc. just drop me a line! thanks, patricia p.s. i am looking to do flyer trades with other distros as well... so feel free to contact me about that as well. buh bye.

(cross posted) trying to get this off the ground again - I have about 40 pages done for issue 2/3 but need more contributions. Things that are definitly going to be the next issue(s) - to give you an idea - tributes to Joe from Anderson Toones (formerly Annie of the Bloods), and Johnny Green, Antony Genn on Joe and The Hours, Clash concert memories, thoughts on the closing down of Hammersmith Palais, plus reviews of Clash tribute albums, Planet of Friends antifascist cd, The Night Watchman, punk/related zines, and various Myspace ska/punk/hardcore bands, plus coverage of Julian Temple's film The Future is unwritten.
I'm also still trying to put together a themed issue based around thoughts on and critism of Chris Salewicz' biopic Redemption Song and related issues i.e exploring Joe's relationships with journalists, claimed struggle with depression & alcohol - interviews not mentioned in the book contradicting the suggestions that he was in denial. + various things that have been written suggesting Joe was a fake/it was all an act - explorings issues of hope, dispair, honesty, and redemption, and authenticity/sincerity in creativity & rock n' roll. and I'm also thinking of doing an issue based arround 'reasons to love/hate Billy Bragg. Anything connected to these topics is very welcome.
I'm also looking for anything about Joe, The Clash, related bands (either via connections, influance or just sharing a similar outlook), punk, left wing politics, anti -racism, anti-fascism (Nazi punks fuck off), DIY culture, zines and similar topics. All contributers whose work is used will get a free copy of the finished issue.
I have some copies of issue one left - if you want one just ask, would like to get feedback. hopelesslyromanticzine@gmail.com

| Subject: | Tips on starting up a zine distro? |
| Posted by: | mugglekitty. |

Hi!
I'm fairly new to the zine scene and am stumbling across all sorts of information, but I couldn't find too much on how to start up a distro. I'm in Perth, Australia and I just thought it'd be a fun thing to do in my spare time :]
A friend of mine introduced me to zines, as she made a few perzines that were really intriguing.
I've picked up a few things from looking at other zine distro sites and general zine info, but was wondering if anyone had any particular tips or resources?
Actually, mostly what's intriguing me is how do I advertise the distro so people know it exists?
Thanks in advance to any responses.
P.S. I'm going on holiday for two weeks from Saturday, but I'm feeling a bit impatient so I'm gearing myself up for starting a zine distro now and hoping to kick it off when I get back. So if I don't reply, please don't be offended!

Hi, I'm semi-new with all of this stuff and I have loads of ideas for a zine, so that part, I'm okay with...
I'm sure this has been posted a million times, but are there any things in particular that I should have as far as equipment goes? Maybe even programs? I know that some people have their own photocopiers, but what other supplies would be helpful?
Thanks a lot!
