Hi!

I have just joined this community after [info]trinapink took me to see Keri in London last week. It was rather wonderful and she's an amazing person (both Trina and Keri are...)

Anyway, I'm just writing to say that I've syndicated Keri's blog from MySpace to [info]kerifeed. Just thought you might like to know.

Videos Galore!
I had two videos that were too big for YouTube, so if anyone knows how to make them smaller, let me know, so I can get them up there, too!  Keep in mind, all of these videos were taken with a digital camera, so the quality isn't the best!

Hopefully by the end of tonight I'll have all my Keri videos from the Christmas 2005-present up on YouTube!

Just back from the Keri Noble concert. WOW!

She is an amazing woman. I will always be grateful that I discovered her music, and awed that we have become friends (if I can say that!). She is an inspiration to me: a beautiful woman (inside and out) committed to a dream others might call crazy. Watching Keri chase her dream with clear eyes and a huge heart was what gave me the courage to write.

Earlier today, we were listening to music on my iPod, and Joni Mitchell's song, "The River" came on. My sister [info]sparkatthefarm said, "I love this song."

"Me too," I said. "I'd love to hear Keri sing it though! I think she'd really rock on it." My sister agreed.

So guess what song Keri opened the concert with? Yep, you guessed it: "The River." It was just as good as I imagined it, easily my favorite version ever (though Sarah McLachlan's new one is pretty great too).

Keri played a lot of great, new music! I especially liked "Watch Me Walk," one of a growing number of K-No empowerment pieces like "I Won't" and "Keys." I sat listening with two of my sisters, all of us survivors of abusive marriages, and it struck me that "Watch Me Walk" was our anthem.

Another really nice one was "Ghosts," a song about her Noble grandmother, the one whose surname she borrowed. Grandmother Noble was a "complex" woman, with an undercurrent of pain or disappointment (Keri wasn't specific). The song reminded me of my own grandmother, held down by her husband until she stopped kicking (not literally--and when she was left widowed, she immediately began to kick again).

But the power song of the evening was "Born Again," a passionate song that talks about the need for rebirth--for individuals and our society, couched in terms of a desire to be "born again again."

It was a magical evening: affirming and restorative and down right fun! Jeff Arundel sang a hysterical song called (I think) "We Need a New Scrooge," and Scrooge shuffled out in his nightshirt and cap, only to shed them for a metallic purple suit with matching shoes and shades and do a hiphop rap. Jeff also brought in Keri's powerhouse backup singers to help him sing a breathtaking song called "Harriet Tubman."

Holiday Show!!!!!
Ok, so the holiday show last night was amazing, as always!  I thought Keri sounded exceptionally good, as did Jeff.  Kathleen and Rhonda Johnson, who were at the last Christmas show, and the zoo show were there as well.  Those ladies can sing!  Everyone just sounded so good together!  It was awesome!  My pics aren't the best, sorry!  Let me tell you, I was mighty excited that Keri had AN ACTUAL piano with her!  This is the very first time I've seen her play with a piano, and not a keyboard.  As soon as I walked in, I saw it, and got even more excited than I already was!  The K.No/JA banter was funny, as always.  I think that's one of the things I look foward to the most when I go to their show.  They're just hilarious!  I'm having slight memory loss, so I'm not going to be able to give you the entire set list, but I'll try my best.
Piece of My Heart
Life #9
Use Me
Like A River
Ghosts (newer, about her grandmother)
Use Me
Red Wine 'til Daylight
Born Again (I LOVE this song, greatly regretting I didn't take video during this song)
2 of her Christmas songs
JA also sang some solo songs
I'm sure I'm missing some, but like I said, my memory isn't serving me well right now!!!!!

Second of all, in Keri's latest journal, she states that her zoo show was actually recorded, so a live CD will be coming out! Yay! How exciting is that!!!! Hopefully it'll come out soon!!!!

Keri's Concert @ the Zoo
Well, Keri's zoo show was once again amazing.  She had a huge entourage of people with her!  Everyone from Jeff to backup singers to trumpet players to special guests from NYC!  It was quite the show!  Here is the song list, in no particular order:

Look At Me - she opened with this

Let It Rain

Imperfect - her producer, Libby, sang backup on this song, along with one other African American lady who was also at the Christmas show.  The song was intro-ed by Keri talking about her obsession with gossip magazines

Go Proud - this is my personal favorite.  I love it on the EP, and I love it live!  I first heard it at the Christmas show when two African American ladies (I wish I could remember what group they are associated with) sang with her.  Keri gets very soulful in this song, and the lyrics themselves are inspiring.

Falling - beautiful version with a violinist

I Will Remember You - Sarah Mclachlan cover, and the last song of the night.  It was the very first song Keri and Jeff ever sang together when Keri was a surprise guest at a Billy Mac concert, and went on before Jeff.

Talk to Me - a Keri staple

Piece of My Heart - dedicated to Jeff's kids

I Won't - this was the first encore song, and soulful Keri came out again!  It was funny because she took a drink of water right before she started singing, and all of a sudden turns to Jeff and says, "We have to start over!  I took a drink and didn't swallow right!"

I Wrote the Book - another amazing song to see Keri perform live.  She puts so much heart into it!

Pages - a new, very pretty song

Red Wine 'til Daylight

Use Me - I'm not sure if this was the actual name of the song, but it's also new.  It has a definite edge to it!

About Me - this was written from Keri's standpoint on marriage.  She shared with us that she recently performed a small show for the Make A Wish foundation, and the people there saw a completely different meaning in the song.  Songs can mean so many things to so many people.

I just can't get enough of seeing Keri live!  She gives so much of herself, and that totally shows in her music!  This concert was filled with people on stage and in the audience that she loves, and that love her!  During a couple songs, she even came into the audience, having people sing along with her, and walked up the aisles.  It was such a fun night!  I took some pictures and videos, so take a look!

Minnesota Zoo '06
Once again, the zoo show was amazing.  I'll post all about it tomorrow, since it's late and I need to go to bed.  If anyone else went, definitely share what you thought!

I did want everyone to know that Keri needs our support!  At the concert tonight, she told EVERYONE to email her at keri@kerinoble.com letting her know what you like about her and her music.  She is then going to forward on every single email that she gets to the people that need to hear those wonderful comments (in other words, the higher-ups).  Everyone in the music industry needs to know how much we love Keri, and we want her to be successful, right?  I thought so!

Concert Update
Tickets are going fast for Keri's performance on Friday, August 11th at the Minnesota Zoo.  While Keri was on Cities 97, she said there are only a few tickets left, so if you haven't gotten them already, ACT QUICK!!!!  I went to her zoo show a couple years back, and it was utterly amazing!  There are no bad seats in the house!  I can't wait to hear all of the new songs!

As [info]rieness posted earlier in the week, there is a YouTube video of Keri, now!  Yay!!!!  For those of you that didn't already see it, be sure to check it out.

Has anyone made any Keri icons?  Wallpaper?  Have good concert pics?  Share them here!!!!!

The Site
So, I don't think enough people are checking out this site, or staying with it.  That could be, in large part, because I haven't done enough to maintain it.  That's about to change, and I want all of your input.  How should we get our site (and Keri) more known on LJ?  What should we do to make our Keri LJ a popular one?  Thanks in advance!

Frustrated
I tried to listen to the Keri interview on Cities 97 this morning through the web because we aren't allowed to have radios on our desks here. The stupid stream wouldn't work the whole time. So I didn't get to hear any of it.

What did I miss?

FINALLY!
There's a Keri video up at youtube. It's a compilation, put out by her management team. It's kind of choppy, but it's cool to see nonetheless.
