NERennies Reward System

  • Jul. 9th, 2008 at 7:58 PM
The Gold Trading Post for NERennies has opened its doors! This is the answer to all you folks who wondered what you could do with all that gold you have been accumulating. You can trade in gold for fun stuff such as custom titles, or you can change your display name, and you can even have cool effects around your name, like orbs! But of course one of the best things you can do with that gold is trade it in for real world merchandise! Right now you can trade your gold for the NERennies embroidered baseball cap*. There are plans to add other things to the shop as well, so keep an eye out!

 So you want to know how you go about earning gold? It's simple really, you participate in the community. Here is a breakdown of how much gold you earn:

          Starting Gold: 1000

         You can also earn gold by gambling, though you can also lose gold by gambling so be careful there. Ok, everyone start earning gold!!

         *Assuming you have enough gold to purchase said cap of course.

        Handmade by me Frock Coats for sale

        • Jul. 1st, 2008 at 1:32 PM
        HI, I am putting up 5 frock coats made by me.They are all brand new and have been worn by me only for the pictures. I will put them up on ebay if no one takes them but I thought I'd start here as I'd rather have them worn by someone I know will use them. I have been sewing clothing since I was 15 so 11 years. Each one is different and I will describe each below, they all are fully lined with fuctioning buttonholes and pockets(i've never been a fan of faux unless its fur or leather). The buttons are all handcarved by my twin brother who is a professional woodcarver and are really lovely in my opinion. They would work for a variety of  time periods or styles, and as either costumes or just to wear as an everyday coat, c'mon you can pull them off. They are all well made from upholstery weight fabrics with a tailored fitted look. The first 3 are size medium and the last 2 are size large. Yes that is me as the not so handsome model in the first 3 and my twin brother in the last 2 as he is a larger fella and can fit the large sizes. I'm asking 110$ for each which includes Shipping in the USA, just email me if you'd like any of them so I can take them off the listing at aophaug@gontc.com
        I can take a Paypal payment or a postal money order I'll give you all the information on payment in the response email. Thanks very much for looking and fell free to ask any questions.

        1. Size Medium: Dark blue medium weight brocade with vining black jacquard cuffs collar and pocketflaps in a spiked style. Lined in midnight blue. The buttonholes are finished in black gimp trim and the buttons are in an etched crackle pattern in black and gray. Pictures below:

        ATTN: Rennie Airbrush Artists!

        • Jun. 25th, 2008 at 12:00 AM
        I have in my possession over 100 15ml bottles of apparently hard to find DIA-DYE Glaze Paints that was apparently very popular for airbrush usage, but is hard to find now except in Europe (it was a PITA trying to find *anything at all* about the stuff online!)

        If anyone is interested, I'm auctioning it on eBay for $20 (it's worth over $200), but I want it to have a good home rather than sit in a drawer in my parent's house (a friend of mine gave it to me thinking I would be able to use it).

        http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230265303408

        Thanks ya'll - and see you soon at SCRF/NYRF/CTRF!

        Heads up

        • Jun. 24th, 2008 at 9:53 AM
        Not sure which one, but either the SCRF site or one of the sites on their links page (I think possibly the Silvermane site) is handing out infections to visiting computers. Specifically, buffer overflow attacks on .jpg processing. Or something like that. I'm not a computer wiz, I don't know how to explain it.

        I'm not linking the sites, of course. But if anyone knows the people who run them, please advise them to check their sites and make sure they are clean.

        If you've been to one of those sites lately, couldn't hurt to update your computer defense software, runs some scans, and make sure your computer is okay.

        Shared Space

        • Jun. 20th, 2008 at 3:03 PM
        Hi Folks,

        Phoenix Swords has recently been made a GREAT offer on 24/7 “office” space (read large open area with high ceilings and a bathroom with adjacent business that likes people with swords) in the Central MA area. We are looking for a way to defray the cost of this and would welcome ideas/suggestions.

        What we are NOT looking for
        * used for storage
        * sales/merchant

        What we have considered:
        * sharing the space with other study/dance/sword groups
        * offering classes again

        If you are *personally* interested and have an idea that involves you or your organization, please email me at phoenixswords at gmail dot com.

        At SKRF halfway between first and second weekends, Potted Fox's booth tore apart. The Fox has done what she can to move toward repairing the damage to stagger through this show, but considering the weather later in the summer and fall, doesn't think the patch is going to hold up well enough to make it through to next season. In order to fund a new tent, we're shaking up a sale.

        Everything that is currently in stock is 10% off. (A current stock list to follow shortly.) Further, there will be a 10% discount on all bodices and jerkins ordered between now and the end of July. Straight up donations to the Tent Fund are also gravely appreciated.

        Stay tuned for news.

        In the current edition of Renaissance Magazine- The Harper and the Minstrel's song "The Last Day of the Faire" is featured as one of the magazine's picks for wedding music (the whole issue is a wedding themed one). There's also a nice little blurb about the origins of the song. Great recognition for a beloved local act :)
