I'm looking for male-identified models from the baltimore/dc area for my junior seminar project. No names will be connected with the photos. Please let me know if you're interested; I'll gladly give you a print in return.

The photographs I'm shooting are similar to this image http://www.pdngallery.com/20years/editorial/images/16_mark_seliger.jpg , except that each person who models for me will be photographed separately.

If you don't want to model for me but know someone who might (trans or not, doesn't matter), please let them know. I'm trying to photograph a diverse group of men.

please contact me at jsphadnsmn at yahoo if you're interested and local and we'll work out a schedule.

I'm finally working on some art, and got decent pictures of the beginning process. This is a wood piece that I've tied together with metal ties and wood glue, and then hinged the doors. I'm using found objects and acrylic paints to decorate the piece. The doors will open, and the viewer will be able to see whatever I decide goes on the inside. (that's still in the works.)
Check out the pics.

Queer Art Censorship

  • Jun. 3rd, 2008 at 12:23 PM
So, here’s the story. Besides planning to get married with my beautiful male lover of almost three years, I recently signed up with zazzle a company that puts your design on things like mugs and US postal stamps, t-shirts etc. I designed a stamp commemorating the California Supreme Court decision to allow gay people to get married. The stamp was rejected by the US Postal system for their policy which reads:
Policy Violations:
Incorporates material that is primarily partisan or political in nature.
Incorporates material the primary purpose of which is to advocate or protest any particular religious, social, political, legal or moral agenda of any person or entity.

That’s quite a lot of censorship. Who decides? I just sent another design in and they accepted it. So now we have a queer/gay postage stamp in America.

I am selling the stamp and giving half the proceeds to a non-profit called Equality California. You do not have to buy a stamp to participate in the Queer eQuality mailART call, but if you'd like to help support the arts and equality, then buy all means :-) for more info... see below. Thank you, Perry
