Seabound
Coming together as band-mates some 12 years ago, Seabound's Martin Vorbrodt and Frank Spinath have lived through the sleepless nights and confronted some demons to bask in the glow of their success. It was 1999 when Seabound got the nod from a label and started making their brand of electronic music known to the world at large, and that world has been receptive to their contact. Their latest release, Double-Crosser, is filled with themes of deceit and self-deception, set to a score that at times is both complimentary and contradictory.

2006's Double-Crosser CD is a violent psychological storm of emotions all tied into the themes of deceit and self-deception. Imagine every emotion one is faced with when they find out someone they love has decimated their trust. Love, anger, depression, blame and remorse pull the listener through the deepest recesses of the human psyche as they begin to question the very truth they were presented. Frank Spinath from Seabound notes “…the more you see through the facades, the more life's contradictions and irreconcilable needs will haunt you. If you lack the naïveté to find consolation in easy dogmatic rules, you will have to face the unsolvable sooner or later.” Becoming a more confident singer on this album, Frank’s vocals are accentuated by Seabound’s signature sounds and arrangements.

Martin Vorbrodt's varying compositions facilitate a balance with the lyrics to emphasize the feelings throughout the songs. From the fast paced “Traitor” where anger and frustration prevail to slower paced “Sapphire” where hope is present, Double-Crosser explores the temptations that we are faced with everyday and how they affect the people dearest to you.

Iris
As most pioneering bands in the electro and synthpop scene tend to be imported from Europe, Iris are one of the few American acts to make a significant mark. With their blend of infectious dance and addictive melodies, the duo of Reagan Jones and Andrew Sega are steadily bringing Iris to the forefront as today's stars of synthpop. This is the bands first visit back to Detroit since 2002!

Mankind is Obsolete
Mankind is Obsolete began with founding members Natasha Cox (vocals) and Jon Siren (drums) in 2002. Jon relocated to Los Angeles from Columbus, Ohio and met Natasha from Texas while playing in Pseudocipher, a Hollywood-based electronic group. During that time Jon joined Hate Dept. as their keyboardist/drummer. The two decided to write music on their own while continuing their duties with Pseudocipher and Hate Dept.

By year's end, MKIO's groundwork had been laid and several songs were already in the final stages of recording. It was at this point that new members were needed, so Jon and Natasha recruited Mark Nurre(guitar) and Jaime Roy (bass). The four rehearsed together several times and soon added a fifth member, Nathan Trowbridge (lights, sound, backing vocals). Clay has recently joined the MKIO team as well to contribute visuals to their live performances, which lasers, lights, and projectors.

Mankind is Obsolete released the six song Metamorph EP in August 2003 and have been attracting interest internationally with MP3's of the band's work online and radio stations in Europe, New Zealand, Asia, and South America. Along with writing new songs for the next full album, MKIO is currently building a fanbase through their dynamic live performances in southern California and their US tours.

Remaining CD items for sales from DJ Saint [22 Jan 2008|07:05pm]

m_saint
A few of you may have caught this on some of the message boards but I figured I'd make another go around...

Now that I am done DJ'ing, I'm selling off some items from my CD collection.   So.... here's the remaining list. Some stuff has been picked over but theres still some decent stuff left (ie: And One, Iris, Devision, Mentallo and plenty of trance...).

Prices aren't included on the list, but if you see something let me know what you are interested in and we'll work out a fair price
