People you ban are now hidden from your friend-of list. We can also use the aggregate data (who is banned most often) to quickly find and suspend accounts which are used solely for harassment.

BTW, currently there's no easy way to ban somebody unless they leave a comment on an entry of yours. There will be. For now, you have to use the admin console:

In the box there, you type:
ban_set whoever
Where whoever is the person you want to ban. You can do multiple lines, if you want:
ban_set somebody
ban_set somebody_else
