Pegasus: Once more, with better counting [30 Jul 2008|10:22pm]

catalana
Heya everyone!

Last minute reminder for nominating - you have about, oh, 26 hours from when I'm
posting this to send in your ballots. Once it's August in California, nominations
are closed.

The nominating ballot is here: http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/2008nomballot.html

And the brainstorming poll results (in case you want something to inspire your nominating
thoughts) are here: http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/opinions.html

This is your last chance to get bugged by me for weeks! How can you pass it up?

(For those of you who saw this on mailing lists yesterday: no, July didn't lose a day. I simply jumped forward 24 hours in my head - I'd have sworn yesterday was Wednesday. oh, well.)

All the best,

Pegasus Nomination Reminder [27 Jul 2008|01:41pm]

catalana
Heya everyone!

July is winding to a close, and that means that we're reaching the end of nominating season! So if you haven't submitted a nominating ballot for the Pegasus Awards this year and you'd like to, you need to do so soon. Once it's August in California, nominations are closed.

The nominating ballot is here.

And the brainstorming poll results (in case you want something to inspire your nominating thoughts) are here.

(Note that in the case of multiple nominating ballots being submitted by one person, I generally count the most recent one.)

Nominating is not a duty, but we do get a more representative ballot if we have high participation at the nominating stage. So I definitely encourage those who are interested to submit a nominating ballot. Thanks for your support!

All the best,

Erica Neely

Pegasus Nominations are Open! [07 Jun 2008|12:50pm]

catalana
Hello!

It's that time of the year again! (Actually, it's past that time of the year again, but the Pegasus Committee had an attack of real life - sorry about that.) Anyway, the nominating ballot for the 2008 Pegasus awards is now available here. The brainstorming results should be available in the next day or two, linked off of that page.

Nominations are open until it's August in California (i.e., 12:01 a.m. August 1st, Pacific Daylight Time.) I look forward to seeing what y'all choose!

2008 Pegasus Brainstorming Poll [11 Apr 2008|11:59am]

catalana
Hello everyone!

It's that time of year again - time to brainstorm for the Pegasus poll! Because our committee has had a lot of Real Life lately, we're extending the poll's deadline to make up for it. You can brainstorm ideas for the Pegasus awards through Sunday April 20th; we'll be closing at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Monday April 21st. So once it's Monday the 21st in California, it's too late.

Please come and generate suggestions - the more suggestions we get in brainstorming, the better nominations we tend to get. You can submit as many brainstorming polls as you like! The link is here:

2008 Brainstorming Poll

Our floating categories, just to remind people, are Comedy and Tragedy.

Thanks for your ideas! We appreciate them!

catalana
This is the final reminder I will be posting about the Pegasus Awards this year. Pre-con voting closes at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time this Tuesday. So once it's Tuesday in California it's too late to vote online; you'll have to vote in person at OVFF.

The ballot is here.

I have a giant (virtual) stack of ballots left to count - please add to my work!

...have you voted for the Pegasus Awards yet?

The ballot is here. You can vote until Monday October 22nd; after that, you'll have to vote at OVFF on Friday night!

Eric Gerds has been kind enough to broadcast full versions of all he nominees on Filk Radio; you can see the schedule here for when he's broadcasting the Pegasus nominees. (The schedule only goes up a week at a time, so be patient if next week's schedule isn't up yet.)

I won't say vote early and often, but please do vote!

Pegasus Concert Clarification [30 Aug 2007|01:15pm]

catalana
Since I've gotten a number of queries, I'm going to post something about this.

I'm not organizing the concert yet. I'm taking a few days off from having gotten the ballot released before I worry about that. I'm going to, you know, do some of that stuff I actually get paid to do. *grin*

If the author of a song will be at the con, they have right of first refusal on performing the song. If they don't want to perform or won't be there, I will find someone to do the song for the concert. I may be looking for volunteers closer to the time; I'll post about it then. (Not that there's anything wrong with emailing me, but at the moment all I can really say to you is "I'll keep that in mind.") My goal is to put together a good concert, so it's not necessarily first-come first-served. I also like having a diverse group of people on stage, and I like having people you don't necessarily hear all the time up there. This year I have a Cunning Plan (TM), but we'll have to see how it goes.

Note that people nominated in Writer/Composer or Performer do not have to find someone to do their representative works. The concert is only for songs. We do generally try to get our Performer nominees on stage to do something if they are at the con, so I may contact you if you're nominated in that category and will be at the con.

Hopefully this should answer people's questions. I will be arranging the concert, but not yet.

Time is Running Out! [30 Jul 2007|05:18pm]

catalana
Nominations for the Pegasus Awards for 2007 close at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday; you have only a little over a day left to nominate! So if you haven't done so yet, please think about doing so; the final ballot is only as representative of the filk world as the nominations that comprise it!

Those address again (for one last time!) are:

http://ovff.org/pegasus/2007nomballot.html for the Nominating Ballot
http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/opinions.html for the Brainstorming Results

This is the last time I'll be bugging you about nominating for almost an entire year! (Of course, soon I'll start bugging you about voting, but that's a whole different can of worms...)

According to Dennis, when he was talking to Arthur in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

However, it *is* a rather low number of Nominating Ballots. Are you SURE you don't want to do one? You have a nice, bright weekend to think about it, and once you have, go to http://ovff.org/pegasus/2007nomballot.html and submit a ballot!

However, after Tuesday, well... it will be too late to help decide who will be on this year's Pegasus Final Ballot.

Nominate today!!

(Need ideas? Check out http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/opinions.html and http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/2007/brainstorm/picks.html
for brainstorming ideas and composer's submissions!)

2007 Pegasus Awards Nominating Ballot Open [11 Jun 2007|07:01pm]

catalana
The Nominating Ballot for this year's Pegasus Awards actually opened at Marcon, but I disappeared into a haze of boxes and moving stuff and forgot to post online about it. So...

Come and nominate for this year's Pegasus Awards! The floating categories are "Best Dorsai Song" and "Best Song of Home." You can see the results of the brainstorming poll for ideas. And you can nominate online here.

Nominations will close at the end of July PDT - once it's August in California, you're too late!

The more nominations we receive, and the more diverse areas they represent, the better our final ballot reflects the opinions of filkers everywhere. So, please, do come and nominate.

Thanks for your time!

Pegasus Brainstorming Poll - Closes 4/17 [16 Apr 2007|03:54pm]

catalana
Technically this closed today, but I forgot to remind anyone. So we'll close at the end of the day on Tuesday (so when it's 12:01 a.m. PDT on the 18th.

This is the brainstorming poll for the 2007 Pegasus Awards; you can fill them out multiple times if you want to suggest songs. I'll assemble them into a list that people can use to jog their memories when it comes time to actually nominate things! In addition to our usual categories, the floating categories are Best Dorsai Song and Best Song of Home.

So, please, brainstorm! You can do it here:

2007 Brainstorming Poll

(Yes, it claims that the brainstorming period is over; it's not.)

So brainstorm early and often, please!

Pegasus Brainstorming Poll Info [03 Apr 2007|01:34pm]

catalana
Since there's been activity on this today...

I am the current Pegasus evangelista. I have been pushing the Brainstorming poll at cons I've been to recently. I have not been pushing it electronically as much, in part because our webmaster has an attack of real life and I am aware the webpages are out of date.

However, you can still get to the main Pegasus page, the 2007 Brainstorming Poll, and the list of previous winners. (However, I will go through and remove all of the previous winners when I assemble the results of the poll, so it doesn't matter too much if you don't double-check.)

I apologize for not bugging people about this more; I have had Real Life of my own. However, the Pegasus Committee had a meeting last weekend to discuss what needs to be done, so things should go more smoothly from here.

2007 brainstorming poll [03 Apr 2007|01:32pm]

madfilkentist
This year's Pegasus brainstorming poll seems a bit underpublicized, perhaps because Steve's moved to Germany. I had a hard time even finding it. So even though I'm not directly involved, someone needs to be mentioning that the deadline for suggestions is coming up soon -- April 14.

Could one of the moderators update the "About" section of the userinfo to reflect this year's deadline?
