Current mood: contemplative
Current music:"Working on the Highway" - Bruce Springsteen

I've just been reading this;
http://www.boukenshin.net/crowley/musical.php

and I started wondering about the musical tastes of the GO characters. Does anyone know any songs or singers they think a particular character would like?

Of course Anathema's music collection wouldn't be complete without "Age of Aquarius", and the Them probably just listen to whatever preteens around the time the book is set listen to (I thought the book was 1996, but it might be 1990 or some other time - I was just guessing). And I'm still convinced Hastur and Ligur are closet Pogues fans;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogues

How could they not like songs with titles like "Boys from the County Hell" and "The Turkish Song of the Damned"? Though "If I Should Fall From Grace With God" would bring back bad memories and result in them never mentioning the album again . . .

Here's what I think!

Crowley:
"Sunglasses at Night"--Corey Hart
"We Are the Normal"--Goo Goo Dolls
"Otherside"--Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Pinch Me"--Barenaked Ladies
"One Week"--Barenaked Ladies
"I Want to Break Free"--Queen
"The Whistle Song"--DJ Aligator
"Cell Block Tango"--from Chicago
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams"--Green Day

Aziraphale:
"Hands"--Jewel
"You Raise Me Up"--Josh Groban
"Light in Your Eyes"--Sheryl Crow
"Breathe (2AM)"--Anna Nalick
"Heaven is a Place on Earth"
"Help Pour Out the Rain"--Buddy Jewell

And just for the heck of it...

Lucifer:
"Devil Went Down to Georgia"--Charlie Daniels Band
"Breaking the Habit"--Linkin Park
"Dragula"--Rob Zombie
"What It's Like"--Everlast
"One Headlight"--Wallflowers
"Unwell"--Matchbox 20
"Hey Ya"--OutKast
"Music of the Night"--from Phantom of the Opera</i>

*shrugs* I thought they fit.

Thanks! Though it really shows how much free time we have when we can sit around wondering what music Satan listens to, doesn't it? (Relax. I have even more, until Monday when I have to go back to school *sulks*)

I can't really see Them listening to teeny bopper music. *shrug*

Well, it says somewhere in The Book that Crowley has Velvet Underground tapes in his car (morphed into Queen, of course), which would make sense to me even if it wasn't stated. Anything slightly unsettling with lots of screechy guitar. ;)

The Metatron listens to Christpop. Specifically: True Vibe. Specifically: Sweet Jesus.

It glitters.

I know it's weird, but I was driving along the other day and heard Sarah MacLachlan's World on Fire... thought of them...

I know it's creepy-ish now, but I imagine the Them would have been Michael Jackson fans in the day. And I'm sure the "Grease" soundtrack would have made a notable appearance.

As for Anathema, I think she would like a band I recently was exposed to called Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. I'm not smart or cool enough to explain why.

Newt like Josh Groban.

I have no doubt that Aziraphale would own each and every Spice Girls album.
