We've got to keep the traffic flowing and accept a little spin...
Hello!

I'm a first-time poster, but a long-time fan of Good Omens. This community is truly awesome, guys! Until discovering it, I sort of felt like The Only One. But as we all know, that's just not true. *wink*

A question: does anyone else find that the song "Long Line of Cars" by Cake invariably reminds you of Crowley? I'll post the lyrics for those of you who haven't heard it. But, honestly! It sounds like Crowley, all the way, bragging about his antics producing the M25(?) highway.

There's a long line of cars
And they're trying to get through

There's no single explanation
There's no central destination

But this long line of cars
Is trying to get through

And this long line of cars

Is all because of you

You don't wonder where we're going
Or remember where we've been

We've got to keep this traffic
Flowing and accept a little spin

So this long line of cars
will never have an end

And this long line of cars
Keeps coming around the bend

From the streets of Sacramento
To the freeways of L.A.

We've got to keep this fire burning
and accept a little gray

So this long line of cars

Is trying to break free

(drawn out words)
And this long line of cars
Is all because of me
This long line of cars
Long line of cars
Long line of cars
Long line of cars

Totally. I'm thinkin' Crowley is rather fond of Cake, what with their penchant for writing songs about cars. :D

Yeah. I could almost picture Crowley having John McCrea's voice, y'know? All kind of smartass and gravelly-like, with that flippant sense of humor. ;0)

Smartass and gravelly-like. That's utterly it, isn't it? Maybe McCrea's on his List of Musicians Under His Influence; it would certainly go far to explain "Satan Is My Motor", if nothing else.

*high-fives you back* Dood. I pine for the days when people high-fived with any sort of regularity. *sniffle*
And, for the love of Cake: mind if I friend you? *tweedles thumbs*

If you took out the lines about LA and Sacramento that song could easily be about the M25.
