The synthetic dream foundation has a new album, entitled "Behind the gates of horn and ivory" coming out at the end of this month. The sound clips on their site sound phenomenal. Anyone else had a chance to listen to the sample mp3s yet? I think this is going to be the best TSDF album yet.

3:48 pm - Reading the 'Preacher'
|

This is a bit cheeky ...
The Streatham Library Readers Group(catchy title, don't you think?) will be reading and discussing Ennis/Dillons's 'the 'Preacher' starting with 'Gone to Texas'. Copies have been put aside for anyone in the reading group to pick up & bone up on before we all meet up. To qualify as a member of the reading group you have to join the library & have a London address. A work address will do.
Any reader group member can suggest any graphic novel to be read/reviewed but we'll be doing the 'Preacher' for now.
We'll be meeting up on the 11 June at Streaham Library. For further details click on the link
Streatham Library is in the SW2 area of London, UK. So anyone in London is welcome although it's probably only easily accessible to residents of Lambeth and the surrounding boroughs. But if it's on your commuting route it could be an interesting diversion.
For said commuters Streatham has three rail stations; Streatham Common; Streatham; Streatham Hill. Streatham Lbrary is between Streatham & Streatham Hill stations. For more a better idea of the location check the map via the link above.

We are having our first disorganised event.
WHERE? London. Camberwell Green, SE5. Nearest tub: Oval. Bus: 436, 36, 171.
WHEN? Tuesday 28th february, yes Pancake Day. Starting at 6:30.
WHAT? What's happening, you mean? There will be visual projections, sounds, FREE PANCAKES which makes any tri worthwhile. We will be enlisting the help of passers-by, or scaring them off.
OUR AIMS We invite you to join us and Digest some of the latest news from around the world. Digest It Yourself will be re-presenting some of the semi-chewed crap that the newspapers, television and other stupifyingly TEDIOUS media vomit out to the general public.
Digest It Yourself mean this as a part-demonstration, part-installation event. We plan only in the vaguest possible way and leave the majority of what happens up to the people who appear.
EVERYBODY IS WELCOME. Boys and girls and in-betweens; passers-by for pre-club drinks; graphics students and fashion queens, those who slouch and those who think.
Tell your friends. Tell your enemies.

Hi -
Monica from Seattle here. I was hoping that maybe some of you could help me out. I'm going to be in London starting on 26Oct and was interested in getting a tattoo over there and was wondering if maybe someone can recommend a reputable (SAFE!) tattoo place in London. I'm staying in the Victoria area but pretty much any place is fine as I'll have a travelcard.
I would really appreciate your input on this!
Thanks! Monica

2:20 pm - 2 Rooms to let in Surbiton
|

Hi!!
Trying again before the landlord manages to put yet more filthy buggers in the place, there are 2 x rooms: 1 Single and 1 double, coming up for rent in the house where I live, so here goes: This is in Surbiton, this is in Surrey but also qualifies as South London as it's only 20 mins. from Waterloo by train or about 20mins/half hour by car. The train station is about 5 mins walk from the house. There's also a night bus to bring you back after a heavy night out. Buses from here also go to Guildford, Esher, New Malden, Richmond, Kingston, Feltham, Twinckenham.......so travel to and from Surbiton isn't a problem. It is also near Hampton Court Palace & Bushy Park and the river is minutes away. Surbiton has all the amenities: 4 different Supermarkets, lots of different Take Away places and restaurants, many many pubs and groovy Charity shops. The house is a Victorian-Semi which has been converted in 3 flats and we are on the Ground Floor(easier to move in if you don't have to carry your stuff up the stairs!!)in a tree lined avenue seconds from the centre of town on one side and a Park/Cricket Ground with tennis courts on the other side, there also a Cannons Health Club 5 minutes walk away for the fitness freaks! Set up: Share Kitchen (washing Machine, cooker/oven/grill, Micro-wave) and Bathroom (Shower in Bath). Both rooms are at the back of the house and face the Garden. The single used to fit a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers so can qualifies as a small double as long as you're not planning on swinging a cat! It was redecorated, along with the rest of the flat, at the end of last year. It currently has a single bed and TV unit in it only which seems to be all the guy who's got it at the mo. needs. The Double room contains at the moment: a double bed, sofa, wardrobe and shelf units (I think) and it had frech doors giving out to the garden with a little patio (might need weeding!!) When I moved in, the Landlord got me a Brand new double bed and wardrobe because what was in there belonged to the previous tenant and I had everything else of my own, so it probably won't be a problem to have him get what you need or take out what you don't need if you have your own stuff. I have been living here for 3 years now and have been sharing with Dirty people for that same amount of time, so this is the first time I get a chance to get decent people in the other 2 rooms at the same time and I am hoping to be able to get some cool people who are actually house trained to share with me for once rather than have to rely on the Landlord put anyone decent in there!! Basically, I am a goth, have been for a scary 21 years, so Goths/Alternative.....most welcome! Only thing I am asking for (well, hoping for) are for people to respect and help keep clean the shared areas: That's Kitchen, Bathroom and corridor and if you're male, to be able to aim at the toilet would make a nice change from the guys who live here at the mo!! Rent wise, I am not sure but I think the Rent for the Single is £320 inclusive per month, and at a guess I'd say the rent for the Double might be £370 inclusive but I'm not 100% sure. These are good rate considering that we are near London and in what is considered a "posh area". 1 of the rooms will be available within the next fortnight and the other one within a month but can be viewed from now on request. If you are interested or know someone who might be, and want to come and have a look, please contact me on 0787 6774094. Hope to here from loads of you!!
