Welcome to the Pitch Black Ficathon

This Ficathon is running in conjunction with the RGFC and AOVD.

Please feel free to advertise the Ficathon around, this is a wonderful opportunity for original fiction to be produced for the fandom.

Everyone is welcome to join and become a member of the community, participation is not mandatory…just encouraged :) .


Timeline:
Applications close: 31st July
Assignments sent out: 3rd August
Stories due: 14th August 2005 – 21st August 2005



Rules:
1. Age limits exist at AoVD and RGFC. Anyone signing up under the age of 18 can only post to RGFC and the community and their stories must not exceed a rating of PG-13. Minimum age accepted to the boards and community is 13.
2. Stories must exist in the PB universe; they can not entail the characters visiting other fiction or non fiction settings.
3. AU’s are allowed and can be requested.
4. Stories must be original, please do not substitute edited past works. Remixes are allowed.
5. Authors should strive for 1,000+ words unless challenged otherwise.
6. Adhere to the content and labelling rules supplied by the RGFC and AOVD respectively.

7. Stories must be spell checked and authors are strongly encouraged to use a beta reader.
8. Please take the finishing dates into consideration; will you be able to finish in the time provided?
9. Smut is not mandatory.
10. If you will not be able to make the due date please notify when you will be able to do so.
11. If it is impossible for you to finish your story, let us know so that somebody else can be handed the challenge.

Notes
A requirement of participation is the joining of and the publication of your story in the RGFC and AOVD forums.

Requests can vary from characters, pairings, situations, settings, objects, words and so on.

Please think carefully about what you do not want in your story, be specific but allow the author some room to manoeuvre.

There is some contention on the issue of the character Jack in COR. Please answer if you would prefer to work on and receive a One true Jack story only or are willing to work with the character Kyra as Jack.

(Stories where Kyra is a continuation of Jack can only be posted to AoVD)
