2 Questions... 1. Does Anyone know what Peter Milligan's 1st (american) work was?
2. Does Anyone know where to find a complete online bibliography of his work?
(and one more for the road)
Whatever happened to the Shade book with Mike Allarad, and the JLA Kid Amazo book that was supposed to come out? |

X-men I'm gonna have to say I thought Milligan's first issue was way better than the second one, but I still liked this issue a lot. However, did anyone else notice that it seems like Larocca drew this issue in maybe a tenth of the time that he drew the first one. I dunno. Still looking forward to the rest of the story. I expect nothing less than greatness out of Milligan's comics (unfair? of course!), and it looks as though he has set himself up for such, once again. Current Mood: lonely |

Saw this on Newsarama:
TOXIN #1 (OF 6) Written by Peter Milligan Penciled by Darick Robertson Painted Cover by ESAD RIBIC
As each new generation of men must hand down the torch to the next, so each new generation of alien symbiotes must hand down the, ah, stringy, fleshy tendrils. So move over Venom, step aside Carnage, because TOXIN is getting his own limited series as Spider-Man Month continues with a nod to NEW AVENGERS! When a full-scale jailbreak [see NEW AVENGERS] leaves New York overrun with super villains, Pat sees the perfect opportunity to use the creature sharing his body for good. But Toxin might have other ideas! Featuring a special guest appearance by Spider-Man and a different villain encounter every issue! 32 PGS./Marvel PSR $2.99
I've heard Milligan's Venom work isn't that good, so I don't know if I'll be picking this up or not... |

A good day for all of us here. I know for many out there, today was the first or second day of school, but I know it for something much, much more, for I know that today there were two Milligan books in one day! Not much better than that in the comic world, lemme tell ya (not to mention the fact that the Hellblazer HC came out today as well). I almost overlooked X-men until it was pointed out to me, because the cover looked like "The End"'s covers, and I couldn't be happier that it was pointed out. I wasn't sure how good it would be, but upon reading it...I'm actually as excited as I was when I was reading Morrison's stuff. Okay, so Salvador Larocca isn't exactly Frank Quitley, but he's still not too bad, and Milligan seems to be loving writing it, and seems to have something wonderful in store for us. I am, amazingly enough, excited about X-men again. Human target was one of my favorite issues thus far of the series. It seems to me that the stand alone stories are the best part of this book. Don't get me wrong, I love the story arcs, and I don't think the series has hit a lull yet, but every one of the stand alone stories has blown me away, usually made me choke back tears, and this issue was no exception. Well, I've got more comics to read, such as the aforementioned Hellblazer HC, so, adios, and hope I'm not the only one who was this happy with X-men Current Mood: excited |

hey! look at this! what a great idea for a community.
i've loved shade and enigma since maybe high school many years ago. i haven't really kept up with comics lately but i used to love them. where else can you combine a love of words and images? poetry, prose, and art? no where, indeed. (except some places.)
i didn't know there were shade trades, i spent so much time collecting the damn individual comics. lately i feel that i should donate it to my library since i don't look over em so much anymore, and it would be nice to get new people into them. meh.
what else do you guys like? are there any fantagraphics or drawn and quarterly fans? i don't even know if those labels still exist. and does anyone else feel that shade was so much better than sandman and should have gotten all that attention? i do.
this is making me totally nostalgic. jimmy corrigan! kabuki! love and rockets! uhh, black and white! what else. cages! what else? remind me of some other great comics. |

Hay Guys what's up with all this hay! Hellos, First time posting here, new to the community, old to the loving of Milligan. There was a post a little bit back about Shade: The Changing Man. I didn't notice it mentioned in the replies or previously in the community, but sorry if this is a repeat. Anyone know what's up with the NEW Shade? Remember in the Vertigo X Preview thing, there was a couple page preview of a new Shade on-going, by Milligan & Allred? What's the status on that project, did I miss something? I know Peter's probably busy with the changing up of work (X-Statix canceled, moving to X-Men) and keeping busy with Human Target... but it's been a while since the new Shade was annouced. Any update? Current Mood: anxious |

Enigma I was going to post this in the replies to the last post, but those replies are lengthy.
I've never heard of Enigma and have not found much about it on the net.
Is it in print? Out of print? Hard to find?
Who's the artist? What's the plot/themes/etc.
If someone could be so kind.... |

Um. Hello! I feel sheepish. Not only have I never willingly read a graphic novel before in my entire life, I've never willingly read an entire comic book series. Until yesterday, when I heard there was a series about a lizard-eating gay superhero at the bottom of a well, and when I found myself, completely on the spur of the moment, going to my local indie comic book store and buying Enigma. So, I read it, and, wow. Am blown away. Except that I don't have any frame of reference point within the world of comic books to grasp what I just read, because I'm new at this. I don't even know where to start. But I thought that I would start here, by just asking you guys to talk to me, please, about the comic if you've read it? Because, Wow. Current Mood: impressed |

Spot the tranny Has anyone else noticed a fascination with transvestism and transsexualism in Peter's work and that of Grant Morrison? Speaking as a Millifan and a trannie, I'd be interested in your thoughts |

the changing man what is everyone's favorite issue(s) of Shade? mine would have to be 41 and 50. 41 was the issue that introduced us to Pandora and had guest artist Glyn Dillon. i don't have my Shade issues with me, but i remember absolutely loving Dillon's artwork... some kind of cross between Allred and Hewlett. and the story was also great, even though it was something of a deviation from the main characters it was quite fascinating to read Milligan interpret this version of Pandora into this Vertigo world. she became one of my favorite supporting characters of any comic book series, even though she was only in for a short period of time. the comic store manager, at the time that i was shopping there, said it perfectly... "this issue should have come with a box of tissues." i wont spoil anything for anyone who hasn't possibly read it, but the changes in this issue are so dramatic and gutwrenching. everything was built up to this moment and nothing was ever the same. not only do we get a longer issue but then it's followed by a nice gallery as well. |

GM + PM = <3 My favorite Peter Milligan moment actually involves Grant Morrison. If you read both the forward for the Enigma TP and the one that Peter Milligan did for one of The Invisibles trades (Say You Want A Revolution, maybe) it essentially insinuates that the two of them were lovers once during a convention they both attended. A mind fuck for their readers? Most likely. But it's a nice thought. Especially considering they are two of my favorite authors. Current Mood: curious |
