What wrath has a scorned public radio broadcaster wrought? Find out in NPaRrrr, a new play brought to Columbus by the aptly named, an ad hoc theatre company. In an effort to promote both local written theatre and public radio, NPaRg is the comedic tale of a failed public radio announcer named Jack. Just as he finds himself jobless and at wits-end, an epiphany drives Jack back to the airwaves in a most hilarious set of circumstances.
“NPaRrrr is an exceptionally fun show to direct as the story is just classic comedy,” said director, Philip Hickman. “The rapid-fire wit of NPaRg playwright Joe Taleroski makes for a high-energy show with a very colorful cast of characters.”
Having not met the projected pledge drive goal for his show, the play’s protagonist, Jack, is sent packing. His hopes for a career in public radio all but dashed, Jack takes it upon himself to start his own pirate public radio station with his faithful intern, Iggy. Their on-air antics encouraged by Jack’s best friend Finch, the audience is taken along on the hilarious account of Jack and Iggy’s frolics and misadventures in outlaw radio.
“This play really showcases the kind of talent available for locally produced theatre in Columbus,” said show producer, Adam Simon. “Additionally, it brings attention to the importance of quality of public radio programming.”

Thee Dyskworlde Players will be having open auditions for the next Discworld play, The Fifth Elephant, Sunday, September 7th at noon. It will be held at the Gazebo in Goodale Park (Columbus, Ohio).
We will be putting this on May 22nd or 23rd, 2009 (Memorial Day Weekend) at MarCon in Columbus.
So if you're in the area and are a Discworld fan, or just want to get into Marcon free, stop on by!
We're an amateur acting troupe (so no money!) and this will be our second play. Our first, Going Postal, was performed this past Marcon to pretty good reviews!
