1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown. Natasha Rae
2. About how long is your history as a Lolita? Four years now :]
3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion? It allows me to be cute, glamorous and girly. I love the fact that the dresses were victorian inspired as well. I also liked that I could dress in both gothic lolita and sweet lolita and even though they're still the same style, there's a different element to them.
4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita? Well, with my modeling I haven't done many lolita themed photo shoots (and I'm not really sure why I haven't) but in real life I dress the part more often. Even though I may not wear my more expensive dresses everyday, I'll usually wear a nice skirt and blouse or something like that. And even when I'm not totally dresses in lolita, I still like to maintain the lolita attitude and graces.
5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc). I like to mix both gothic lolita and sweet lolita. Some days I'll be dressed in all light pink, some days it's all black, and some days I mix it all together.
6. About how many Lolita friends do you have? My sister is starting to get into lolita, and one of my friends is into lolita as well.
7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita? Feeling girly, cute and elegant.
8. Conversely, what's the worst thing? I've started to make my own dresses, and that can be a bit of a pain, but it's definitely worth it when the end result is good!
9. Which Lolita Brands do you like? I like handmade clothing the most, just because you can add your own unique style to the garments, but I also adore Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, Angelic Pretty, and Rakuen.
10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned? A black lace/tulle skirt with small black bows on it.
11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item? I'm a huge fan of bloomers, to be honest. I just think they're so cute and delicate ^_^
12. Do you wear drawers? As I started before, I'm a huge fan. Especially if they have lots of lace or ruffles!
13. Do you have any favorite Japanese music? Not really, I like a lot of it.
14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita? I love to dress up and go get tea and cake at a local coffee shop.
15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita? Most everyday, unless I'm just hanging out at home, then I'll just wear pjs.
16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita. Well, it's not so much embarrassing as much as it is mean. People were very cruel and made a lot of jokes about my style, but I just tried to ignore them as much as possible.
17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most? I think long hair is better than short, but it depends on the individual. I myself have shoulder length black hair with swoop bangs.
18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason? Nope!

21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes? Foundation, powder, a bit of blush, liquid eyeliner, mascara and a light pink lip gloss.
22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out? Haha, I always bring other clothes with me, usually I change in the car though.
23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself? I suppose you could say that, I guess it's just part of being lolita.
24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes & accessory monthly? I make most of my stuff, so that definitely helps with cost!
25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it? Fabrics and lace for a dress: $150 I guess it isn't that much though, considering some brands charge $300+!
26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods? Over all, quite a bit! hahaha
27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of Lolita? I have a small job while I'm not at school.
28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not. I haven't yet :/ Like I said, I make most of my stuff.
29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best. I've found many that I really like! I'm always more willing to spend my money on handmade items, I'm an artist and I want to help others who enjoy the same things and do them well!
30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"? $450 dresses at Angelic Pretty :/
31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay? I'm not offended by it or anything like that, but I think sometimes they tend to to it rather tacky :/ I don't like outfits that look like you bought them at a cheap costume shop.
32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’) I think lolita is a perfect style for little girls! But I also think older women could still pull it off if done in the right way. If someone likes the way they dress, who's to say they should stop!
33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about? I agree with the girl who posted before me when she said " I don't want lolitas to be hateful to new lolitas, or to people who are just curious about the "weird" clothes." I think that as long as people are polite, you should always welcome them with open arms.
34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about? I think full outfits are important. I also feel that the attitude and grace you have are very important as well though.
35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita? I've gotten better at making the outfits!
36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita? Yup!
37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear? Yeah, I just don't usually wear my bonnets or real fancy dresses when I'm going more casual.
38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as a lolita)?”) I do ^_^ He's wonderful. He's very supportive about anything that I choose to do or that I'm interested in. It's not his personal style (he's more of a greaser), but I think he's pretty accepting of lolita.
39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it? My mom loves it, she usually helps me make and design my outfits! And my little sister is starting to get into it, so it'll be fun to have someone to dress up with!
40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now? Someone who is elegant and classy weather they're dressed up or not. Someone who lives the lifestyle. And someone who has well made garments!

28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not. I have. Asobi Seksu - New Years |

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown. I'm Mji, or Miko, and I come from Stockholm in Sweden. yoroshiku!
2. About how long is your history as a Lolita? Oh, ever since I learned lolita excisted around '05, I've felt drawn to it, I guess. I've been slowly building a wardrobe for maybe two years now, but I've only managed to be an everyday lolita for a much shorter time. I'm so happy to finally have reached this far! ^_^
3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion? Two reasons, really. Firstly, I just thought it was beautiful. Second, I was ecstatic at finally finding a lovely feminine fashion style where you are actually -supposed- to be covered up. I don't feel comfortable with too short skirts and too much cleavage etc, so this was something that really made me want to be a part of it.
4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita? Well, ever since I looked into lolita, I've wanted to be one, however, I didn't have the chance till later. If that counts as resistance, I don't know. XD
5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc). I dress in kuro lolita most of the time. I also adore classic lolita, and am currently dreaming of getting a shiro loli outfit.
6. About how many Lolita friends do you have? Sadly, not so many. An old friend of mine from high school is into lolita fashion, and sews her own a lot, however she's not an everyday lolita. But lately, my best friend seems to get more and more into lolita, too.. I wonder who's the culprit....
7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita? That's a tough one. It'd be easy to say it's for the bonnets and the poofy skirts, but I believe there's more to it than that. I love how I feel free to be as childish as I please, and how natural it feels to be polite and kind.
8. Conversely, what's the worst thing? Hmm, maybe that I never seem to have enough money for the things I want. XD.. But what came to mind first is when I get bad attention because of my clothes in public.
9. Which Lolita Brands do you like? Baby, the stars shine bright was my first love. I adore their designs most of the time. But recently, I've been very impressed by some Innocent World items.
10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned? ...I can't remember. ._.;
11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item? A petticoat. There are so many things that you need to complete a proper lolita outfit, but what you'll always need is a petticoat.
12. Do you wear drawers? Every day. Although I mostly wear stockings underneath, I feel much more at ease with drawers on. And it looks so cute with ribbon bows and frills peeking out from under your skirt. <3
13. Do you have any favorite Japanese music? I used to be a huge jrock fan, but one or two years ago my interest started to fade. Back then my favorite jrock bands included Dir en grey, MUCC, baroque, D'espairsRay, hide, SADS, Plastic Tree, etc. I still think they're really good, but I usually find myself listening to other things now.
14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita? I can't think of anywhere in particular.
15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita? Generally every day, however, I use to have one day a week when I don't. This is mainly because I often wear a corset under my lolita clothes, and I need to rest from it sometimes.
16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita. I can't say that I remember anything, I've really tried to take it slow and not rush into things before I feel confident that I know what I'm doing.
17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most? I really think this is different for everyone. It depends on what look you're going for, and what type of hair you've got to work with.
18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason? Sometimes I jokingly think to myself that I don't know what I've gotten myself into. This is usually when I'm drooling over a dress or item I plainly shouldn't buy. XD;
19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...) I don't think I can pinpoint something like that, it's mostly a sense of ideal that comes with lolita that I really look up to. This ideal can of course be different from loli to loli. But I guess if I would have to name something I look up to, it would be every lolita-nee-san who devote themselves to their style, and sincerely believe in being humble and polite as a part of the lolita fashion.
20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely! I don't have a doll, but I have a few plushies that are special to me. ^__^.. I have two gloomy bears (a pink big one, and a tiny one in red), a black Kana bunny named Sha, and a Hello Kitty designed by Vivienne Westwood (she's in a blackxwhite lolita outfit, so cute details!<3).
But the plushie that means most to me is my oldest one. It's a white bunny, very human in its proportions (long straight legs, standing upright) named Mi-Mo. I got it from my dad when I was about six years old, and years later I cut its head off, and painted it with some red ink to make it look decapitated. The head and the body are attached by a long chain, a sewn-on metal ring and a safetypin now a days (it's got its little pink neck-ribbon tied in a bow in the metal ring sewn onto the remains of its neck). And no, I don't think it's either a female or a male bunny, so I'll just call it an "it". Kinda a morbid little bunny, huh? :3.. I've thought of fixing it, wash off the "blood" and sew the head back on, but it doesn't matter how it looks to me, I'll still love it all the same. It's sitting on my desk at the moment, with its head in its lap looking at me. *snuggles it* ;o;
Additionally, I have a safety blanket of sorts, from when I was just a baby. I don't carry it around anymore like I used to, but I always know exactly where it is, and still cherish it greatly. <3
21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes? Very basic make up, I barely ever wear lipstick or eyeshadow. Sometimes I don't even bother with a foundation or powder. I usually wear mascara though, and I like to have some lip balm so my lips don't get all dry, especially in the winter.
22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out? No, never. XD I put on what I want to wear at home, then I stay like that. However, for what I know, that's pretty common among japanese lolita-chan (and other Harajuku kids etc.), for various reasons.
23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself? I'm pretty much always the only lolita, whether I walk alone or with my friends, but to me it doesn't matter that I am.
24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes & accessory monthly? ....Probably far too much. Let's not go there. XDD
25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it? ..I honestly don't know. D: After I get my items, I never remember what I had to pay, only that I was wealthier before. XD;;
26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods? Again, I don't keep track of that. If I knew that, I'd feel very guilty.
27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of Lolita? I would get a job, but I'm too busy with school at the moment, so it's not an option. And since I don't get much of an "allowance" from my parents, I have to get by with the money I save from various things. But of course I have sold older things to get enough money for new things.
28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not. I have yet to try a brand's english store, I mainly look for things on auctions instead, mainly because I'm a little intimidated by them. ._.;; ...oh, I did buy from Body Line's english store once, if that counts. My experience with them is that they have better quality than people seem to think, also their customer service is awesome, and the shipping is very fast indeed.
Other than that, as for proper stores, I've bought from In the Starlight mostly, also from Stocking Shock, and a few others for small things. ITS has always been good, but Stocking Shock took an awfully long time to finish and send my order (over two months).
29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best. I don't think I've got anything new for you all, in case you've seen the list of stores on the Avant Gauge site. n__n;;
30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"? Of course. However, I've never thought that it's unreasonable that I want it. >_>;;
31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay? I'm fine with it, I think it's fun to see when they do it good. I get a little annoyed when lolis bash them for wanting to cosplay lolita. However, I get annoyed when people call bad quality cosplay "lolita fashion", as well. But, even if I don't do it much anymore, as an old, frequent concert-goer, I can say that if there's an occasion that I wouldn't want to dress lolita for, it would be a concert. (unless we're talking orchestra/opera)
32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’) This reminds me of the latest update on the Lolita Charm blog. It was called "How old are you, lolita-chan?" and addressed how young is too young to start. I personally think she had some good points. I don't think girls who's barely become teenagers yet should be obsessed with any kind of brands, be it lolita or not, however, home-made or replicas etc, why shouldn't young girls get to wear that? Lolita clothes are a dream for the girly girls, ne.
As for when you should stop, I think there isn't a definite age limit there either. I think you'll notice yourself when you're starting to look too old, or mature, to wear lolita, however, you don't have to stop completely. I myself would start wearing more mature styles instead, maybe aristocrat inspired.
33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about? Yes, especially on the behavior part. Lolita who think of themselves as better than people who aren't lolita, lolita who think what defines being a good lolita is how many brand-items you own, and lolita who in general are rude and disrespectful, makes me kinda sad. I'd rather not be associated with people like that, and I'd hate for that to be the way people think of lolita's as.
As for the fashion, I think everyone should dress in what they like, and want to wear. However, I myself would never wear a dress that looks like a frilly toilet-roll. o.o;; ...or black lace on pink. But it's just my personal taste. XD
34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about? I guess. You can't just put on a skirt and a button up shirt and say "Now I'm a lolita!". There are many little details that makes a lolita into what she is. I think it takes a lot of work and devotion to be a lolita, which is probably the reason some get so angry at people who cosplay lolita.
35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita? Not really, I still feel most comfortable in kuro, and I adore classic styles, bustle-skirts and velvet. Though, in the beginning I was probably more into solid colors, and have later grown into liking certain patterns and prints.
36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita? Yes.
37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear? Yes. If I'm going outside and want to be casual, I could and probably would wear lolita, but if I'm planning on sitting at home all day, I usually don't get out of my night gown. XD.. I'm so lazy, really.
38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as a lolita)?”) Nope, I'm single right now. Actually, I seem to mostly have girlfriends, not boyfriends, when I'm not.
39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it? Mom keeps complimenting me for it, grandma too, dad doesn't really seem to notice, and all my friends haven't seemed to have anything against it. I think most of them think it's fun. But all my friends are a lovely bunch of weirdos anyway. <3
40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now? I hold all lolita that are both kind and well dressed in very high regard, and if you're also an onee-san trying to be a positive role model for beginner lolita-chan, that's amazing. <3
41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made? I started to make a black velvet set, with a skirt, bolero and headdress, but it's still in the making. Other than that, I've only customized some items, and made small things, like bows and head wear.
42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us. I don't really know about that, I just wear what looks good together. For example, I have a bustle skirt with an alice print, and a cut sew with card suit shaped buttons that I love wearing together.
43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a simple of Lolita”? ... ._. I don't know if I understand the question right. But what I think defines lolita? Some key things: the bell-shaped skirt, cotton and velvet fabrics, neatness, old-fashioned toys like music boxes, porcelain dolls, a rocking horse, and of course tea and sweets.
44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita? It would be fun, at least when they're still very young for special occasions, so that we match. When they get older, they'll have to choose for themselves what they want, all on their own.
45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita? A kind, loving, playful and well-mannered little lady.

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown. Angelik, Las Vegas 2. About how long is your history as a Lolita? Only a few days, about 5 3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion? The rococo influences 4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita? Yes! From the outside it just seemed so snarky and expensive to me. I've known about lolita for abotu a year, but never had an urge to wear it or join the community of wearers! 5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc). Mostly sweet, like 95% with some classic, casual, country, & sailor 6. About how many Lolita friends do you have? none, =( 7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita? I LOVE the period influences! I get to go back in time. I get to be the princess I never was as a little girl! 8. Conversely, what's the worst thing? As I said, from the outside lolita seems extremely snarky. As if it is all about the brand clothes and nothing else! 9. Which Lolita Brands do you like? If you didn't sense it by now (especially from my answer above) I am NOT a brand person! I can't stand the idea of brand. Give me some hand made with love clothing items any day over brand! 10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned? A JSK from The White Peacock 11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item? I'd have to say petticoats to shape the skirts, OPs, & JSKs correctly. Without them, the items seem just another dress! 12. Do you wear drawers? you mean bloomers? absolutely! they're just that finishing touch to an outfit! 13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music? Not really, Most of it is in....well.....Japanese. I don't like music I can't understand! 14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita? Everywhere, I'm an everyday, all occassions lolita! 15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita? Everyday! 16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita. Nothing yet! *Croses Finger* 17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most? Well, I like my hair the way it is tho I'm getting it cut with side sweeping bangs and layers ot frame my face. It's a dark brown, almost black with dirty blonde highlights in it! Also, color? I would have to say pink. It's my favorite color and I just so happen to look amazing in it! 18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason? Nope! 19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...) Information I've gathered from noline from the many sources available! 20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely! I have about 25 BJDs and about 150 other types of dolls! I LOVE my dolls so much! 21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes? I go for a very natural little girl look with attention to the eyes! 22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out? No! 23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself? Sure! 24. Let's just say lots and leave it at that! 27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of Lolita? A rich husband, lol 28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not. Sure I have, plenty of times! It's the easiest and practically the only way to do it for us Americans! 29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best. hmmm, I like TWP! The longer length of their skirts on me are nice. I like the feel of skirts below my knee and not at my knee! 30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"? no! 31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay? Hmmm, If that's what they want to do then who am I to judge? But I would never do it. Personally i think if you're gonna do lolita you shoudld evelop the life style and do it everyday! 32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate') There's no age. Though, I do think if you are in your 20s, like I am you do need to look younger then your age. You should have soft facial features as well! 33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about? Yes, Being mean, disrespectful, rude, inconsiderate, uncourteous, etc......The list could go on! If you are going to be a lolita, you should act like a young lady during the Victorian era, IMO! Also being oovertly sexual. Lolita is supposed to have a young innocent girl feel to it, That's why I'm not a big fan of the whole ero-loli thing! 34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about? Yes, I think you should act appropriately when wearing the clothes or interacting with other people into the fashion! 35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita? Actually since I got into lolita, I've noticed an urge to take better care of myself. I wash my face every day, lotion my skin every day (cause I live in the dry desert). I've also developed a tea time at 3PM every day I sit down for a cup of tea with little tea cakes or a tea sandwhich. I make the small cakes and sandwhiches for the next day after I have sat down and had my tea! I am more polite and helpful to people now then I was before, not that I wasn't before ro anything! 36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita? I take at home college courses and I am a hosue wife! This does not apply to me. 37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear? Absolutely! 38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”) Yes, He understand me as a lolita! What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it? My family does. My husband likes how lady like I have become, my mom likes how conservative it looks compared to what I used to wear. 40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now? I dunno? 41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made? Well, I'm in the process of finishing up a country JSK right now. It's blue/white gingham with sunflowers on it and white ruffley lace at the very bottom. I used a McCalls pattern,b ut altered a bit (wider skirt, etc..) 42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us. If it's pink and cute, I L.O.V.E. it! 43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a simple of Lolita”? No? 44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita? Oh, absolutely! But, I''d be worried witht he way children are and the world is today that they wouldn't like it! 45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita? Someone older (maybe starting around their mid teens?), but young looking! This means that over weight people qualify as well because some children are over weight and chubby, just look at my little 13 yo sister and she does eat healthy foods. I think you need short legs, long legs seem to make all the garments too short on you; A sweet look to you; A kind and caring attitude! You need bangs, what's the use in trying ot look sweet and innocent child like if you can't pull off the hair? I think you need soft facial features to pull it off. Porcelain dolls do not have harsh facial features traditionally, so if you are going to pull of lolita right, you need soft features! Healthy shiney hair, along with the proper hair cut, you hair needs to look healthy. I think you need to be strong and confident! You need to be a good role model for little girls who may admire your look and clothing!

32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’) I think, as there are brands like Shirley Temple, DRESS YOUR KIDS UP FROM AN EARLY AGE AND MAKE THEM FEEL SUPER-SPARKLY! 8DDDD and for graduating, I think that disgression is up to the individual. Though, for me, I think around 26, or as soon as I think "hey Emi, this looks a tad rediculous now. yeah?"
33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about? To be completely loud and ferociously-hyper. Like ADHD hyper T___T *gets parasol ready* I just can't bear it. Sure, more sweet, AP-type clothing is happy, but ... have dignity.. and like self awareness/respect please?? And think of how others in your meetup group will then appear to others in public.
34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about? hmm. Not really. Just have general common sense and be curtious to people. Then again, I think people in general should have this. ...but sadly.. it's not always the case.
35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita? I think, I can be a 'coordinate queen' now! And I also seem more enthusiastic towards how well each item is made, I inspect this before buying always!~
36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita? hell yes. *promotes*
37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear? yeah. Why not. I think, especially as I want to be a full-time lolita. I need to do this.
38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”) *drinks tea and strokes cats* no nonono... I wish I did. but... I will probably be a crazy old cat-lady until I die. TT 3TT)/ I just wish "I could find my prince".
39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it? yeah most of them do. Which is really nice. I am grateful for it.
40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now? beautiful, classic coordinates; Kokusyoku Sumire, some deco-loli.
41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made? I am trying to set up my own brand. I have material and designs for dresses and skirts etc, but have yet to make them. I have only made a hat and phone straps.
42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us. *ideas itching away* soon... soon.
43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a sample of Lolita”? hmm... probably a flock/paisley motif. or in a logo - the AP bow logo! XD
44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita? <333 yes <333 and boys go in little ouji-kei outfits!
45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita? someone who is fresh-faced, slim (lol so i am not idea yet XD), pale, takes good care of their hair, does their makeup well, wears things that suit them and is a genuinely nice person to talk to and be around.

1. Please tell us your Hand Name (name that’s used ONLY in internet.) and hometown. Riko.
2. About how long is your history as a Lolita? Three years.
3. What first motivated you to do Lolita fashion? It started with anime, which led to Shimotsuma Monotagari, and the rest is history.
4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita? Not really. I jumped in headfirst, sewing my first Lolita dress after extensive research very soon after the discovery.
5. Please define your Lolita style as much as possible. (eg. gothic Lolita, sweet Lolita, white Lolita…. Etc). Sweet, almost definitely. I love the sweet styles, but in darker colors. Black x white, red, or plain black are my favorites, though I have some cream. I also have some classic outfits, bordering on Steampunk.
6. About how many Lolita friends do you have? Not very many close Lolita friends, but I like to go to meetups when I can.
7. What is the best thing about doing Lolita? Being able to show my feminine side in a way that is still alternative fashion. I love making people look twice, and Lolita is the perfect way for me to feel beautiful and still turn ordinary people's heads with how odd I look to them!
8. Conversely, what's the worst thing? Having the name and fashion misunderstood for something sexual, or being mistaken for cosplay.
9. Which Lolita Brands do you like? BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT is my favorite. I also like Innocent World and Candy Violet.
10. What was the first Lolita item that you’ve owned? A pretty floral JSK that I made myself!
11. What is the “must have!” Lolita item? Petticoat! I cannot live with a good petticoat.
12. Do you wear drawers? Yep!
13. Do you have any favourite Japanese music? I like Gothic-type music like V-K artists The Gazette, and female artists like ALI PROJECT.
14. Where do you particularly visit as Lolita? Various shopping malls, gardens, and just around my university campus. I also like to wear it when I go into the city.
15. About how many times per week do you dress as Lolita? Usually just once a week, because I have work which is hard to wear Lolita to. I'll wear it more if I'm going to a special meetup or a convention.
16. Please tell us about one embarrassing episode from the time when you were just beginning Lolita. I wouldn't say that I have a specific episode, but one of my first items ordered from Japan was a Bodyline yukata-style dress. The skirt was much too short, so I had some awkward times before I made a new one to go with it.
17. What's hairstyle and color that you think Lolita would suite the most? I've seen it work with almost every style and color, and a lot of it depends on the style of dress. My very favorites are hime cut in dark brown or black for Gothic, and honey-brown curls in pigtails or down for Sweet, but I think anything can be made to look good.
18. Have you ever thought of stopping Lolita? The reason? Never! I am often disappointed when I think about how I will get older and have to work full time, and my time to dress Lolita will be much more limited. When I get too old to look good in my Sweet dresses, I will switch to Aristocrat, and keep wearing that as a dignified elderly lady!
19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...) GosuRori sewing mook. I love all the cute designs, and it pleases me that I can recreate them. It also has many good examples of hairstyles and coordination both in brand advertisements and the models for the sewing projects.
20. Do you own a doll? Tell us your feelings about her intensely! Unfortunately, I do not. I am going to start setting aside money to get a full-service mini Dollfie, though, so someday soon I will have her.
21. What kind of make-up do you wear when you wear Lolita clothes? Understated and natural with classic/Steampunk, soft with a little bit of sparkle for Sweet with light colored outfits and darker emphasis on the eyes with dark colored dresses. The base is usually the same--I have pale skin, so all it takes is a little bit of concealer and some good powder. The difference always lies in the eye makeup.
22. Have you ever secretly changed clothes in a train station bathroom on Lolita day-out? Nope. I haven't ever had a need to.
23. Are you composed when doing Lolita all by yourself? Yes! I have to be, since that happens the most often. I actually quite enjoy explaining to people what I'm wearing.
24. How much do you spend in your Lolita clothes& accessary monthly? It depends on how much I am making, but usually around $100 a month, which can either go towards saving for a brand item, or buying fabric and lace for a new project.
25. What is the most expensive Lolita thing you've bought so far? How much was it? My first BABY jumperskirt. It was around $250USD, not including shipping.
26. So far about how much has the expense been for Lolita goods? I haven't been keeping track, but I would estimate around $1000 so far. It disappears pretty quicly at $100 here, or $50 there. I don't make very many big purchases, but the little things do add up!
27. Lolita outfit really costs money. How do you raise money to cover the cost of Lolita? I work part-time during the school year for my university information technology department fixing computers, and then full-time during the summer doing whatever I can. This summer I am working as a receptionist in a doctor's office.
28. Have you ever bought from an online store? If so, please tell us its good and bad points and some advice for the future. If not, please tell us why not. Of course! I buy from BABY and Closet Child. I haven't had any problems yet--the service is usually very good, with fast shipping. The only advice I have is to very carefully read the ordering instructions so that you know you are doing everything right. Most sites are quite particular about how you order when ordering in English on an all Japanese website.
29. Even if you sort of want to keep it a secret, please clandestinely tell us about a private manufacturer that is the best. Me? I haven't bought from anyone except big brands or consignment stores, because anything I don't buy I can make myself.
30. Is there a brand and/or an item that you think, "I could never get it! But I unreasonably want it!"? Of course! I always feel that way about Innocent World. I could get it, but I don't want to use a shopping service. I'm going to wait and buy the things I want that don't ship internationally when I go to Japan next summer!
31. What do you think about people who only do Lolita at music-lives or cosplay? It's their choice. I think that Lolita is supposed to embody freedom, so why not let them only dress up when they want to? As long as they do not try and make people think that all Lolitas are like that, I am fine with it.
32. From what age to what age is it acceptable to do Lolita? Do you think that there's a state in which someone must graduate from Lolita? (you can answer as ‘never graduate’) I think a girl ought to be old enough to understand the nuances of fashion and be willing to do research and earn money for the fashion. For some girls, that is 12 or 13 years old. For others, it is 17 or 18. It depends a lot on your temperament and common sense. As far as graduating, I think there comes a point where you start looking silly in the sweeter styles, but it should be perfectly acceptable to switch to aristocrat or find ways to still wear the accessories you love without looking silly at an older age. I will probably personally switch to aristocrat when I hit my thirties, if all goes well, maybe even later if I age slowly.
33. Is there a Lolita fashion or behavior that you think "I don't want Lolitas to do this!" about? Not really. Again, there is freedom in this fashion. As long as they are not giving Lolitas a bad name, each Lolita is welcome to do as she pleases.
34. Is there something you think "Lolita has to be this way!" about? Lolita has to be feminine. That is what defines the fashion to me, and many others.
35. While doing Lolita, has something changed from earlier than you did Lolita? Yes. I have developed a keener sense for quality, and I am always following the flow and evolution of the fashion by reading updates and watching what others are doing. I am defining my own style more--I was much more rigid about it in the beginning.
36. Do you go to school/work as Lolita? I go to school in Lolita, but not work. At school, I love wearing it to class and around campus. But for work, at one job, Lolita freaks my supervisor out, and at my other job, it is impractical to weaer petticoats and large bows because they get in the way.
37. Do you wear Lolita clothes as casual wear? I suppose you could say that. I do wear casual Lolita when I am too lazy or tired to dress up the whole way. I don't wear it when lazing around the house, though.
38. Do you have a boyfriend (or husband)? Do you understand each other? (I think she meant “Does he understand you (as lolita)?”) Yes! My boyfriend thinks it is very beautiful, and it has a certain allure for him. I don't like thinking of Lolita as being very sexual, but to him it is a fashion that makes me more desireable.
39. What do the people around you think of your doing Lolita? Do they accept it? My classmates don't pay much attention to it when I walk around campus. Sometimes I get questions, but they usually accept the simple answer of "It's a Japanese fashion that I am really in to."
40. What kind of Lolita is who has impressed you the most up until now? I am often inspired by the many wonderful Sweet-style Lolitas that I see on the forums and communities. I am also impressed by beautifully done Gothic-style Lolitas. I can't say a certain person has inspired me more than others--everyone is amazing.
41. Have you ever made your own Lolita clothing or/and accessories? If so, what was the best item that you’ve made? Of course! I think my best one has been one of my latest projects, a playing-cards print skirt made from a pattern in GosuRori volume 7. It turned out wonderfully!
42. If you have an ideal Lolita outfit or coordination, please tell us. Currently, my best and favorite coordination is this: BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT white Petit Ruffle blouse with detachable sleeves, white folding parasol, and last year's "Recipe" jumperskirt worn with white knee socks and black Mary-Janes. Of course a petticoat and bloomers are included. My petticoat is by Candy Violet and my bloomers are home-made.
43. Is there a motif that you think “this is a simple of Lolita”? The two things that make me think most of Lolita are strawberries and delicate crowns. When I see them on t-shirts or accessories, I think, "Oh my, that is so Lolita!"
44. Would you want to dress your children as Lolita? Sure, if they would let me. I think it would be very fun to go out with my little boy/girl in Lolita or Kodona while wearing Lolita myself, and maybe my husband/boyfriend dressed in Dandy. A Lolita family!
45. What's your image of the ideal Lolita? I can't honestly say that a single image makes up the ideal Lolita. There are so many aspects to the style, and I love so many different parts of it. There is no ideal, really!

Then in my art class my sophomore year there was this girl who was a freshman and she saw me drawing a Harajuku Girl and it all went down from there.
4. After knowing Lolita fashion, have you had any time-gap or resistance till you actually started to be Lolita? It only took me a while to make my first dress and after that my friend and I started going to meet-ups and I wasn't embarrassed to wear it in public or anything. 19. Please tell us your heart's bible as a Lolita. (anything like a book, magazine, CD, idol...) There is this girl who went to Anime Central in Chicago, IL this year and she has also been to a few meetups that I've been to but she is the perfect Loli in my eyes. I wish to one day be like her.
