Since you guys are NaNoWriMo writers, I felt a number of you might understand. I apologize in advance that this is copy pasted from my other blog, but it's six in the morning, please do not take offense. This is basically just something I'm asking for... I do not expect anyone to answer, but I hope you will. It's something to help motivate me through November and keep me feeling enthusiastic... and to get me to get to work on the planning.
Thanks for your time... and if I'm breaking anything, (rules), somebody tell me.

I would like to get together a group of OKC area LJers who write who could get together on a regular basis and support each other in our writing. Does anyone here know of anything like that or would be interested in anything like that?
For anyone reading, I have a question/dilemma
I spend a lot of time traveling during my day/out of the house. It means sitting down to write for long periods of time at a laptop is difficult. Either there isn't time or I am tired/in the wrong place (even if laptop is with me.)
I do however have blocks of 10-30 minutes while I am out and about which I could be using to write if I committed to writing on paper. The only issue I have with this is
1. What if I leave the book behind?
2. It adds an unnecessary stage at the end when I have to spend hours typing it up before editing it.
I supppose I could dedicate one night a week to getting everything from that week typed up. This would comnat 2, safeguard me against 1, and I'd know my word count.
What have other people done? Any advice?
We have a bit less than four months left to prepare ourselves for the next NaNoWriMo (yay! Can't hardly wait for it!). So I thought I should share with you four links to articles about the importance of deadlines for writers:
1. How Important Are Deadlines For a Book Writing Project?, by Dave Taylor.
2. Deadline Management, by Scott Lindsay.
3. Why Writing Deadlines May Be (Almost) As Good As Money, by yours truly.
4. The Importance of Meeting Writing Deadlines, by Leslie A. Sartor.
Enjoy! :)
Hi, everyone!
The folks running the World Science Fiction Convention in Denver this year are looking for some folks to be on a panel about NaNoWriMo. Specifically, we're looking for people who have had a NaNoNovel published, or people who were already published, but who did NaNoWriMo anyway.
If you fit these criteria, and are already planning to be in Denver for the convention in August, please drop me a comment. Unfortunately, we're not in a position to give out free memberships or anything like that (we have over 500 panelists/program participants), but you would get a souvenir tent card and our undying gratitude out of the deal -- plus an opportunity to plug your book!
My friend
susie_crabtree, has created a new fan fiction and graphic arts website. There are only 5 members so far -- including myself. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! I have spent the past few years writing on various livejournal accounts, and I have just recently made a website to organise all the work I have done in the past three years. I guess it's my first real attempt at presenting my writing in a serious way. This is really not intended as spam! But if anyone is curious, and would like to read some of my words, thoughts, ideas on life; I'm very interested in hearing any kind of feedback you may have to share!
Just words flashing through my mind, like television to the senses, and by hand of creativity, letting go to waves of emotion, and offering life what I see of its mystery. http://www.sidrichmond.com
Thanks so much! Cheers!
Sorry if this is not allowed.

Hi, I'm new to this community. I currently hit the 30K mark yesterday and I'm trying to achieve 50K words by the beginning of next month.
About me:
Age: 25
Story genre: Vampire fantasy
WC: 30K
I have a few questions...
Does anyone else keep journals?
Does anyone else make maps for their fantasy stories?
If so, how do you make the maps? I just draw mine by pencil and paper.
Is anyone else into the same genre as me?
If anyone is into the same genre, I would like to share ideas and inspire each other as writers. It is very hard to find people interested in darker genre's.
My style:
I write very unconventional and often irritate people because of this method. I tend to write everything OUT of order and write what I feel inspired to write about at that moment. For example, I may prefer an execution scene over a love scene...it's really just depending on my mood for the day.
My rule is to not burn yourself out by doing everything from beginning to end- if you know a good editor that is! (Luckily, my husband happens to be a good editor. )
Does anyone else live on coffee and energy drinks? I have recently discovered latte rockstars as my new bane of my existance. I'm seriously addicted, since they can keep me up and writing until 6 a.m! Right now, I am currently making coffee at 2 a.m.
Are there any other late night writer's out there?
I'm trying to get at least 2-5K words written a day. That way, I know I am up to par on my writing.
