ISO: Lang Soft Shetland Color 65 Pink [29 Sep 2008|07:01am]

annabella
Desperately seeking at least one ball of Lang Soft Shetland in the darker pink color 65. Willing to buy or trade. Don't care about lot number. This is for my niece's christmas sweater. I was sure I'd have enough but it's looking less and less like I do each stitch I knit. Thanks to anyone who can help!

I have a single skein of Wisdom's Marathon Sock "New York" yarn in colorway 223, which is a self-patterning colorway in shades of purple. This is the project gallery page on Ravelry. 423 yards per unit.

I also have like SEVEN balls of Alpaca Country Fina (which as I understand it was a Russian yarn that only was around for a brief period of time before they decided not to go into the yarn business, or something). Anyway, they're all about sport weight and forest green (which is why I'm getting rid of them, I really don't like that color at all), 80/20 wool/alpaca and I've got a total of something like 1035 yards. Some of it has been knit and frogged.

I ALSO have a single ball/hank of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, in color 13 which is kind of half blue, half grey. DK weight, 192 yards per hank apparently.

Everything is wound into center-pull balls because I got kind of excited when I got my ball winder. :p I have most if not all of the labels available somewhere, however; if you want them I can probably find them.

As for what I want... I would really like some of KnitPicks' Imagination sock yarn in the Wicked Witch colorway. Sock yarns in crazy bright colors with very little synthetic content are great, yarns with alpaca or silk content that aren't any heavier than worsted are also great. Blues and aquas are my favorite, I prefer heathereds and semi-solids to solid colors, etc etc. I'm also not really that great at making these posts.

capsicumanuum
Straights, Clover, sizes US 6, 8, and 10.

DPNs, set of 4, brand forgotten, size Japanese 15 (6.6mm)

All in good but used condition - ie slight bowing from knitting at tight tension but not water damage or warping.

Will swap for DPNs sets of 5 only, or circs of any length smaller than US8. Will also swap for laceweight or sockweight yarn.

magazines for swap [16 Sep 2008|09:28am]

queen_alpaca
I have several magazines for swap:

Vogue Knitting Fall 2006
Vogue Knitting Holiday 2006
Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2007
Knit N Style December 2006

All are in good condition, nothing has been removed, no writing, etc. These could all go to one person or I'm also happy to split them up.

I'm looking to start knitting socks, so I particularly want Ann Budd's Getting Started Knitting Socks. But I'd also be interested in other sock-knitting supplies, such as DPNs (bamboo) or sock yarn (enough for a pair).

Lacey Lamb by Jade Sapphire for swap [15 Sep 2008|12:22pm]

capsicumanuum
I have a mostly-full ball of Lacey Lamb in pink to swap (color NY204 on this color chart. This yarn comes in 60g putups, and I used 4g from this ball. A full ball is 825 yards. This is a very light 3-ply laceweight, very soft, very touchable when knit up. Smokefree and petfree home.

I am most interested in sockweight or laceweight animal fibre yarn. I will also swap for needles. I am looking for more US1 and US2 DPNs and circs of any length smaller than US6. The retail price of Lacey Lamb is $18/ball so I'm looking for a trade of roughly equal value.

Books to swap [07 Sep 2008|01:21pm]
aphrodite_atlas
I have duplicates of the following two books.  I'd like both to go to one address but if you simply must have only one we can probably work something out.  I'm open to offers of non-synthetic natural non-angora/non-cotton laceweight yarns, or spinning fibers.

Gift card swap? [12 Aug 2008|02:49am]

dichotomise
Hey there, this is totally a long shot, but -- I have a JoAnn gift card for $25 and was wondering if there's someone out there with one of the same value for Michael's and would like to switch? (I bought a couple skeins of one of the new colorways of Cottonease at my nearby Michael's and I'm going to need some more, and I can't find any JoAnn stores that carry it.) Or I suppose if you happen to have three skeins of Cottonease in the Hazelnut colorway dyelot 37630 that would work too, ha. Of course I can just go buy it since it's not that expensive, but seeing as I've had this gift card for five months now and haven't used it, I thought it'd be a nice trade. Let me know! (I also have some items to trade on my Ravelry swap page, username veganpurls.)

ISO Handknitting with Meg Swansen [28 Jul 2008|05:55pm]
amusingthings
EDIT: Got it! I ordered it from Schoolhouse Press (Calling them was a fantastic idea, super nice.). It appears that Amazon got it back in stock just a little too late--too bad, free two day shipping is superior to waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for your help everyone!

Hello there!

I am desperate need of locating Handknitting with Meg Swansen. Specifically for the pattern for the Spiral Yoke Pullover.

I have a friend for whom this sweater must be knit. I have yarn for the sweater already--we chose that organically. While wandering around a wool festival, he said "I really enjoy this yarn. It would make a great sweater." so we picked up enough for a sweater. Unfortunately, no pattern ever lived up to the yarn (or to his discerning palette), so it's been sitting in my stash for eons. While perusing my knit blogs, he saw the sweater by brooklyntweed, and said "Now that sweater is sharp!". I'm relatively certain he's forgotten about the yarn waiting to become a sweater for him, and his birthday is coming up, so I'm super excited to get started on this.

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't have it in stock, neither can I find a place online that has it, so I'm hoping someone out there does, as I don't have the patience to wait for someone else to find it!

I have a few ways I could foresee this happening. (1) I'm willing to swap this text for another, if that appeals to anyone, I've included a list of the texts I'd be willing to swap. I actively use all the knitting books I have, so you can take any of these knowing that they're more than worth having in your collection, I've knit at least one or two things out of each one of them, usually many many more. (2) I'm willing to pay for you to ship the book to me, allow me to borrow the book while I knit the sweater (which I anticipate taking about three weeks), and then I'll send it back with a renters fee of some yarn of your choosing or (3) I'm willing to swap for some yarn in my stash, which I have an excessively large stash. Depending what you're looking for, I've got lace weight for several shawls in various colours, more sock yarn than is healthful, large quantities of baby yarn... Let me know what you have a hankering for, and we can see what we can work out.

Hopefully we can work something out!

ISO-Socks That Rock-Lenore and Valkyrie [25 Jul 2008|07:32pm]

sicklipstick

Does anyone have these harder to find (maybe older) Socks That Rock colorways? I’m looking for either in any weight. I checked at Purlescense (no luck), and called The Fold (am waiting for her to look and get back to me), anyone know anywhere else I can find either? I might give BMFA a call, because I was told you can order things not listed on the site…right? I have tons I can swap for, or can get a giftcard to a store of choice for swapping as well. I have a skein of Haida I can swap for one of the two or a skein of Wollmeise for both.

Thanks again, this means a lot to me. :)

alina & Calico have been acquired.

yarn swap ahoy! [22 Jul 2008|10:31am]
sicklipstick
have a bunch of yarns up for swap. everything is in a pet/smoke free home and all yarn is stored in plastic bags. some yarns are hand dyed some are not. i'm looking for either swapping hand dyed sock yarn (like socks that rock) for the hand dyed or knitpicks/webs/woolgirl gift credits (for anything). yarn details and photos are listed below.

first is 3 skeins of caron simply soft. lavender purple, heathered blue, and neon green. all with wrappers and full yardage. nothing has been knitted.

next is a 370 yard mill end of cherry tree hill supersock. color is black. would be great for some colorwork knitting.

one skein of patons classic wool in color peacock. new with wrapper. nothing has been knitted.

two skeins of plymouth sockotta in a pink/yellow/white/orange colorway. can be swapped as one skein or both.

and one skein of 3 irish girls adorn sock in the fiona colorway. this is 430 yards. enough for one pair of adult socks.

also have the teen knitting club book which i dont have a photo of but if anyone has interest in it i can take one when i get home from work today.

thanks again! hopefully i have something someone needs!

ISO - scraps: Silky Wool Periwinkle [06 Jul 2008|12:02am]

ldyravnyarnmavn
Hey there!

I am a 3rd of the way through the bind-off of my Laminaria... and I've run out of yarn. It seems silly to go out and buy a whole hank of Silky Wool just to finish the bind-off, so I was hoping someone might have some leftovers of the Silky Wool in periwinkle (#027) they could spare.
