Just in case any old players of Rowan still read this...
Players wanted for a "joe-schmoe" campaign.

System: WOD 1.0 - Mortals (Changeling Kinain and Werewolf Kinfolk may be allowed, but that's something to be discussed with any players who propose such a character.) Story will be character-driven.

Medium: Play-by-post (email) via Live Journal.

Setting: A small town in the northeast. The present. Nothing special about, although it's seen better days. There's an all-girls boarding school, an abandoned sanitarium on the outskirts, some old "Indian" caves, a candy store, stories about a haunted lighthouse, two cops, one stop-light, several tourist trap shops, many summer-rental homes and bed-and-breakfast places, miles of rocky-coast line on one side and thick forests on the other... and, of course, a statue of some guy knick-named "Fred" in the center of town.

Style: Dependant on the players and types of characters proposed. Mix of Bureau 13, Call of Cthulu, Deliria, Hunters Hunted, Magical Girl, etc... Focus will be on social interaction and skills, with some possible combat. Character devoted soley to combat (as thegamemistress might say) "will be at a severe disadvantage," and are therefore greatly discouraged. Mature content, some angst, so mature players over 18 only.

Contact: chamberdeacon at gmail or visit [info]chamber_deacon.

**note: if you find yourself crunching numbers to make your character as powerful as possible, this probably isn't the game for you. **

For those interested in the "Buffy" game...
There's an entry to discuss character ideas and questions about the game here. You might also want to read the other entries in the community, just to get an idea of what's what.

    For those who've expressed interest
The OOC community for [info]lostsatyr's and my online Buffy game is located at [info]liberte_ooc. There's not much there yet, but I've put up the rules and character submission guidelines.

    "Dark Ages: Fae" LJ game?
Would anyone here be interested in a Livejournal Dark Ages: Fae game when this game is over? I have a campaign world and LJ community all set up (from my tabletop game), and a player from my TT game who's no longer in the area who has expressed a desire to play DA: Fae online, so I thought I'd ask here, since I know a couple of you are DA: Fae fans.

The game takes place in Ireland, in the sixth century C.E./A.D. You can find a little blurb about the game in the User Info for [info]dun_caorthann; just look under "About The Rowan & the Lotus."

If people don't have access to the DA: Fae rules, I'd be willing to stat up a character from a character background that you send me.

More info for those familiar with 'DA: Fae' )

If you'd be interested (or are just intrigued), feel free to leave a comment here. :)

Sorry for the long and mostly unannounced absence. I basically lost computer access for a month. I'm trying to catch up now.

    Day trip to Philadelphia?
    Inspired by this thread:

Would any of the characters would be interested in a day trip to Philadelphia? The students could visit the Liberty Bell, the Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Academy of Natural Sciences, and maybe a couple of other places.

    Mod Request
Longshadow and Gudge probably should have consulted you on this earlier, but we forgot. To make a long story short, both of us were working under the mistaken impression that fae frailties cross over into the real world in some way, i.e. that a Sluagh's voice would be affected in both seemings, though possibily not to as great a degree in his mortal mien. Because of this, I've been playing Longshadow as if he has lost the ability to sing at anything more than a whisper even among mortals. As a musician, this is quite the blow to him, so he asked Gudge some time ago to make a sort of doo-hickie that could help with the problem. Here's one of the threads referencing that.

    http://www.livejournal.com/community/rowan_academy/184425.html#comments

The device seems to work, but it's really limited in scope, so I don't think it should effect the game too much. It's not like Longshadow can walk around with the thing on or anything. It's very visible, and he wouldn't want to stand out in that way. Because of that, he couldonly be use it occasionally, mainly when the the performing bug has bit his bottom.

So? How bad did we mess things up? We know we have to work the flaw into the creation somehow--suggestions? Do we need to rewind this threads and say they never happened or modify them in some way?

    Group Activity
Does anyone have ideas for a group activity that Freida could set up? The game is really slow, and it has come to my attention that we haven't had a fieldtrip in a while, or a school wide party? I know that after summer Freida will probably want a housewarming, but that's ages away.

RL time vs. IC time - Question
For the next IC school term, I would like to switch the timing to "one RL month = one IC month," rather than the current "one RL week = one IC week." It seems to be confusing people sometimes as to which week we're actually on, so I thought that maybe switching to months would be less confusing.

    Anyone have any opinions?

    End-of-term questions
Given that it's late April/early May IC, I thought it was a good time to ask this question.

What do people want to do when the 2003-2004 school year is over in-game? Do we want to jump right into the 2004-2005 school year, or take a break so people can play out what happens over summer vacation? I seem to recall there were some plans for some characters to visit one another over the summer; are those still a go?

If any characters want to stay in the area over the summer, they'll likely have to find residences in Brownell, as Rowan will only allow people to remain in the dorms if they're attending Summer Session (and as far as I know, Peri's the only one who's doing that). I'd really rather not RP out the entire summer, since only a comparative handful of characters will be in the area.

So, what do people want to do?
