Much to the worry of the barony’s inhabitants, a group of cannibal ogres was discovered in an abandoned mansion in Lyonsville.
The vile blackguards had apparently been preying on inhabitants of the village for some time before they were discovered by Lady Sandra and her Prodigal associates.
Along with Sir Gunthar and myself, Lady Sandra’s party apprehended the malefactors in time to save their latest group of victims – a troll, a sidhe, and two mortals, one of them my own sibling, Aaron Frost.
The foul villains put up a battle; the remains of their number were turned over to the Supernatural Task Force of the F.B.I., in the person of Sir Kellin. Medical aid was obtained for their victims; I am informed that Aaron, the other mortal, and the troll, one Jorgen, will recover. The sidhe lady has thus far remained unresponsive to stimuli; Lady Althea and Sir Cianan theorize that her traumatic experience has produced a state of catatonia.
Sir Kellin reported that questioning the villains brought no clues to the history of their vile deeds, nor to where they obtained the healing waters used to restore parts of their victims. Listening in to their private conversations, however, proved far more enlightening. Apparently, they obtained the water supply from a cousin of theirs, who in turn obtained it from her employer. The Baronial Guard has been alerted to watch for a female troll or ogre with red hair.

As the members of the sept gather in the Assembly area, Duncan Gathers-the-Herd intones, "Welcome Garou, one and all, my Changing brothers and sisters, dancers in the high moonlight, welcome! I call thee, summon thee, bring you hence to witness this circle, this everwidening circle, the Moot that we call. Hear me! Hear my howl!"
[He howls, and then all of Sept follows]
As the last of the Howls fade out, he continues, "Now let us not forget our Wolfen Kin who dwindle in these last days -- let our dirge keep their memory."
[Duncan howls a mournful howl, the Lupus follow, and then the Sept]

Either before or after the moot, John gathers the pack together for a special ceremony to honor their totem at the first light of her moon and the start of her month. Again, he passes a glass of water for everyone to drink from and says the following:
"Shantar of the Loom, we thank you for your blessings this past year and renew our vows to you for the year about to dawn. In this, the last moon of the year and your sacred month, we seek to complete the quests which we have undertaken and invent new tasks to take us into the days to come. We ask you for your insights and strive to avoid the reckless action which can result from it. We dedicate ourselves to change with the turning of the days and seek always to understand the world we live in with its ever-changing wonders. We cast aside the shadows of the Secret One and declare for all to hear -- We are the Bridge Builders!"
(OOC: Actually, if it would be acceptable, he'd be perfectly happy to integrate this ceremony into the Moot itself, but I am not sure of the protocols of this. I leave it up to Midori to advise.)

Let it be recorded here that the court of Caer Leon was witness to the Saining of Ceara ni Scathach, on the twenty-seventh day of February, two thousand and four, in the twenty-fourth year of the reign of Arislan ap Fiona and Rhiannon ni Eiluned.
As the senior sorceress of the House of the Black Unicorn, Lady Elspeth ni Scathach, Baroness of Fairgrove, performed the ritual. Also in attendance were His Highness Prince Llew, Lady Alexandria ni Gwydion, Lady Freya Odinnsdottor, and Sir Keighvyn ap Scathach.
Ceara has been commended to the fosterage of Sir Keighvyn for instruction, until such time as she is ready for the Fior-Righ.

I am most pleased to report here that the Rhapsodist Lady Anduin ni Leanhaun, whose predations had been plaguing the Barony of the Silver Lion, was brought to justice by Steve Smith and the sluagh Novalyne.
I have been informed by representatives of the Ducal court that the Lady Anduin will stand trial for her crimes before Her Grace the Duchess Rhiannon at the next full moon. It is likely that a suitable punishment will be visited upon Anduin for her crimes.

John spends a lot of his spare time meeting any spirits and beasts within and around the Villa Domina who are awake and willing to converse. He will simply introduce himself and offer his services as liaison and messenger to the other residents of the complex. The spirits, particularly, will receive offers of service and he will be happy to agree to any task or regular offering they require of him (weighing importance against his other obligations, of course). This is probably going to swiftly cement his reputation as a weirdo among those residents he hasn't already met.
He wants to establish a good relationship with all the creatures living there, so hopefully they will come to him if they have problems. He sees this as a natural extension of the mission of his pack.

The Washington Post and Silver Woods Tribune both contain a story about the murders of three young women in Washington, D.C., Annapolis, MD, and Silver Woods, VA.
Each victim was stabbed multiple times; one of them was badly beaten as well.
Police are urging young women to exercise caution when meeting strangers, and not to go out unaccompanied after dark.
