| Millennicon Website |
[May. 21st, 2008|11:51 am] |
This is just to let you know that the Art Show's web pages will be joining up with Millennicon's main web page in the very near future. (As soon as I find time to edit them and send them to our webmaster.) The Anarchy Acre site is closing. Until I have the web pages written and uploaded, contact me privately for info on the show. There's plenty of time yet.
Also, the con went well. I think I posted info on it a while back. If you lost track of it because of the website getting shut down, let me know and I'll try and post it to you. |

We managed to get the pre-check done. There are some missing art boxes but I'm hoping to see them in the next two days. I'm pretty sure the one will have gone out on Wednesday, last week.
We're looking at a nice, full, show this year. The space is a bit smaller, which complicates matters but we should be good to go!
It's hard to believe that in one week it'll all be over! |

| Millennicon Website Update |
[Nov. 13th, 2007|06:45 pm] |
I just updated the Millennicon Website with the information for 2008. Please check it out and let me know if there are link problems!
And check out our new rules for how the hanging queue works. Hopefully this is much more understandable than last year's guaranteed panel space idea.
The link is;

If it gives you trouble it's because of the _ in the site name. In which case you'll have to use;

| Millennicon Art Show Packages |
[Mar. 21st, 2007|02:57 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | accomplished | ] | This is just to let everyone know that the artist mail-back proceeded without a hitch and all art that didn't sell should be returning to their rightful owners within the week.
For general information, if you don't know this yet, the Post Office will not allow you to turn a Priority Mail box inside out to use for regular mail. This is because they supply the things for free and take the cost out of the amount you pay for priority.
Checks and payments will go out by end of day Friday. I will be posting a report for the con at that time as well.

This is just a quick line to let you know that within the hour I'll be on my way down to Millennicon to run the artshow.
If you've sent art and are interested in the status of the show, I'm going to be trying to use the hotel's wireless connection to stay in touch.
If things work out, I'll post stuff to here. You can email me privately as well if you have questions. |

| Watch the rollercoaster head towards the hill |
[Mar. 8th, 2007|06:19 pm] |
Hi all,
In one week and one day, Millennicon 2007 will be launching itself into the world. (Or at least into Cincinnati.)
We have had all of our guaranteeable panels reserved and are no longer accepting mail-in requests. If you're coming to the Con there may be space for a bit more, but I can't guarantee it. We have more tables, however, for those of you coming in with 3D art.
If you've contacted me on getting space for mail-in art, please make sure your stuff is headed my way. I like to get as much of the mail-in art pre-checked in case of problems. (This also lets me get the data files in on my computer.) The due date is Monday the 12th and if you're going to be late, I need to know.
Thanks!

| February Update |
[Feb. 5th, 2007|12:54 pm] |
Hello all,
Just an update on Millennicon's current status. We currently have approximately 18 artists who've contacted me for panel space. All of our 4x4 panels have been taken. Of the 55 3x4 panels we currently have a total of 26 paid for, 9 requested but not paid for and 20 left to fill.
It's come to my attention that some of my wording is confusing and I apologize for that. The main point of the guaranteed panels is to make sure that if we end up with too much art (as we occasionally do) the artists who get in and paid for soonest are the ones who get their art put up on panels instead of placed on tables for overflow. Suffice it to say that doing this will help us avoid having overflow in the first place, hence the need to get your requests in as soon as you can.
I'll try to rework the wording over the next year. In the meantime, just remember that I need your requests for guaranteed panels by February 28th. And don't forget that you still need to contact me to get space reserved even if you're using the .PDF forms I have on-line.
Thanks!

| Millennicon 2007 |
[Nov. 14th, 2006|10:44 am] |
Hi all,
I'm going to be getting the mailing for Millennicon in 2007 out on Thursday. If you're on my mailing list and haven't moved since last year, you should be getting it within the next week.
If you have moved though, please let me know before Thursday morning. Same if you aren't on the list and want to be.
There are some changes coming up that I think will be appreciated.
First off, we've gone to single page forms for the bid sheets. That means that we no longer ask for a SASE for more than 16 bid sheets because you can copy your own if you need to.
Secondly, we now have the control/bid sheet request sheet posted on the website (links to follow). You can fill out the .RTF using any word processor that supports that format and email it to me to save postage.
Thirdly, the requirement for those requesting guaranteed panels to have their art in by March 1st is no longer in effect. It must be in the Monday before the con, just like everyone else's. We still require some sort of monetary guarantee in the form of the hanging fee check by Feb. 28th, however.
I can't think of anything else right now. We're in a new venue (or an old/new venue) but the amount of space should remain the same, since it worked for us last time. I'm going to be working on lighting increases, but there are a few places that weren't as bright last time. We'll do our best to minimize the problem.

[Mar. 21st, 2006|07:46 am] |

| | busy | ] | Hey all,
I promise a more intensive report before I mail out checks this week, since I usually include that information in my mailing. However, I just wanted to note that if you want to find out if you sold something, email me privately and I'll check the books.
Also, package mailing may be mildly delayed. (one to two days) We're currently expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow today. If there is, I won't be able to do the run around until things settle down.
Drop me a line if you have questions.

| The Con is Coming! |
[Mar. 17th, 2006|07:15 am] |
Today is the first day of the con. I'll be heading down in just a few hours.
If you sent in art, we have it. If you're a walk-in we'll be watching for you!
I don't know if I'll be able to post from the con. If I can, I'll put a small report here. Take care all! |

| Update 3/8/2006 |
[Mar. 8th, 2006|08:26 am] |
| [ | mood |
| | busy | ] | Just a quick update for the status of Millennicon, 2006.
The show dates are March 17th thru March 19th. We are going three bids to auction and our auction will be at 9pm, Saturday Night. Walk-in artist check in will begin as soon as we get the basic tables and panel setup done. Please check with me when you arrive and I'll have a better idea of when that will be.
Our Featured Artist is Dale Ziemianski. Unfortunately, Dale himself cannot attend but he has done a beautiful program book cover for us.
Our Featured Artist for 2007 will be Donna Waltz and she will attending. I hear from the grapevine that she's going to be doing a lot of panels too. Thanks, Donna! (I'll nudge Mark at the concom meeting for that info for you.)
Our due dates are as follows; Mail-in art should be in my hands by March 11th, 2006. If there are problems please let me know.
We will accept art after the above due date but request that you contact us and let us know so we can be watching for the art.
Our available space is as follows;
Out of 9 guaranteeable tables, 3 have been requested and paid for and one has been requested but not, paid for yet, leaving 6 tables entirely free.
Out of 55 3x4' guaranteeable panels, 36 have been requested and paid for, and 16 have been requested but not yet paid for, leaving 3 entirely free.
Out of 4 4x4' guaranteeable panels, 4 have been requested and paid for, leaving none free.
We have sent forms but not yet received art from the following artists (by number); 10, 15, 16, 33, 76, 80, 84, 85, 103, 109, 112, 122, 128, 129, 130, 131, 133, 135, 136, 137 (Note: Some may be walk in artists and their art is not expected to arrive until they arrive at the show.)
We have received art from the following artists (by number); 2, 6, 9, 62, 89, 114, 116, 120(?), 132, 134 (2 boxes) (The question mark is for an artist in the Ft. Lauderdale area. No name was on the package so I'm not absolutely certain that it's hers.)
============================================== Next year I will be requesting permission to post the above by artist names. If you've requested forms or sent art and aren't sure about your number, email me privately and I'll confirm the number for you. |

Please beat me with wet noodles. The date for receiving requests should be February 15th, not February 28th.
